Question about Universal Vacation and the Beach

My family DH, DD10, DD9, DS5, my mom and of course me are going down to Orlando for a week this summer. We are planning on getting the 7 day passes for $85 and probably going to universal studios, IOA for 4 days or so. We also want to go to the beach for a couple of days and I was just wondering what has worked for others.

The only thing I can think of is driving to probably CoCo beach for the day and then going back to our hotel in Orlando or actually checking out of the hotel and staying by a beach for a couple of nights.

I was just wondering what others have done and how it worked for you.

Coco is not that far away, about 45 minutes. You can do it in a day and go back. Then the next day you could go over to Tampa Bay and check out the Gulf Of Mexico. About an hour drive that way.

But two bodies of water within driving distance, and each is different....though its all wet, big and blue.
