I just got my new volo. I cannot get the safety belt clip to open. Whats up with that? Is it always this hard?
**p.s. I had to buy 2 strollers and and neither safety clip is opening! It's obviously me! What am I doing wrong?** :scared:

I finally got it open...seriously, why is it so hard? Should I oil the clips? In all my experience with strollers this is the craziest seat belt I have come across...

I agree. I just got a Volo too and it took me forever to get it unclipped.

Tricia, oh thank goodness i'm not the only one. Is yours any easier to open after a few tries? I am hoping it's just because they are new, but still, this is crazy how hard it is to unclip!

The clips to my Mac Quest were really hard to open at first too. Now that they have loosened up some it's easy for me. My DH and DM still have a hard time with them though. HTH! :)

Well, not really, but I have only clipped and unclipped it about 20 times. I bought it for DS5 for our upcoming trip and I probably won't buckle him if it doesn't get any easier.

I don't have 5 minutes to waste trying to buckle and unbuckle this thing! I wonder if there is something to put on it that would help loosen it up. I love this stroller, but this clip is making me think twice!
Thanks for all the responses - and thanks for letting me vent

As I previously mentioned, I also find it hard to open. However, when some other family members tried to open it they did it very easily. How? It was they way they positioned their thumb. They used the bottom of the top part of the thumb (middle part where the bone is). I was using the tip of my thumb. Seemed to have made a difference. Try opening the clip by angling your thumb.
Hope that helps.

Oh what funny timing - not an hour ago I tried to open the clips on my new Mac Rally Twin and could NOT get them. Finally got one side of one seat open and then gave up before my 2yo learned a new word. I don't know what to do either! Guess I'll keep practicing......

Well I agree the clips are TIGHT. I can barley open that clip, why so tight? I love the stroller otherwise so I will still get it, but seriously, does it get easier?

Jenny, I think that is downfall of the stroller. I love it too. The clips stink though.

I am getting the quest and the clips are horrible, my mom will never be able to open it.

Try heating them up a bit with a blow dryer, then after you open them, leave them open for awhile. If they have been stored in the closed position for awhile, the plastic may have stiffened up. You can also lubricate the edges of the male side of the buckle with a bit of solid soap.
Personally I like that they are not easy to open. Keeps those little Houdinis safely contained.

I just got my new quest, WOW are the clips hard to open!! I am going to leave them open for a while and see if that helps. I will also try the hair dryer to loosen them up. Anyone else have a trick to get the clips open without breaking a finger?

Jenny, you will know me by out-of-control screaming maniac with the VOLO stroller :rotfl: People will be walking by thinking what is that crazy woman doing? I know you will understand though ;)
Seriously, the blowdryer trick honestly worked.
When are you going in September? We are there 4-9

So glad the hair dryer worked, did you do it while the clips were locked or open? My dslikes the stroller,I was pushing him all around the house and he was smiling. Then he turned, started crying( he just got his first tooth yesterday, second one on the way so he is cranky) I managed to get him out pretty quick, but still tight, I would love to get it a little better. We are going 9/21 -9/28. My DS 1st bday will be on the 26 so it will be an exciting trip! I will let you know how the hair dryer works for me!:thumbsup2

Jenny,
I did the dryer for about 45 seconds on each clip. They were HOT when I was finished with them. I showed those clips who was boss! Then I clasped them together and tried opening them. They came apart like normal safety clips should. Ahhhh I am hugging the poster that gave us that great idear :flower3:
1st tooth? How old is your little guy? Will this be his first trip to Disney World? How fun!!

My DS is almost 5 months old. He was riding around in his quest in the house again today and he likes it. I am about to go get the hair dryer and give those clips a good heating! I will let you know how it works for me!

The first time we took our daughter to Disney she was 8 months and our son was 21 months. It was so fun! You will have such a magical time with your son!
Let me know if the heat loosened the clips! Thanks again Notursula :goodvibes

I still did not get to use the dryer but my son fell asleep twice today in the stroller in the house. I am very happy the he seems to like it, the clips are getting a little better. I am surprised that there are not more people on this thread with the same issue.

Hello! Congrats on getting the Volo :yay: (I responded to your post asking for opinions about Volo's a few weeks ago because coincidentally, I had just come home from purchasing 2 of them!)
Although I have been givng the kids rides around in them, I actually have not really even tried the clips yet  Better go check them out now....perhaps it isn't just you two, I will let you know if I have trouble with mine :)

Yup, the clips on mine are tight too. I got them 2 weeks ago and they have been sitting in the basement awaiting our trip to WDW in 2 months. Glad I noticed this thread.... I'll try the blowdryer tomorrrow, but for now I am leaving the clips opened up! Definitely need to get them a little looser; my 18 month old MUST be strapped in or he never sits still, but of course I'd like to be able to get him in and out quickly at the parks. The 2nd Volo is for the 3 year old, and he may/may not be buckled all the time. Still think that I will love these strollers anyway!

Princess-Less welcome to our Volo safety clip support group! :grouphug:
Our kids are a year apart...I have a 2 year old daughter and 3 year old son. Your screen name is really cute. How fun it must be having all those boys! Just think you still get to be the "Queen!" My little princess has already stolen my title.
The blowdryer trick really does work. Crazy, but true.

Queen? :rotfl: I'd love that! "Fun" does not begin to describe life with 4 boys age 8 and under....LOUD and in constant motion is more like it. But, we do love them and they are sweet and for the most part pretty good. Happy and healthy, and we are thankful for that! I am totally outnumbered by the males so I think they will all forgive me for booking us at the Princess Dinner :scared1: at Akershus in Norway...hee hee.
I used the hairdryer and the clips did open easier afterward, I think I will do it a few more times before we leave and leave them open in the mean time too. Thanks NotUrsula :) I hope everyone enjoys their planning and has a magical trip to WDW. traci...the pic of your daughter is adorable princess:
