Deep Space

I was just thinking about Mission: Space when I got the idea for this thread.

Well, as you know, Mission: Space is about deep space exploration on Mars.

So. What if NASA or another space agency told you that you were going to be an astronaut on a deep space mission to Mars?

How would you feel about the choice that was made? (This choice was made with your consent. *Edit* )

Would you want to go on this mission? (Assuming that you can opt out at any time.)

I would ask myself... Why me? I know absolutely nothing about anything that has to do with controlling a shuttle!

As to the O.P. Why would NASA tell me I was going to be an Astronaut on a mission to Mars without my consent? Wouldn't I of had to be an Astronaut anyway.

I would be incredibly nervous, but that goes without saying.

I know it would be an honor, but no, I wouldn't go. I'm not interested in all that training I couldn't handle (I have not suffered from motion sickness since I was little, but I don't want to bring that back), and it's just not something that interests me. It'd be pretty, but I wouldn't get as much out of it as someone who was passionate for it would.

i don't like the feeling when your stomach leaves me.

i get horribly motion sick.

so i'm pretty sure astronauting would not be the best profession for me.
