Looking for pics of your kids wearing boutique/custom Disney clothes.
I have the princess outfits nailed but looking for inspiration on the more casual theme park original DIsney outfits.
Would love to see pics!! Thanks in advance!
Added July 2/07 - Well, this thread has come a long way in 6 months!!! 285 pages and over 4200 posts! So, if you are going to get through this one, pull up a chair with a nice cup of coffee and most importantly, some time!
As a shortcut, here is the link to a photobucket of all of the wonderful pics people on this thread have posted which was generously assembled by pixiedust_in_ak:

First of all, they HATE to try stuff on, so it was like pulling teeth. And these were in my crappy lighting bedroom. These are really well made and I just love them!
Ok, now on to the pics

She wore this first trip at 8 months old. It still fit he the next year so she wore it again (see siggy). It is actually monogrammed with her name - you just can't see it in the pic.

type in Disney Boutique
I love the denim overall ones.. but some of them on ebay (non disney) are just WACKY.
my daughters godmothers makes them a lot of clothes. I was going to show her some of the overalls and see if you can make some.
You can buy a dvd that teachers you how to make them.

I love to sew and make Disney outfits all the time. I am always trying to find new ideas for my outfits. This was my latest. Now that my daughter is getting older, she doesn't like the red and white polka dot anymore. :scared1: http://pic1.picturetrail.com/VOL1112/4366414/12451869/230729878.jpg

When I search Ebay I put "Disney Custom" in the search bar.
Also try "custom princess" or just "boutique custom" and then scroll through the listings. They don't always have Disney in the title so also try Minnie, Mickey or whichever character you're looking for.

I've seen two of the outfits on this thread on ebay lately! LOL I'm in the process of finding sets for them right now for our trip.. already got most of them lined up so I only have one days of outfits to sew myself. I actually make and sell custom boutique on ebay too but REALLY don't want to mess w/ sewing all those outfits LOL
So, give me about 5 weeks and I'll have 5 sets to show!

She's still selling, I just got my outfits. She doesn't have anything listed right now because she's on vacation. She will be listing again around the end of the month. You can also contact her then if you want her to design something.
I made a mistake, her id is bowznstuff _ boutique. Her store name is bowznstuff. If you go to the search feature for stores you can search by her store name and find her information. I'm not sure if I can link it or not.
If you can't find it PM me and I'll send you the link.

I bought the same dress (as first poster -polka dot dresses)in 4t for my daughter and the same shirt in size 7 for my niece and they just came in the mail today! What a coincidence! Here is a link to the auction i think her prices are very reasonable
seller name madison_mama
We are also getting overalls (a gift) from this seller - not sure which ones but they're all super cute:
store name :Little Purple Pumpkin Boutique
I also am buying mickey mouse twirl skirts from seller boutique*flair but the only picture I have is of her daughter wearing it ... and I don't want to post it without permission. It's realllly cute though.
I am also planning to paint some shoes and maybe some shirts/shorts. AND I am buying some disney polymer beads to make some necklaces/bracelets for the girls. I fully admit we are going a little crazy with the themed clothing! I had links but I don't have enough posts yet .. so i can't post them.

It's true we are overtaking the disboards... and bringing them the gift of children's clothing obsession.
To pp talking abouty painted shoes ... I mostly just want some simple ones with minni'e shead too and maybe some polka dots or whatever ... and figurd hey I can do that! I went out and bought fabric paint last week at Micheal's
I bought some plain overalls and white tshirts at old navy and found some pretty basic t-strap canvas shoes at target. I haven't touched the shoes yet but I've been trying a dr. suess 1 fish 2 fish design on the overalls and they look awesome so far.
it's a lot of fun!

for someone that wants to make their own dress a style like this would be SUPER duper easy :)
Just take a pair of overalls and cut them off at the waistline, then take a long length of disney fabric.. hem the bottom, and gather it onto the overall top (you can add a tutu under it if you like, or leave it plain) seriously takes MABYE 30 min. from start to finish

I guess I should have BIL paint some shoes too...guess he will be busy for 15 days...
I am also getting some ears embroiderd by Katie when I find a shirt for DD. Target has some basic tee's on sale this week so I think I will get that for her and ship off the red polo's I have the boys to her. Funny thing is when we were at Disney last December I didn't see any customs, lots of Gymboree though!

I showed my girls some pics of the cute disney outfits and it was just as I suspected, 8 yr. dd was all over it, but 10yr. dd thought it was too babyish. I was hoping I could match them. Oh well, a mom can dream, LOL!;)
I did find some cute boutique minnie tees on ebay in both girls sizes, so I might get them, and a couple cutesie outfits for younger dd. Any place to find "cooler" disney boutique for older dd?
Has anyone found Disney boutique clothing besides ebay? I saw the gymbo line and that made me wonder if anyone has luck finding stuff elsewear. I don't sew but we do like to make jewelry, maybe the girls can make matching Disney bracelets.
Cute pics everyone!!

