Hello everyone, this is my first post and I have a dilemma that I would like some help with.

I will be going to WDW in August, staying 4 nights in Saratoga Springs, followed by 3 nights on DCL. I plan to leave either on August 25 or 26. Currently, Sunwing is offering one way to Orlando for $79. :goodvibes .

My dilemma is on the return flight. Sunwing currently shows on their website flights on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but only up to May 2007. After that, they only have 1 weekly flight outbound on a Sunday, and 1 weekly flight inbound also on a Sunday.

I was told by DCL not to book return flights earlier than noon on the day of disembarkation, Sunday Sept 2, while Sunwing's return flight leaves at 10:30 a.m. I know I won't be able to make Sunwing's Sunday flight. I have called Sunwing to see if they will have more flights throughout that week but they said the September schedule won't be out until March.

Should I catch the $79 deal and book the outbound flilght now and hope for something to come up later for Sept 3 return? Does anyone know if Sunwing operates on a similar schedule (Sun/Mon/Wed/Fri) in September? Has anyone gotten a sale from Sunwing in September. What is the likelihood of other airlines (leaving from Pearson) offering one-way seat sales for September later in the year? I am afraid if I hold off booking at least the outbound flight I would miss out on a good deal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From someone who works at Pearson airport, and for a charter airline, I can say with 99% certainty that Sunwing will still only have the one flight a week to Orlando in September too.
Sunwing, being a charter carrier, is in the business of flying sunworshippers south during the cold months. Charter carriers drastically reduce their schedules during the months of May-October, just not enough business to justify it.
Try looking into what a one-way back on Air Canada or Westjet is on your departure day. The major carriers now sell their fares as one-ways too without the penalty of not booking a return flight. I know it won't be $79, but when you total the two legs together, you might end up with a somewhat decent price.
Or better yet, fly out of Buffalo!!!, but that a whole other story.
PM if you have any questions.

Have you considered flying out of the US?

I know that some have made their flights in time but I would not chance it! You never know if you can make it off the ship and then what if there is traffic back to the airport, etc.

Thanks for tip about sunwing in August. I was just about to book through Air Tran through Buffalo for our trip. I was just going to surf through the boards one more time before booking :surfweb: and "Voila" your post lead me to sunwing. So even if I can't help you (although maybe air tran can-they have flights leaving after noon that day) you have certainly helped me.:thanks:
