With all the excitement over AKV I thought I'd start the DL DVC Wish Club. Anyone else want to join?
I'll be first in line if they announce Grand CA Villas.

We're excited at the prospect! Though I do hope they'll wait til after our big family reunion trip to WDW next year - our points will be all used up for a couple years, and it'll give us time to save up the $. More points, especially at the GC, sound great to me!

Definitely hoping for a west coast DVC, but probably won't buy any points, but tempted. In retrospect I would have purchased a smaller contract at SSR and then definitely added on for the GC DVC.

I do hope that it is available at the 7 mo mark. I'd be OK with 7 mo trading for a long weekend each year down to DL, and save our 7 day trips for WDW.

The only reason we didn't buy at AKV is that we are waiting for DL to get on board. We only live a few hours away and are so ready to have a 1-bedroom at DL instead of a standard room and I hate paying for suites. COUNT US IN!!!!

I'm all for it as well but I have another wish to add in to the mix. If they do it I really hope they will come out with some sort of special DVC AP that includes WDW & DL. My biggest problem with getting to DL, which I absolutely LOVE, is that we buy AP's and get them to cover two summers so I just can't get myself to break away from Florida.

I heard the decor rumor a year ago from someone well connected. But things change in a year's time.It was also mentioned as a stand alone building. At the time I heard the rumor I couldn't understand how the decor would fit into any of the themeing of the resort. As for a stand alone next to the Bonita Tower, I love that as a location. Didn't they stop the Fantasy Waters show over there because of a possible reuse of that area?

How about some help FROM someone who is not a computer genius. If I could do it, anyone can.

1.) Right click on the particular image you want to insert in your signature and click on copy.

2.) Click on Quick Links at top of forum page

3.) Click on Edit Signature

4.) Place curser at end of any text already in your signature and hit Enter/Return button

5.) Click on paste for insert picture in edit signature section

6.) Click on preview signature and it should be there.

Well, there's a new rumor (at least to me) at O-meon this week (I'd post the link, but I can't because I don't have enough posts yet- just add a www before O-meon and a .com to the end and you will find it). I'm really hoping that once DL gets the Villas that there is a significant AP discount. The premium pass is already $360.00 and $20.00 off is really pretty much worthless to me.

You could always get AP's for Disneyland and WDW. We do.

Yes, if I lived closer to DL like you then I would buy both. Unfortunately it is almost the exact same distance to both DL & WDW, there is about 10 miles difference for us. It just is not worth it to us to buy AP's to both parks. And since WDW has so much more to do that is where we end up going. If we had a pass that included both then we would do both. I just can't see myself buying AP's to both parks because of the break even point. Like I said, that point would be much different if we lived close enough that we could take short trips several times a year but with either park area being about a 20 hour drive for us it just isn't going to happen!

Surely I'm not the only person that would like AP's that included the DL & WDW parks?

Well, the DLH does need a little "sparkle" added to those buildings, if ya know what I mean. They're not the most attractive buildings.;) If they incorporated a DVC there, that would be AWESOME!

I'm really not that disappointed. Actually what I think they need at Disneyland is, of course a DVC resort or DVC addition of some kind, and an onsite moderate hotel (considering ALL the onsite Disney hotels are priced-per-night as a deluxe resort). They need something in the $125-$145 price range to get more people on site and spending more of their money there too!

Now, if they want to build a new deluxe resort, I'm all for that!:yay: But then I would hope that they would make the Paradise Pier a moderate.

Even though the hotels run near capacity, they are still losing out on the lower price crowd, that would save on a room, and spend more time at the resort. We love Paradise Pier over DLH, but used points that were in a holding account. Otherwise we stay at Hojos, when we want to stay overnight.A DVC would certainly keep us there overnight more often.

Yes I agree it would be great, but I don't see the difference in buying one in each park or having one pass that allows you to go to both. The price would probably end up being the same or close anyway. Unless they gave a really sweet discount for DVCers!!:goodvibes

We'd be thrilled to have DVC in DL - we own at SSR but we love to a DVC hotel or at least some villas in DL - its our closest Disney theme park after all. We might even consider an add-on to our existing points.

High on our list would also be Hawaii if they were to build/develop - we'd be really keen to go there.

I posted this on the DL boards, but maybe it will be good for your family/friends.

The incentive at DL has not changed since the end of the 1/20 F&F Discount. AP holders at DL are still eligible to get the $86 per point price as new members. Touring at DL still gets you the $50 gift card, and buying at DL still includes the incentive of 2 APs at either DL or WDW.

We toured this past weekend with DSis, and I was surprised the $15 AP discount was still available. My guide said she hasn't heard an end date, and is positive it will go at least through February. Any DL AP holders you know who are leaning off the fence? Now is definitely the time!

If anybody wants my guides name and number (or wants a referring member ;) ) PM me.

I would be one of the first in line. We thought about AKV but thought we would wait and see if there is a DVC in CA. We would buy there.:yay:

This is the deal we got in January. Initially we were holding out for Disneyland DVC, but the $15 discount hooked us! We are now proud owners of SSR, but as soon as we can buy at Disneyland we will! :goodvibes

It seems to be pretty much a given that there will be a GCV. Everybody I talk to says it is going to happen and I haven't read anything that says it is an unfounded rumor. Every now and then somebody will say that in California you can't pre-sell a timeshare but I can't find a law that substantiates that. I'm just waiting for the announcement. :hourglass

DVC at Grand Californian would be awesome -- would definitely consider adding on points from there if/when rumor becomes reality.

Another website has a thread started in the last few days about a TV news report about DLR. The report said that DLR is getting a new hotel, and expansion to an existing hotel, and a possible third gate minipark. Water park was also thrown in. No mention of a DVC.

Over at MouseInfo.com today, Marcie (reputed to be an insider with Disney) posted that DVC would come to DLR before the Contemporary, and would be announced "sooner than later". Oh, I soooooo hope she is right!:tigger:

She also said that while it is still in discussion, the second DLR DVC property would come in 2-3 years.

I want to be the first one to buy fron new jersey

We were just at the SSR arrived home yesterday, DVC is supposedly making an announcement and I was told it is the GC, Also a vendor showed up at the DVC offices looking for the model rooms for the AKV and CR to measure for curtains. So whatever that means ;) DVC will be very busy in the next few years.

The guide who I was talking with was not our guide, My wife wanted to see a GrandVilla at SSR, as we were walking I asked him about future DVC properties and any additional plans for SSR. He told me they had a meeting today and he thinks it was to announce the Californian, when they announce to the DVC members I don't know. He also stated that a vendor had come looking for the model apartments for AKL and the Contemporary to measure for curtains and drapery. I think the guides are the last people to learn of anything, because he said they were all surprised with that comment. I think DVC has become extremely popular and the demand is there and they see that, 2 new ships being built 1 possibly being for DVC members, they will do the Californian and they will do the Contemporary sooner than later in my opinion, especially the Californian.

I was told that the guides literally only find out about new DVC resorts the day before they are announced. So very interesting. :scratchin

We were at DLR on Friday. We walked around the south lawn at GCH, which is quite a large area. We saw the trees that were marked for removal, (As was previously posted) but also saw some (New?) Stakes up, one said "SE corner of building" (Exactly where the south East corner would logically be) the other said "Building Pop-out" which would be a pop out section similar to the existing wing I am assuming.
The question here is not if they are adding on to the GCH, (this seems pretty obvious) the real question is will it contain DVC units, and if so how many?

A DVC cart person told us that Jim Lewis was at DLR. He did not know if anything would be announced soon, but he thought something was brewing, although he did not say what, and Admitted that they are all in the dark right now.

Yes, there is definitely going to be an addition at the GCH.

It seems the ideal place to "test the waters" of a DLR DVC. It is such an ideal location and is the flagship hotel.

We have been waiting as well, but bought at AKV anyway. I just hope GCV comes soon and we can afford to buy there when it starts selling. I guess that's the key: affording when it when it comes out. Our guide, who's at Disneyland, refuses to say he knows anything, but insists that I will be his first call when a California DVC starts selling.

Keep the news coming.

Those of you in line for GC DVC, watch out - I'm coming thru!!! Definitely add me to your wish club!

Of course, I was a little too impatient to wait for DL DVC, and added on at AKV  . Of course, that doesn't mean I can't add on again!! (even if I had to sell some of my other points!). I honestly believe that having the 11 month booking advantage at DL may be the only way to get ressies for awhile - especially at busy times. Since we are on the west coast, it would definitely complete the Disney picture for us to own on both coasts!

We are leaving for DL this Friday - I'll try to check it out to for anything new.

It has to be significant that there is a sweepstakes right now only open to DL APs with DVC points as the prize: "Now through October 31, 2007, enter for a chance to win a three-year Disney Vacation Club Getaways SamplEAR*. All active DisneylandŽ Resort Annual Passholders are eligible! Just visit any Disney Vacation Club Information Center at the DisneylandŽ Resort or enter online now!"

The rules state that any person who enters may be solicited to purchase DVC. Looks like they are buidling a list of DL AP holders who might be interested in buying DVC.

I agree that there will be a GCV announcement soon. -- Suzanne
