I've only heard of the first one that won on Star Tours (teenage son was the official winner). Have other people been winning each night? I thought they were awarding this prize most every night? Just wondering! Thanks.

I'm sure folks have been winning the Castle stay every day since January 25th BUT even with the DIS being the size it is the chances of it being a DISer or somone a DISer knows are still very slim.

I think we'll be seeing some posts from the winning families soon. The prize really hasn't been available that long and most people would probably wait until they returned from vacation to post. Good luck to all the DISer's out there!!!

Even with all of the vacation and cruise prizes that are worth lots of dollars, this is my true dream prize because you can't buy it even if you have millions. I can't wait to hear the stories - and hopefully see pictures!popcorn::
They started handing out the castle stays on January 24th. That being the case, today is Feb. 8th. Doing the math that would be 15 nights. So they've handed out 15 castle stays since the promo started for the public.
Just thinking, but if there is an average of 350,000 people on WDW property you would have about a 1, 2, 3, or 4 chance in 350,000 of winning the castle stay (depending on how big your family is). Those are very long odds.
Picture a giant box filled with 350,000 pieces of paper. One of those pieces of paper has the word castle written on it. Depending on the size of your family you would have that many chances to pull that one piece of paper out of the drum with the word castle on it.
I guess that's why its called the Year of a Million Dreams! I'll keep dreaming! How about you? :)

DH's colleague especially sought him out yesterday after he came back from his WDW vacation. Knowing that DH is a big Disney fan, he thought he would share his news. Yep, him and his family got to spend a night in the castle. There was him and his brothers family apparently, so eight total, he said it was bit crowded! He said they had a great time, got to skip lines for ride apparently too. MK was open late (for the princess & pirate thing?) so they had a blast. I think it was in the first week of the castle being opened. Naturally DH didn't ask the kind of questions I would have done!
I'm not sure where he was when he got picked out, but he was saying he thought that the dream squad guy was trying to sell him time share or something, and so was a little off hand, kind of "no, thank not interested" Fortunately they were persistent! He also mentioned that the dream squad guys found it a hard to get people to take the cruise vacations that they were also offering, I think that was their big prize before the castle suite opened. People were just not interested, can you believe that??!!
When my DH told me, he told me not to be too sick with jealousy, but to be honest I was really excited for them, also mean that it does happen to people you know! So fingers crossed to all of you in the coming months!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Man you need to call your husbands coworker and get all the info for us lol I wonder where they were at in the parks when it happened. That is so cool. I would love for that to happen to us when we go next month. My husband will be home for 2 week R&R from Iraq and a castle stay during that time would be wonderful!

Greeneyedchic- I hope you do win...you and your family deserves it....a family (us) from Ohio appreciates and thanks him serving our country and you and your family for supporting him! Enjoy every moment.... and if you don't win something don't be too disappointed, we didn't win anything, but it was magical anyways....:cool1:

Thank you Princesscj for the nice comment . Even if we dont win it will be magical because after not having him home for 7 1/2 months and my daughter and I having 2 weeks with him will be worth more then anything and to be at Disney together is a bonus. Now if we win the castle that will be the icing on the cake lol

Just a quick question. I thought the prize was for up to 5 people in the room. Am I wrong?

That's what I thought, my DH's coworker said he was there with his brother's famil too. The way DH said about it, I took it to mean that they were all at the castle. Either they can take 8, DH got it wrong that it was all of them in the castle or the coworker was making it all up - though I can't see why.

Interesting, it says on an official Disney site that the guest chosen and up to 5 people with them - ooh do you think the coworker was lying?? It didn't occur to me that he might be, Elementary school maybe, not at work! So sorry if this the case. I really was being honest in reporting what DH was told. I would hate for you all to think I was the one lying.
Just spoke to DH. One of the guys kids is only about 1 year old, not sure the age of the brothers kids.. So I'm wondering if two of those 8 where infants. Maybe Disney can provide pack n go's.

I think if the family was willing to squeeze in together, Disney probably and should allow the "group" to stay together. I mean how unfair could that turn out to be? A family of 6 - mom, dad, 4 kids? Oh sorry, one of you can't stay in the castle?? How wrong would that be? Very "un"magical.....
It probably says 5 because that is the basic family size - 2 parents, and up to 3 children... or say 2 adults, one child and grandparents, etc.....
They obviously don't want you inviting say all 10 of your friends and family to stay....especially if you lived close by......
I guess the say..."There is an exception to every rule" applies here....

I found this page that goes in detail about what happens when you win the nights stay in the castle and has alot of pictures of the room. Makes me want to win it even more after reading this and seeing the pics!

WDW official news site has 1 guest plus 5 others. If you look at the pics of the room there are 2 double beds and a convertible sofa. You could fit 6 adults in.

Above is the link to the Disney press site. The fourth paragraph talks about the amount of people that they accommodate. I'm assuming that they must bend the rules if you have infants.
I did tell DH that I want photographic evidence from his co-worker (as I have had the seed of doubt sown in my head) Either that or I can wait until 2008, when they release the main prize winners list, and I can see his name in black and white!!! DH says the guys win is pretty well known around work now, and he seemed to geniuenly know a lot about what goes on if you win.
