Saturday was unexpectly crowded at DCA. I believe the wind once again destroy the magic and the fireworks was not shown AGAIN! Night time is still a bit cold but not cold enough...

I went on Mon and Tues... both days wernt busy. Space Mt so so unbusy that they didnt need a person to control the fastpass line and the standby line... all the standby has to do is to walk around...

This is news to me. Why is the castle boarded up? And what do you mean by boarded up? Can you still see it, but can't walk under it? What's the deal? Thanks for any info.

The castle is boarded up because they are painting it removing the 50th stuff. You can see the top you can walk around it but not through it. There are some pictures in the mouseplanet update from last week http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=dl070123xx

It was boarded up yesterday (Sunday). I tried to see what they were doing. It looked like more than just painting. We thought it looked like they were doing work to the drawbridge - like they were working inside the drawbridge, not just surface changes. I really hope I'm wrong and the work is finished quickly. :confused3

My brother was there recently and said they drained the moat first so I guess they are freshening that up too! Hopefully it won't be too long before its all nice and fresh and completely visible again!

Has anyone heard of a possible date that the boards might be removed? We are going on the 10th-11th and I hope that they are down. I havent been since 1996 and DH hasnt been since 1984. Please, please, please Disney... work with us here!

I have heard both dates of tomorrow and February 9th if the weather cooperates for it to be back to normal. I don't think anyone really knows for sure!

Correct, the castle looks as ugly as hell though... The Castle paint looks complete, not too sure what color they are painting it but its white. Maybe they paint it blue? the reason why i think its ugly is because its still got the pink lights and it doesnt look nice.