Hi Everyone! I buy my fabric from someone online. Usually whoever has the most for sale. I use a lot of it!! I have never been able to buy it in the store and believe me, I've looked. I have been using more modern, geometric prints for the older girls. My littlest, doesn't want polka dots anymore...sigh...

I am. I have had it on Ebay 2 times and it won't sell. The overalls are really cute and I thought I had them at a good price, less then half of what I paid for them.

Anyone know if any of the boutique places do women's tops? I'm not crazy about plain t-shirts or even the Disney ones you can design yourself on Zazzle.com so I would love to have some really cute ones for our trip in May. Thanks for any info!!!

Where are the ideas for boys folks! I make them for my son and end up selling them when i am done! I LOVE to do it, but it is so much more boring for a boy. The girls are so so cute! I need some new ideas though! He is 4 now though so time is growing thin to keep making them.
I did Monsters and Cars for this past January. In the past I have done Peter Pan, Mickey and JoJo. Elmo and Bob the Builder for his birthday parties! It is so relaxing (kind of) but I am always so proud of the finished product! I'll ask my hubby to figure out how to post pictures!
I also did button down shirts for my cousin and me for a cruise years ago, then when DS came along made him shorts to match! Everyone comments on the outfits and my son just loves it!
ETA: I got it! I'll post more pictures tomorrow! I am so tired. DS does NOT like to pose for the camera so getting a good pictures is often nearly impossible!

LOL! Mine are 4T! I am trying to decide though, do I keep them and see if they fit next year or get rid of them now. The cars outfit has only been worn 3 times, his bday celebration twice and disney. And monsters only once! I think for all the time and trouble I want them for next year, but next year always comes and I think they look too short!
I can hardly ever find anything on ebay boyish. I look all the time, usually search boys boutique and the pickings are just so slim!

I know some of what that lady makes is from fabric where it actually had the princess on it (or dora) and she just appliques that one, adding to it to give it pizazz. You can normally tell by the faces, as they are extremely hard to applique. I know for sure some of hers are done that way. They are extremely awesome though!
Alot of what i do I look on the disney stuff I have, toys, books, etc and get it from that, transferring to paper then making it the size I need. It is really hard to find the perfect design in the perfect size.
If you go through disney fabric there are some out there that could be appied and then pizazzed to look really good too!

Looks on bolts of fabric, that is where the characters are coming from that aren't pieced together. PM me if you have any questions, I will be more then willing to help.
From all the overalls I have seen if they weren't made by themselves they are on ebay. I just search boutique overalls. I think I already posted that. You can try particular images but I find not many come up that way. I love to look and search, but I make my own. I am making a pair today in fact! Darn needle just bent though!

You sound like me, a big planner! I think right now the fabric pickings are slim, older styles from ebay might work. I went through all my old fabric and don't have much but I know I sold some fabric panels and pillow panels that were great and that I see on other overalls.

If you made that I would have to say you can make anything! Especially with that type of fabric! I cannot stand to sew with it, so loose! Great job on it!
Thanks. There are TONS of mistakes on it (the back was uneven so one side of the zipper in the back sticks up with ummm...no fabric! :lmao: We had to punt, thankfully she has long hair & it covered up all those mistakes!).
It was for Patriot's day at school when they had to dress up in colonial times. I didn't want to spend $175 on a dress she would wear one time (and she was INSISTING on something like Felicity wore for the ball on American Girl). However, after making it, I think I spent MORE but it became a challenge. :rotfl2:
I have made shirts in the past but the hems are always crooked and when it's a shirt, it's *way* more obvious than something like this where I could fudge a lot.
I just think all the outfits here are so adorable for little ones. My DD would not wear them though but she would easily wear something that was Disney that had a more teen/grown-up flair. Especially if I could make something we could match in (being as she only has brothers, she was a little jealous last time with the boys having matching shirts & she had no one to match with).
I'm not creative coming up with stuff on my own but seeing what others have done I can usually then start thinking of something, keep those pictures coming! :thumbsup2

Thanks! It has been almost like pulling teeth to get people to admit to where or how they got their overalls.
I am still waiting for someone to post if there is a particular site that people use for the actual character. Some of the characters are "real" fabric images and not just created from scratch.
isn't that the truth!

I am more then happy to help anyone. I am confused as to why you think that it "is like pulling teeth to get any info". I don't think anyone has any special sources or secrets! From what I have seen it is all normal fabric that has been offered over the years.

I only have a walmart nearby, Joanne's is a good hour away. So that is the only place I buy fabric, they are doing away with their fabric department cut by the yard though so are unable to order any more fabric at this time. It is a 3 yr phase out so other stores might be different. That being said though, they did have ariel the other day and some princess. I didn't check to see how big the ariel was as PP said it was, it might be too big. Besides that I haven't seen anything in a couple of years that would work well. Most of what I am being seen sewn and sold now was fabric from about 2-3 years ago. Ebay is an option to find the fabric, beyond that maybe a specialty quilt store. I don't have anything like that around to even try though.
ETA: I piece mine together, so haven't been on a search for the perfect size princess, etc but I do buy fabric so am familiar with it. I sold many bolts of what some are using. Just don't have any anymore.

Thanks for your help! The pulling teeth comment was because many people would ask for information but the individuals responding would respond to other parts of the question and never seem to say directly "I bought on Ebay or I buy my fabric at XYZ, I print from a computer etc." :flower3: Happy creating to us all!

FYI to all... Yesterday I bought overalls at walmart for 5.00. They were in sizes 4 to 14. The long ones. i bought 2 size 14's for my 7yo. I figured I could cut them into shortalls lol

I agree with the pulling teeth comment. I'm not into overalls myself, so it didn't matter to me but it did seem like people weren't willing to hand out their information.
What I am doing is buying different patterns and using different types of material. Here's an example:
I'm doing this pattern:
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c42/tadamom/M5083.jpg
And my material is an aqua blue w/lime green & turqouise Mickey heads and an outlined Mickey head in dk. blue all over the material. I am going to use that material for the top and I bought a matching solid turqouise to use for the bloomers. I can't wait to make it! I know the material sounds crazy but it is soooooo cute!!! I have some matching ribbon to make her hair bow with and it will have a Mickey head on it! For my son (he's 5), I am going to make him a shirt with a turqouise Mickey head on it to match.

I just found another Ebay seller that I like.
I'm having her make the Nightmare Before Christmas set that is on her "ME" page. It's too cute and my family loves NBC! My teen boys have lots of NBC stuff so my little one will look too cute with them. The seller's price was very reasonable. She also has a JoJo set up for auction.
I don't love the overalls for my little girl but I'm probably biased because I had three boys that I dressed in overalls so my little girl probably won't ever wear them. :rotfl2:

OK...
about the overalls....
I get them all from Ebay. I have several designers whom I contact before each trip to let them know what I would like them to make. I usually end up with about 5 or 6 matching sets of overalls for my son and daughter. My oldest son is too big for the oalls but he will wear the appliqued tees. I mainly just stuck with the oalls and shortalls, but now that my daughter is finalllllly potty trained, I think that I will get her the 2 pc set with the appliqued tees/tops and the twirl skirt. That will make it much easier when she has to go potty!!! They are a little more expensive but they are sooooo adorable!!!! And for my son, I will probably just get the appliqued tee and denim shorts/jeans to match his sister.
I definitely spend wayyyyyy too much $$$$ on these sets but I figure they will only let me dress them this way for a very short time and I am gonna take advantage of that as long as possible!!!!!!!!:rolleyes1
I have TONS more pictures that I would like to share but they are all on my husbands laptop so I have no idea when I will have the time to transfer them to my computer!!!! :headache:
Let me know if you have any other questions!!! Hopefully my computer will cooperate now!!!!!:woohoo:
EDIT...I decided to remove the names that I had previously posted...I can no longer give names unless I have permission from the sellers...I DO NOT want to get anyone into trouble!!!!!!!! SORRY!!!!!

I want others to have that opportunity too, because they are so so cute! Funniest thing is I never thought to have more then one outfit for each trip! This last one we only had two because I had just done his birthday outfit!
Love it, if and when you can get more pictures up!

You just need to do an advanced search. When you are searching, you will see at the end of the line "advanced search" click on that, then look at the left collum. You can select "items by seller"
Hope that helps.

The easiest way, it go to Ebay and type in boutique minnie, or boutique princess or whatever you're looking for.
I'm sorry to the people who have sent me messages. I can't respond to everyone. I go to school full time, and run a business from home, and have a 4 and 5 year old. So, I'm sorry if it's like pulling teeth. Do some research online. There are plenty of guides to making the overalls, and custom clothes are basically clothes made with patterns that are store bought or designed by the seller. Ebay in my opinion is still the best place to buy these outfits. I'm sorry that I can't do any transactions outside of Ebay. I have to budget my time or I get behind. Thanks for all the questions. At the top right of the Ebay home page is an icon for 'Advanced Search' - click it. The next screen you come to look down the far right column under FIND ITEMS and click 'items by seller'. On this screen, type in the boutique name in the box for the Ebay user's ID name. Exact matches and close matches will come up and then just either click on their 'About Me' icon or the store icon. Hope this helps!

