Hi
We will be booking our flights for NYC on the 21st Feb. Its decisions decisions. BA are coming out £50.00 less than VA. I am petrified the cabin crew will go on strike and we will then not be able to go. Its taken us months to organise sitters etc. Its only dh and I who are going. We are not leaving until 14th March. You never know BA may strike before or at least set up a new deal for thier employees.
Has anyone flown with both companies. If so who did you prefer. In my mind I would rather pay £50.00 more and fly with VA. Dh sais it would be nice to try someone else, even though he thoroughly enjoyed VA flight to MCO and would like to save £50.00
Any thoughts?

Virgin opperate some of the flights for continetnal (its marked which when you try) sometimes comes out cheap then Virgins own site.

Hi
Thanks I gave it a go, but it was over a hundred pounds more than BA.

I have flown with BA to NY and it was fine, I prefer Virgin tho. I would pay the extra as I would worry about that BA would go on strike.

Every year since I became a travel agent BA have threatened strike action - I can't remember it ever actually going ahead! but I agree its a worry, I'd personally go with whichever is cheapest.

BA are still cheaper overall by £50.00. I dont know.
I am so stupid since 9/11 please dont laugh at me I wont fly with AA or United. I see an American flight more at risk for some reason.

I would go with BA - I prefer them anyway, but £50 saved is £50 you can spend - if Virgin were cheaper, I would use them, but otherwise BA everytime.
Have you looked in the last day or so? BA have a sale, and NY is from £199.

My DH has flown both BA and VA.
VA wins in his book, hands down. We're flying to London from SFO in March on VA; didn't even bother to price BA for the trip (but there is *NO* way they could have beaten the price we got for our trip...no possible way).

I have flown with both and much prefer BA as I find them more professional and grown up whereas I perceive Virgin to be gimmicky and people think they are more cool but I just can't see it. Having said that we back to flying with Virgin in August because they were cheaper. If BA were cheaper it would be no contest.
Last year's BA flight was the best I have ever been on as I was much less scared than usual and manged to watch two films. But this may have been down to Paul McKenna and not BA. Who knows!!!

Hello,
We have flown with BA Virgin and AA and prefer BA for overall service but it is a personal view and my view could have been completely different I guess with different cabin crew etc
