View Full Version : Tell me about the walk from OKW to SSR

We are owners at SSR but DH has never seen it. We're staying at OKW this spring and I'm thinking about going to SSR a few afternoons for lunch and to use the pool. How is the walk? We did request to be close to HH at OKW because we spend a lot of time at the resort. Is this the furthest area from SSR? TIA:)

We have walked from SSR to DD and taken the boat from OKW to DD,
sorry can not help you. But I am interested to hear this answer, too !

You really want to take the boat from OKW to SSR. It is a nice ride.

The walkway begins behind building 55 - in the South Point area of OKW. You could take a bus to get to that point - and then it's just under a mile to SSR along the canal. It is a pleasant walk.

As noted, you can also take the boat - leaves from HH every 30 minutes from 11am thru 4pm and then every 20 minutes until 11pm.

Another option is to rent bikes and ride them. DH and I do it quite often and really enjoy it.

one walkway takes you to West side.

there is another one - you don't turn that takes you to SSR.

thanx for that info! might hafta try the walk to ssr and then take the boat back to okw!

Either or both! The walkway divides at the practice green - if you go to the left and across the bridge, you would be at SSR and can follow the walkway long the lake at Congress Park to Marketplace - if you continue past the practice green and around the parking lot, you will end up at Cirque (that is 0.93 miles from Building 55). You can continue on to Marketplace from Cirque (and the distance would be similar to the walk thru SSR).

We really enjoy the walk in the morning before the temps heat up. Most of the walkway is not lighted and the walkway is considered closed after dark.