IF I made "custom boutique wear" on eb@y or anywhere else, I would NOT want someone posting my eb@y store name or eb@y id on THIS site. I don't think I'd even want my custom clothing pictured here, IF I did custom Disn*y character clothing. Why? well, it's a c0pyright 1ssue and this is a Disn*y owned & operated website forum, right!?! ...
It's like putting a sign over your favorite seamstresses' or sellers' heads saying "Hey, Disn*y! Here they are." ...
I'm not trying to blame or argue "right & wrong" of the laws or the practices ...
I can see & understand both sides of that coin
All I know is that some/most of those ladies are just mothers that are simply trying to get by & aren't making enough outfits nor money to justify the risk of getting sued or even put out of business over, simply because it's easier to post someone's name directly, than it is to wait for a reply from someone personally.
I am NOT trying to upset anyone by saying any of this. It's just a thought to ponder.
Just bringing up the view from the other side of the coin. That's all.

I know one of the seller's mentioned above. And in that one case = she's a WAHM of two special-needs children, one of her little ones is actually handicapped. She can not go back to work outside the home; she can't afford the RN or RNA to babysit. She'd rather not do/sell character stuff, but that's what people what to buy & her non-character stuff does not sell. She's hardly making it each month as it is now. IF she lost her sewing/eb@y business over something like a simple post on a forum, she'd be seriously devastated. Besides, she has absolutely no hopes of any other income right now. She has no family or close friends or extra savings to fall back on. She can't get government aid, or even food stamps. They insurance hardly covers basic monthly medical needs, nor all their medications. Plus, it does not cover all of the monthly cost of her handicapped child's liquid diet.
I am NOT trying to upset anyone by saying any of this. It's just a thought to ponder. ...
Just bringing up the view from the other side of the coin. That's all ...
IF it were me that had posted those names = I'd edit them all out, asap. No offense meant. I know you gals were just trying to be nice & share info. But there's a much bigger picture to think of here, too.
Perhaps we could ASK the sellers' if they want to post their names & pictures here = that way it's their own choice to take the risk.
Good Night to all. :)
Well, the one's that are made from Disney fabric's they are actually legally okay as long as they say it is made from disney fabric's, not by disney.. weird how the copyright stuff works but they are legally okay.. now the one's that are appliques are NOT okay and I wouldn't post their id here..

I would hate for anything to happen to anyone, but I would think if they are selling it on ebay then they are pretty noticable? Copyright is a funny thing, there is alot of okay and alot of not okay.
Annaliese

Technically, (that word is used here quite literally) ...
IF the fabric states that on the sides of the fabric that it is for non-commercial use = then it's use in commercially sold creations is still up for debate ... there are likely many on-going court cases over that issue right now.
Personally, I think it should be okay, but only if it's "home"-made/custom-made stuff, ya know, definitely NOT used in mass-production in someone else's factories. But, hey, I'm not a judge in any court. ;)

Hmmm that's an interesting point. Here I was thinking if I mentioned certain seller's I was doing them a favor by advertising their products. I have noticed that a lot of seller's don't advertise "disney" but instead will just advertise as Minnie or soemthing like that for their outfits that are red polka dot themed.
I also wonder if it is an artistic representation of one of the characters but not advertised as such if it breaks copy right violations... for example fabrics sewn to look like cinderella ... but not advertised as cinderella.
You're right though i woiuld hate to see someone's business or lively hood harmed by people that are fans of it.

