I am thinking of possibly doing a 4 day disney cruise following DISCON this year. It leaves on the 8th and I would love it if a bunch of us could do it. That would be a great way to relax after going full speed ahead for 5 days.

If not I may just stay a few extra days just to relax.

What do you guys think?

Great idea although I think my wife would leave me if I suggested it to her.

Since we are doing the 7-day cruise in January and are going to get vouchers for a $99 3-day cruise in the fall/winter of 2002, I might just have to look into what dates are available around DIScon 2002. Thanks for the idea Patrick.

Pat! It's a really great idea, but I just can't. In case DIS-Con 3 is a cruise, I need to save for that. And, I know that DH would be very unhappy if I did a cruise without him at this point. I will have to be happy with staying a few days and relaxing. BTW, are you and Roger going to try for the BWV this time? I thought I might look into that myself. I'd like to stay at the YC for the actual convention, than switch to the BWV after that.

Barb I am actually going to get BWV at the 11 month window, and hope to switch to the Y&BC Villas if it is finished by then at the 7 month window or whenever. That way I will be real close to the action this time, and can go without having a car.

I think it would be wonderful to have a group of us near each other at one of the resorts.

I'm saving up enough DVC points to either stay at BWV or BCV (another great idea Patrick) for DIScon 2002. Since we are skipping our usual July/August trip, I should have enough. My only concern is that I will have to use the 7 month booking window since OKW is my home resort. And I have to figure out if I'm going solo or if I can convince my DW Sue to come along for all the fun.

I would suggest book OKW at 11 month window then waitlisting BWV or BCV at the 7 month window.

Since I own at BWV I can book mine at 11 months out. But I am going to try and Waitlist the BCV when they become available. I am thinking about a 1 BR this time instead of a studio, so I can invite people for a visit, but that is a lot of points I will have to think that over.

I actually mentioned to my DH that we could cruise for 4 days post DIS Con...I don't know if he'll go for it though!

Pat can host the DIS Con cruise meet after he finishes up his MC duties at the DIS Con Queen pagent at Jellyrolls. :)

The cruise sounds like a good idea but we will have to pass. We are headed back to WDW in june with my family. I think there are going to be a dozen or more going. Used my points for this next year and borrowed so we can stay at BWV. We do it every three years or so.

As tempting as this sounds, I don't think I'll be able to swing it. It's just too close to Christmas. And I'm hoping to do the DIS-Con Cruise in 2003. Besides, I'm sure I would be waaaay too tired from DIS-Con.

I'd love to do the cruise; but I can't afford that - have to save for the DIS cruise in 2003!!

 Hi Sandra. And what? You can't afford a cruise??? You could if you didn't temporarily move to Florida for 3 weeks. :D :D :D j/k :p Glad to see you posting! Miss you tons! :(

And correct me if I'm wrong....but aren't you the 'original' DIS-Con "Freak"???? LOL :D Wasn't she talking to you when she made that comment? :p

Pat, good thinking! If the BCV were open, that would be perfect. I would absolutely stay there for the whole time. I completely forgot about the BCV. When are they scheduled to open? I was told points wouldn't be offered until maybe Sept.

I am definitely thinking of a full week this time.. and I know two others who will be there then as well.. we need to coordinate the dates so that we are all there at the same time..

I agree Marsha. We definitely need to coordinate the dates because it was torture on me knowing that I had to leave while some of you were still there laughing it up! :( ;)

I only need a full day before, but I want at least 2 full days afterwards. I need 8 nights this time. :D Shhhh, haven't told Ed yet.

And Patrick, please don't go on the cruise. Some of us cried ourselves silly when others had to leave on the cruise on Sunday.....and we missed the cruisers while we were 'whopping it up' at MVMCP! ;) You gotta stay for MVMCP!!! :bounce:
