Just booked our trip for April 28th thru May 4 using the free hopper upgrade code. This is what we got:

7 days/6 nights at POR w/water view room. 5 day park hopper tix w/free water park fun & more and DDP for 2 adults and 2 children. The grand total is: $2,651.20.

I'm hoping this is a good deal. :yay:

I just booked at POR for July 8-15 (7 nights) for 2 adults and 3 children without any upgrade and also including the DDP and water view as well. Our total was $3,975, but it includes one more night and one more person.

We're going right around the same time - April 25th to May 1st. Also 6 night, 7 day at CBR (another Mod resort), with 2 adults and 2 children. We did not do the park hopper (but we got seven days-minimal price increase) and do not have a preferred room. We went through AAA and got the whole thing (including dining) for $2,342. You have two less days, but the park hopper and water parks - about $300 more. I think this is the same quote we got from Disney, which is why I went through AAA. Park hoppers weren't worth that much to me, and my kids are too little for the water parks...

We booked POR for Aug 21st to the 27th. (6 nights 7 days) for family of 3 adults (grandma is comming) and 2 childrent. We have a code that saved us $400, and only getting basic park tickets since it will be hard on grandma and our 5 year old to park hope a lot and our total was $1754.

CBR. I originally was going to do Pop and then I decided to go with CBR because some friends of mine are going at the same time. My neighbor is an AAA rep and I asked him if I could change. I told him to let me know what the difference in price would be. He never got back to me. I have the confirmation from Disney. I am going to pull it out because now I am wonderig if there was a difference and what it was. This was a few weeks ago so i would hope that he would have told me the difference. I saw him this afternoon and he didn't say anything. I will have to get back to you on this one cause I don't want t big surprise in the end!

My kids are 8 & 4. Seems like some of you got better deals going through AAA. We don't have AAA.

Did you book through Disney or AAA? Why is my price so much higher? Did you book with a code or a 40% off or something?

I would check - I don't want to be a downer or anything, but the mods are usually higher than the values. If your price is right, can you get me the name of your AAA TA? That's a great price!

You can check the disney site and just price it out without hopper/wp and you should get the same amount.

That is regular season making your room 185/nigh+tax
6 nights room 1248.75
5 day tickets about 800
($2 per person for each additional day btw amazing how cheap it is to add ticket days at that point)
Dining plan about 100 per night = 600
Total about 2650.

Looks like your quote was right on the money for giving you exactly what you expected - free hopper/wp which is valued (according to the disney website for advance purchase tickets) at about $350.

Do you have a "room with a view"? The Op also has the water view room which added $20 per night plus tax. AAA would have saved you about 167. add that to the about 135 total for the extr view and you get the 300 difference.

We booked thru Disney...POR standard room...from April 29th - May 6th...7 nights, 7 days of ddp, 7 day park hopper and water parks and more for $3553.00

AAA gave us the same deal. So I chose to book directly thru Disney. We have 2 Adults and 3 kids ages 14, 13, 8.

6 aaa nights at a mod, regular season, standard room = 947ish
base tickets for 2 adults 2 under 10 children = 800ish
ticket upgrades (per disney site) = 350ish
dining for 6 nights 2 adults 2 under 10 children = 600ish
total 2696

6 aaa nights at a value, regular season, standard room = 568
package = 2318

Dining not having been added - would put the mod price to be about right
otherwise it just doesn't add up...unless aaa agents get an even better deal that she was able to pass on to you.

I left my neighbor a message on his voice mail to just confirm my total. My invoice from AAA says CBR with total cost, but I am still worried because it's not directly from WDW. I am going to call this morning and check CBR to make sure that they have my reservation.
I always do my trip reservations on my own and this time i decided to use someone else.
As far as discounts, AAA is a bit of a difference in price than booking directly. Maybe he gave me and employee discount, although I am just someone he sees occassionaly in the neighborhood, we are not good friends.
I will let you guys know what the outcome is.

Nope - no preferred room. We did that one year, and really couldn't figure out what the benefit was.:confused3 We don't mind walking a little further. Anyway - you're on with the $ amounts. However, AAA also saved us on the dining plan - about $25 (I know, small amount, but I'll take it) and they were offering a free $25 disney gift card for booking in January, so we got that too:)

I still wanted to get a code though:sad1: Oops, different thread...

Angbuz! I think I remember you from planning our May 2004 trip! We both stayed at POFQ!!!!!:goodvibes

We are going back for 7 nights from 5/9-5/16 at CBR with 8 day hoppers/waterparks and the dining for 2 adults/2 children
for $2828. I am going through Dreams Unlimited this time but I got the same exact quote from AAA. I chose the ticket upgrade over the AAA discount.

Good to see you guys are going back!!:yay:

Yes, we're going back and staying at the POR (as you can see). We just loved POFQ. How bout you, did you like it? I'll be anxious to see how you like CBR, that was our second choice.

We can't wait to go back. This time we're doing the DDP so i'm trying to set our ADR's. It's driving me crazy!!!!

I loved POFQ. We even went back in 2005 and stayed there again with free dining! As much as I loved it I wanted to try someplace different this time so we'll see how CBR is. I'll post a report when we get back.

We enjoyed the DDP so much we are paying for it this time. It was so nice eating at some nicer places than we did before. Where are you making ADRs?

So far this is what I have........... (feel free to give me feedback on any place we have picked, it's not set in stone)

Boma - Bfast
Whispering Canyon Cafe - Dinner
Akershus - PSB - Bfast
Cap'n Jack's - Dinner (DTD) Still not sold on this one, still deciding.
'Ohana - Dinner
LeCellier - Dinner or Chef Mickey's- Dinner (i want to eat at LeCellier, but my DD8 really wants to go back to Chef Mickey's, so we'll see who wins that one:rolleyes: )

Do you have any suggestions or comments? (It's me, DH, DD8, DS4) I would love to hear how you managed to figure your TS meals out. It's really hard b/c i want to try EVERYTHING!!!! If you don't mind sharing where you went last time you were on DDP, that would be great. How many in your party? Ages?

Thanks in advance!!!!!! Nice chatting with ya!!!!

I think that's why I remember you-not only were we staying at POFQ that same week but our kids are so close in ages. My DD is 8 and my DS is 5.:goodvibes

Your ADRs look pretty good to me.
Boma-have never eaten there but made an ADR for dinner this time around. I've heard great things about both meals and really want to see AKL.

Ohana-ate there for the character breakfast last year and thought it was great. I'll bet dinner is wonderful.

LeCellier-my favorite place I ate last year.:cloud9: The steak was soooo good and the maple creme brulee dessert was unbelievable. I highly recommend it.

Chef Mickeys-we have eaten there the last 2 times we went and are doing it again. It's becoming a tradition to eat there on the first night. I tried to talk my family into something different but they wouldn't go for it.;)

I've never eaten at Cap'n Jack's, Akershus or Whispering Canyon. Too many restaurants and too little time!

Last time we also went to Hoop Dee do Revue and loved it. It was so much fun and DH was really happy with the pitcher of beer they delivered to the table after a long day in the parks.:drinking1 I recommend it but it did cost us 2 TS meals. Sometimes we shared meals to stretch them out. It's really so much food!!

We also did the Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic package. The food was decent-my kids really like the buffets so they can pick and choose what they want. In DTD we ate at Planet Hollywood which was pretty good too.

We also ate at Tony's in MK. I thought it was pretty disappointing. It was slow and the food was blah. It was really the only meal I didn't really care for.

So far this time around I have ADRs at Chef Mickeys, Mama Melrose for Fantasmic, San Angels Inn, Boma and Libery Tree Tavern. I'm tempted to add LeCellier because I like it so much.;)

Too funny!!!!:rotfl2: We should have met up with each other the time we were both in POFQ. Our kids probably would have enjoyed playing together in the pool.

I rethink my TS's every day and am still not sold on everything I have. I've read some really great reviews about Kona in Poly and like you, Chef Mickey's is like tradition for us and my daughter says that that's the one place she would like to go out of any restaurant princess: (go figure). So back to the drawing board. I think i'm gonna do away with Cap'n Jack's and maybe do dinner at Kona (menu sounds great and good reviews). Cap'n Jack's - not such great reviews.

We did Hoopdeedoo also last time (we loved it), Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, CRT bfast (so cool), Garden Grill and ate a few times at the POFQ food court. We were not on DDP last time.

Did you find it hard to make your dining schedule? To me this is the most grueling part of the planning. Kind of making me crazy!!!!!:confused3 We want to make the most of our DDP and eat at good places? Did you ever forgo a TS one day and have 2 TS's another day? I guess it wouldn't be hard to make meals out of the CS's at some places.

Thanks for all your input. It helps so much!!! :thumbsup2

Who knows maybe they did play together! There were so many kids there they were bound to see eachother!:rotfl:

Making the reservations is really hard. It was especially hard last time because we didn't get hopper passes so if we decided to dine at one of the parks then that had to be our park for that day. I'm finding it a bit easier to do this time knowing we can park hop.

I don't know if I could do 2 TS meals a day. It's so much food and I'm not sure I want to sit down and take all that time to eat twice a day. some of the CS meals are pretty hearty-especially with dessert!

You're welcome. I love to plan and talk about it. I get a bit obsessive before a trip.

I was pretty bad last time we went with the DDP too. I feel a little more confident this time around. It worked really well and was so easy to use.

Would you mind sharing the details of how you got this rate?

I'm trying to help some friends plan a trip. They're wanting to stay at POR for 6 nights, and they also have 3 kids (9,5,4), but they want the dining plan.

That's a great rate, and something they could afford!