I see your point to a degree...however, first of all this is NOT a Disney owned forum. And I think it is FAR more likely that DIsney copyright monitors would be checking selling forums like eBay over this chat forum for potential violations.
As far as I know all of the sellers listed on this thread are eBay sellers. So, if they have their stuff listed on eBay I can't see that they would mind the additional exposure and increased sales which have been generated for them on this post. In fact, I have already made a purchase from one of the sellers listed by someone. I had never come across the seller before despite the fact that I have been searching in that category on ebay for quite awhile and I am a very experienced seller/buyer (over 300 FBs). So I think this thread (which I started BTW) is very helpful to both sellers and buyers.
I should also say that in my opinion I do not think the small-time mommy sewing operations for original custom Disney clothing is a lucrative market Disney would be overly concerned to be spending money trying to shut down. If I was a seller, particularly selling on eBay, I would LOVE the extra sales and attention generated by this thread to my auctions. In fact, at least a couple sellers have already posted their own ebay names/stores on this post.
Bottom line, I think most sellers would court the very small risk that Disney is going to spend time to send people into chat forums for potential copyright infringement and then further lawyers fees (very expensive) to try to shut someone down when in most cases (as you say yourself) they are not even making that much $ in the first place.
The benefit of exposure to the thousands of people who have already reviewed this thread and who may be drawn to make some purchases from them far outweights the risk.
Furthermore, if they already have their stuff with pics posted on eBay, what's the difference?
IF I made "custom boutique wear" on eb@y or anywhere else, I would NOT want someone posting my eb@y store name or eb@y id on THIS site. I don't think I'd even want my custom clothing pictured here, IF I did custom Disn*y character clothing.
Why? ... well, it's a c0pyright 1ssue and this is a Disn*y owned & operated website forum, right!?! ...
It's like putting a sign over your favorite seamstresses' or sellers' heads saying "Hey, Disn*y! Here they are." ...
I'm not trying to blame or argue "right & wrong" of the laws or the practices ... I can see & understand both sides of that coin ...
All I know is that some/most of those ladies are just mothers that are simply trying to get by & aren't making enough outfits nor money to justify the risk of getting sued or even put out of business over, simply because it's easier to post someone's name directly, than it is to wait for a reply from someone personally.

I agree that if they are on ebay, I am not worried about posting their names here. I am thinking about selling Disney custom stuff on ebay and am currently looking into the copywrite information. There was a woman in 02 or 03 who Disney went after on ebay for selling Disney stuff she made with their fabric. She won the court case with the idea being that when they sell the fabric they are expecting that something will be done with it.
I am not sure about people who applique images on.

I see nothing wrong with someone posting pictures of a sellers custom sets, once they purchase the outfit, it's all theirs and they can do whatever they want with it. As far as posting Ebay sellers name, I know most of the custom sellers are WAHM and would love to get there name out to bring in more bidders/buyers, which = to more money!!! I don't think anyone would get mad if a previous buyer recommended them to others.
I was following this post and was glad to see all the cute photos and info where I can purchase them.

Sounds good to me! I usually go to Ebay and type in "custom" and then go to clothing. Then I go to to infants/toddlers but you can go to girls or boys. Then I just scroll through the list. I usually look at the newest listed. I look at the Ebay site once a day and look through the newest listed. If you just search for Disney or even Minne, Mickey or princess you may miss some because lots of people don't use those words in their titles.

You can Eb@y search for =
"custom boutique"
"custom boutique overalls" or "custom boutique o'alls"
"custom boutique overall" or "custom boutique o'all"
"custom boutique dress"
"custom boutique set"
"custom boutique pant" or "custom boutique capri"
"custom boutique top"
Also, note = some characters' names are purposely misspelled, but are still find-able ... I won't go into the reasons "WHY" people do it, but Perhaps, Try these tricks to find some great creations in a new search =
swap your "i's" for "!'s" = like "M!NN!E" or "M!CKEY" or even "D!SNEY"
swap your "uppercase i's" for "lowercase L's" = like "MlNNlE" or "MlCKEY" or "DlSNEY" or "DAlSY"
swap your "uppercase o's" for "0's" = like "ELM0" or "D0NALD" or "P00H" or "D0RA"
swap your "lowercase L's" for "1's" = like "E1mo" (not as commonly used)
or swap "a's" for "@'s" = like "DOR@"
and of course, swap "*'s" (asterisk/star) for just about any vowel or letter = like "M*CKEY" or "M*NN*E"
IF people have used these swaps in their titles or listings, it'll come up in a search, if you type in these ways.
Good Luck :)
I think if someone did all that for looking for an item then they have too much time on their hands... That's almost a full day of searching.....

Oh, and if you guys want to find better deals add RESELL to your searches.. you can get some great stuff that people have used so it goes for about 1/2 the retail price usually :) I search custom minnie resell, etc.. and have found some good stuff for cheap

Hi Gang!
Since I realized that one of the ebay sellers did not want her site direct linked to I went in and deleted the link from a couple of posts.
Also, if you are an ebay seller yourself, please do not put links to your own auctions. You can list your seller name however. "No for sale posts" is actually the number 1 guideline for DIS posting. Here is the guideline itself: FOR SALE For sale ads are strictly prohibited on any of the DISboards. Anyone posting such ads will have their post deleted. This same policy applies to links to your ebay/auction listings . "For sale" posts includes requests for donations. If you are participating in or wish to promote a charitable event, please email the webmaster at webmaster@wdwinfo.com for permission first. (You will be asked to provide proof that the organization is legitimate.) Until your request is approved, we ask that you do not post about it on the boards.
Thank you!

Hi, I would like to add its all in the way you word your ebay listing. Ebay usually will just pull your listing if someone (another seller usually turns you in). Disney does have there people go thru ebay but usually will tell you to take it off or they will end it. Your most likely not going to get sued. They dont have the time to worry about a handfull of Moms trying to make extra money and be home with there kids! .princess:

<B>PLEASE READ!</B>
(on the main part of the "posting seller's contact info in a public forum or not" issue)
There's always a bigger picture.
It does not have to be just about DlSNEY or even eb@y finding out = it could be ANYONE.
Posting someone's ebay account info, (ie. their ebay id) or their store info, W-I-T-H that person's knowledge & permission is okay ... it's their choice.
But Posting someone's eb@y account name on a public forum is not a good idea, in general.
WHY NOT?
(*note = These Reasons are NOT the Only Reasons, Just SOME or a Few of the Vast amount of Possible Reason as to why NOTd... okay?!)
That info is directly related to someone's income & "work" AND their home life, their children, well, okay = their e-v-e-r-y-thing.
AND
That info can be very easily used to get that person's phone number & mailing address & their business-related p@yp@l account email addresses ... very possibly their HOME ADDRESS & PHONE NUMBER! :sad2:
Just think = Some sellers still use their home addresses for mailing, some actually have to & have no other choice. As well as, their home phone numbers.
...
Both eb@y (& P@yp@l?) suggest (if not require) that each member use their same contact info that they used on their credit card ... At first, doesn't it have to match exactly, in order to get the account? (that's a question) and of course, you can change it later, I guess (Sorry, that was a long time ago for me.)
Now, FOR INSTANCE = just imagine this ...
What if it's a "perv" scanning through eb@y for pictures of children & babies? like the ones that are used to model clothing in these custom boutique listing pixs? ... or even just an angry person who just can't control themselves over some tiny detail in a transaction ... etc. etc. ... now, what IF "they" want to know where child lives or goes to school, etc? ...
They can check the listings = see if the seller typed in their home town in their LOCATION line (on the top of the listing). no, it not there. okay. Well, what if that "person" is not satified by just looking there? they'll just request that seller's contact info through eb@y. Even IF they have place a tiny offer or bid on one of that seller's items to do it, OR even have to buy a small something, it does not matter, since they just want a way to get at that seller's contact info. ....
Now, think= what if that seller did not have a PO BOX & maybe coul not get one anywhere near her house? and/or ... what if she was luck y enough to only be able to afford one phone, her home phone? and/or ... what if she lived where there was NO cell phone coverage at all, even if she could afford one? and/or she's an honest person & a trusting person and left her contact info correct on her eb@y account And on her P@yP@l account? Also, it needs to be accurate for her transactions to go through, too, right? ... sooooo, her HOME Address and her HOME phone number has just been sent to _______.
Nice picture, huh?!
OKAY = we ARE talking BIGGER PICTURE, right!? =So, let's image al that happedned. *AND* .... YOU are a buyer of that seller (for instance) And NOW YOUR eb@y id is connected to THAT seller (for 90 days, the listing you purchased something from that seller are still visible to anyone looking for it!) ... you post pictures of YOUR OWN KIDS wearing those adorable outfits somewhere, anywhere *AND* you then post the name of the seller you got it from (OR someone else posts that's seller's name because they noticed where you got it from) = Now someone, ANYONE, can back-search through eb@y and request YOUR eb@y contact info! ... even nicer thought, huh?!....
okay, he/she "LIKES" what they see, eh?! (and nOT in a "good way, right"!) so, they proceed to back-search through all of that seller's transactions & the other pixs used, etc, etc, etc, etc ... it can just go on & on ... that's person bougt this from that person and she also bought from that person and that person sold to this person, too .... etc, etc, etc.
okay, you say = "well, I'll just report that person & their account gets pulled." = do you really think THAT will really stop them? They'll just get a new one in 5 minutes. ... or ... you say = "I'll get their contact info, too = so, I'll know who they are." Do you really think they are gonna use their own real info? They already know how people can mis-use that stuff. And what are you gonna do? call them? ummm, not a good idea. Report them to their police? whats that gonna do, you don't even know WHY they want your info (well, not YET you don't. and hopefully it will stay that way.)
Did you know you (at one time, pehaps still available) you don't have to be in a transaction with someone to request their eb@y account's contact info/phone number ... AND it's against eb@y rules to falsify your contact info (even if someone's doing it is for "a good reason", like protecting their privacy & lives AND that of their family &/or children.) ...
And even WHEN/IF you did have to be in a transaction with someone before you could request their contact info = THAT DOES NOT matter much = because all someone had to do is place a small bid or offer on an item of that seller & then their request (for eb@y to send them that seller's direct contact info) would automatically go through. OR just BUY something small from them, and then request the contact info. ... The seller and the asker would receive DIRECTLY FROM EB@Y (within minutes & without prior approval or more scrutiny) an email actually stating that info.
AND what if that person does not want it posted here/a public access forum, for whatever reason, or on any public forum? It's just not the best choice, especially when it deals with possible risk to that seller's eb@y account = that's someone's income, the privacy of their families & children, etc, etc.
This is just one side of one colorful block on the rubic's cube of life.
Try to look at the BIG PICTURE here. =)
That's all ... I am trying to say (stress the word "trying") ...
Even though the reason(s) to share a eb@y seller's info in this public forum were quite innocently meant, etc.etc. :) ... It would be so much more "respectful" (use for lack of better words, not to insult) to just ask that seller if they want to be advertised here, &/or ask to refer them & how they think that's appropriate or acceptable to them.
thanks. ...
WOW that are a lot of what ifs..
If a perv really wants to come after someone there are plenty of people who use their childrens pic in their auctions.

