Hotel is ok - ask for a room on car park side as roadside can be a bit load - it is a good location for Disney and I4.:thumbsup2

Seems like a good price, its less than we are paying for only 2 of us to go in August! When are you going?

Heres link to my thoughts on the hotel. Thankfully we only paid £20/night its not worth anymore. Hopefully ours was a bad room and you get something better.
Would advise carpark side if you are bothered about noise from I4 and upstairs room then cockroaches have less chance of getting in.

Sorry I have to fight the Comfort Inns corner.
Firstly we have stayed there 3 times, and have been very happy. O.K so the rooms are probably not the best. I have never seen a Cockroach, although I'm not naive enough to think they don't have them.. this is a sub tropical climate what do you expect! look more closely elsewhere even upmarket places have problems..... The buffet breakfast is great for the price(if not free) yes places like Sizzlers are cheaper but I would'nt eat there again. If staying on site is not an option and budget a consideration then the location is brilliant. We personally love the crossroads area, much nicer than the 192 or I-Drive, the second I would only stay at if free or v.cheap. If we was not part of a two centre package plus extra days I would definately be staying there this year. Things may have changed since the last time we stayed there in 2000 but I think the place is fine and you got a good price.

Sorry I have to fight the Comfort Inns corner.
Hi Debbie.
I dont give reviews and experiences to get into fights about hotels, just to give comments on how we found somewhere and to help others make decissions. i am not saying dont go to this hotel, just a warning how we found it, and a little advise how to hopefully get a better room than we did.
With all due respect I am not sure a stay 6 or 7 years ago can be compared to a recent stay, hotels in Orlando change hands and differ in standards from one year to the next. In fact I am not sure if it has changed hands as all the staff had Rosen badges on. If thats the case maybe previous owners let the hotels standards go and new owners have to rebuild the reputation.
Personally I would rather know of peoples honest bad experiences, I think its better to know the bad points before you go somewhere instead of getting there and finding out yourself after everyone saying its great, no problems etc etc..
I think one of my problems was we had such a great stay across the road a few months earlier at the Courtyard by Marriott £26/night free wireless internet in room. Then we stayed at comfort £20/night +£6/night wired internet. Exactly the same price but I would class 1 a 2 star the other a 4 star. They are not in the same league.
I just hope we got a bad room and others that go have a better experience.:grouphug:

I didn’t want to get into a fight about the C.I and I do take on board all you have said and on one of our stays I looked at 3 rooms before accepting one. The point I was trying to make was, yes, its not the best but price and location outweigh this for us. If we got the same deal and location different hotel I would probably try that. Its just that nobody seems to say anything nice about the place and I know its a personal choice but some people (not including you on this Wayne) will complain about the slightest of things rather than just be happy they are on a holiday that some people only dream of. – Rant over, sorry if I offended anyone it was unintentional :flower3:

No offence taken here Debbie,
Have to totally agree with you on location, out of the 14 visits we have made to Orlando we have found this to be the best location, I drive comes bottom of my list also.
I am still looking for a hotel for Easter( and August), if I don't find anything else I am really tempted to go back to C.I. which I can get for £22/night incl breakfast so I can give it another chance and hopefully give better reviews. I don't like slating a hotel on 1 visit. If I get the same standards as Xmas I will be taking photos and complaining to the management. Still hoping for a good offer somewhere else though.
Have a good weekend
Wayne

Yes, not done it myself but I would say a 10-15 minute walk you have plenty of places. Orlando Ale house for drinks I would think is the best palce, Last August they had Fosters lager $2/pint all day everyday, Pitchers of beer (cant remember what) $5. They have lots of offers on, we eat there not drink.
There is Olive garden for Italian, CiCi's for a cheap pizza meal $3.99 all you can eat, new carvery a bit pricey I think around $22/head but is supposed to be very good. Jungle Jims, Macdonalds and loads more.

You must try the Olive Garden.. it's on the corner of Palm Park Way.
Also, TGI Fridays.. which is on the Crossroads complex, just round the corner.
Both places are great for evening meals.
We stayed in the Courtyard by Marriott on Palm Parkway a couple of years ago (great deal.. got 8 nights for £200) - a lovely room with wireless internet and a balcony.. and so convenient for DTD etc.. I would certainly recommend it.

also is there any where worth driving to around orlando as i see the hotel does free buses to the parks which seems better if u like a drink.

HI
I am new o the forum but have visited Orlando and Disney 5 times in the last few years
I think that the price you are getting is good but have just booked for April flying with BA from Edinburgh, staying on I drive (i like it) in the Best Western Plaza, and car hire - taking a friend and her son (7yo) who have never been to Orlando before and its costing a grand total of £2196 - including park passes (Orlando 4 park and 7 day Disney premiums) - should be fun........

Welcome Merlin307,
Glad you got a good deal with BA. With all the problems they have had recently and talk of discounted tickets out of curiosity I thought I would check with them for our Aug flights (already booked with Virgin) 2nd-27th Aug over £800 each still, glad I went with Virgin.

To get to everything you just walk back down Palm parkway you will see Crossroads on left or bit further back to the junction to Olive gerden or Ale house across the main road.

for an idea of location and how near to crossroads ect check out
www.local.live.com its microsofts version of google earth but a website instead of a program and as a great chance all of orlando is in high res and really easy to see ,we`re staying at the comfprt inn in nov and i`ve been able to follow the route from airport to hotel to see what the roads are like
it seems to be pretty recent as well but maybe someone who has better knowledge willbe able to confirm that!

Not seen that site before, not very up to date with pics in UK though, it shows Red BMW in our drive which we had from 1999-2002, Had a blue until 2006, then Black since then. Google Earth shows our Black one which we have had since March 1st 06.

i know some areas in the uk are not up tp date as i have heard from people in other areas in the uk its up to 5 yrs out of date ,in peterborough it was done last july (i can date it from our local schools building work!!) so i wondered how up to date the orlando area was as it seems to be differing to all areas!!

Just been looking at the 192 area and looks a lot more up to date Watermania closed its doors Sept. 5th , 2005. and it took a while to remove the slides etc. the ariel shot shows it all cleared.

also if you move it along to I4 junction all the roadworks are in full swing.
I would say this area has been updated in the last few months.

brilliant news !! thanks for that ,i knew an expert would be able to spot those kind of things ,it just means you can get an idea of the road situation and wow they are big!