AND of course, I certainly HOPE & PRAY such things do NOT happen to anyone or their children or families.
thanks. ... wholeheartedly, I thank you.
Personally...:surfweb: I think that if that person chose to be on Ebay to sell their stuff that is their doing. They know that word gets around and people either like your stuff that you sell or they don't. If they are not wanted to get noticed by some of us DISboard members or other hundreds of web pages...I guess they shouldn't do ebay and should find a "safer" job in your eyes. If (now here I go wiith the "IF's) this person is so worried about being caught about something they have made then shame on them....maybe they shouldn't do that then; and if they are worried about safety of their family...there again...maybe ebay or any type of internet thing is not for them too.
Now it's time for me to leave for I can get my flame suit on.

I agree!! I was thinking something sounded fishy with this "new" poster. And when did Ebay become a "bad" word to be changed to Eb@y?
I loved seeing all the cute clothes and it made me want to get creative too. But now this thread is becoming political almost. If someone posts a picture of thier kids in cute clothes, there is NO difference in saying you got them at a certain EBAY store or Target Or Walmart, etc. If you put your items on EBAY then you are posting them for public viewing by normal people, pervs or whoever. If you want privacy you shouldn't post on Ebay, DIS, or any other forums/boards.

Anyways.....just wanted to let everyone know that I was in JoAnn's this morning and they had lots of really cute Disney fabrics!!! They had Minnie, Tinkerbell, Pooh, Princesses, etc. and they ranged in price from $4.99 - $8.99. They usually have coupons online for around 30% - 40% off. They would all have made some adorable outfits!
Not sure if I have posted this or not but this is a fabric that I got at Hancock Fabrics - can't wait to start sewing with it.

I am making outfits for 2 girls. The outfits are going to be a sun top w/panty bloomers and I will mix it up. One top will be print and the other solid blue and vice versa with the panties.

I agree wholeheartedly with your comments! If anyone who isn't comfortable with seeing beautiful kids in amazing Disney clothing please leave.
Our original group was doing just fine, thank you very much!!!
This whole thread has gone weird! It was a fun place to see what others kids dress like, get ideas and have a fun conversation. Now it is weird, I am receiving strange PM's about "secrets". HUH!
Anyone got more pictures to post! Love to see them!

I am not positive on this thread deal. I mean it looks great to me! I have no idea how much 327 yards is, I mean I do but not really to say it will last forever.
I know a spool of thread is usually around $3 or more at walmart, that is coates and clark or something like that. I have used walmarts spools that cost $.50 without a problem, but they are not as nice.
I paid $100 for my last set of 100 spools, it was online and it is embroidery thread and to me that was a great deal. So this for $10 seems great! Especially if you are newbie! You don't want a huge initial investment!
Also a tip if you are just beginning:
I like to use used clothes my son has already worn so if i ruin it no big deal! Just a thought, I usually don't buy him new overalls to sew on.

I dug up a few more pictures to get the thread back on topic hopefully! I cannot find "good" pictures, but here are some. I have a beautiful one in the Mickey overalls with Mickey on main street, castle in the background! But this will have to do for now!

http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s20/jessica52877/100_5101.jpg
The bottom front had a star on it too! This was one of my favorites. I think because of all the good pictures I got at disney with him in it!
http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s20/jessica52877/100_0003_00.jpg
Here is JoJo, again not a great picture! We never made it to MGM that trip and I sold shortly after but I LOVED this outfit too! Goliath was my favorite! I don't care for the tent much, but figure these things out after it is too late!

Thanks.. with shipping (which is to high IMO) comes to 28.00. It covers a lot of colors and saves me from running out and spending.50-$3.00 each one.
I did buy some used shortalls from ebay and I bought the dvd that shows me how to make the overalls. Now to buy some material and try to get some quiet time away from my 1 and 2yo to try it out.

This elmo pair was right after I got my machine before I ever saw one on ebay. I just wanted an elmo on his overalls. I had NO idea what I was doing, used fleece to do it with. It was cute, I even look back and think it was cute, but nothing like I can make them now.

One more to share for now. This was my son's Woody costume. I like to make homemade costumes for him, for now atleast. It was quick simple and cheap. Drew the lines on a shirt, bought hat and belt at disney year before 75% off. Fabric for vest a couple $. I actually just took a shirt to get an idea of how to make the vest. I am not much of a pattern person. I think the badge was the more then the whole outfit! I got it personalized at disney though! I have this hanging in his room, it is Toy Story, like Andy's room from the movie!

He has on a black turtleneck and black pants. Then I made the sword and shield from foam. I can't remember where I got a picture of the dragon from. I know we had the one from the disney store halloween stuff, but it was bigger then my son. I based the sword off of it though.
With the grey shirt, overcoat whatever thing, I just laid one of his shirts on top and cut leaving enough to hem edges and sew together. Boots were felt, the belt might have been too. I don't really remember. I think it is in with his baby things.

Thank you! I love/hate looking at old pictures! He is our only one and he is growing up so fast! I miss his long hair most! We cut it once, then let it grow all back out again, did it a third time but the curl just got wavy and everyone thought he was a girl so short hair it is now!

If no one minds my asking, how much do outfits like these cost to buy?
It seems to me anywhere from $50 to $125 for the most part. I can sell Dallas' used ones for atleast $50, sometimes $75 (have gotten even more). I think that boys sell for and cost less and they sell for less if they are size specific. Most ebayers make them custom after the auction so they have people bidding that want from a size 12 m to say 6. So many more people bidding on one item.
I posted a picture way back somewhere of Elmo and my friend got her's for $25, the lady got a ton of negatives after she purchased and took 3 months to receive them, but she ended up getting them. I think she got overwhelmed with selling so many so cheap. After buying the overalls and fees she couldn't have been making $10 on them!

I made one shirt for my DS last year, it had 3 firecrackers that had trails to 3 stars on the shirt (it was for the 4th of july). It was all appliqued, I had fun with it. If you check out my webpage (myspace) you can kinda see his shirt. DH cleaned out my desktop, so I don't have any of my pictures on here. When I get them on here I will post one.
I bought a cute pair of shorts and a shirt on ebay a couple weeks ago for DS for Disney. I don't have in the shorts yet, I am excited for them. Even though I can sew I can't help but want and admire others work :) Such wonderful talent out there!!:goodvibes jen

Umm.. pattern?? what's a pattern?? :lmao: Seriously though I usually totally BOTCH patterns and do much better when I just wing it :) For this dress I took a white t-shirt.. cut out the skirt piece.. appliqued it, sewed it into a *circle*, gathered it to fit the t-shirt, sewed it onto the t-shirt, added the hem detail and then added the ribbon sash.

Love the ideas on here, I plan to show DD the thread so she can get some ideas. I plan to make her several outfits for our summer trip.

I made this myself. It was really easy. I make custom bows so I just used the grosgrain ribbon. It was cut into 4" pieces and then sewn onto a piece of elastic.

I love sewing and have made my DD7 many heirloom dresses with smocking and embroidery but this is a whole new field! I love the idea of using wild colors and lots of ruffles. Luckily she likes that stuff too! I went to youcanmakethisdotcom and had the best time! Unfortunately, most of the patterns are for the 6 and under bunch! I can adapt!
Zanytoes, I have to have a pattern. And I have to have something I can copy. I have the mechanical skills, just no imagination! HA! I guess that's why I read through this thread every other day.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for that website. Most of the clothes were too young for DD but I loved the pinecone one they had under home stuff. I might get that and make those for Christmas presents. I also love looking at all the ideas. DD has an American Girl doll though & so she would so love to make clothes for her dolls. She is also wanting to really learn how to sew, she made pillows for everyone for Christmas this year and they will be doign sewing in home ec. soon. She can't wait. Although, I did warn her they way I've taught her may not be the proper way but it works for me. :rotfl:
I do need a pattern but I always screw up shirts, maybe I should try winging it & doing what I think is logical. It might actually turn out better.
Sometimes the patterns confuse me more than if I just did it probably. I did take a Suddenly You're Sewing class when DD was little and it was a very good class. I just didn't really have a lot of time but I did actually retain some of the things in my brain but definitely not everything.
I like the Applique stuff -- that looks like it would be so easy & you could really customize stuff. Never gave it a thought before.
Keep the pictures coming! :thumbsup2
