I just wanted to send a shout out to all my swap friends. Even though I have not met any of you, I feel like we have this great little community here on the DIS.
Maybe just a little cabin fever, but I wanted to post to let you all know I appreciate all the work you do, hosting swaps, angeling swap spots and spreading cheer and kind words or each other.
I am mostly a lurker and a sometimes participant, but I check in just about every day to catch up on the daily antics - and you know who you are!!!!popcorn::

Hey Julie!!
I know the feeling. This is a wonderful place to come to you when you need a pick me up, a pat on the back, a hug, or a laugh. It has it all. I too love to read about the antics. Could you just imagine if we all took over a hotel at WDW? My sides would be in pain from all the laughing.:rotfl:

A DIS-crop at WDW - now there's an idea! It would certainly cost less for me to come over on my own - would the DS's agree?:rolleyes1
Trouble is, between yacking and Disney, how much would we scrap? (Because we'd have to build in time for :drinking1 :drinking: :ssst:

Julie, that's so sweet! I started out as a mostly lurker here too - it didn't take long before I was a swapaholic!
I think with more than a year to plan and save we are going to have quite a crew descend on WDW in 2008! Forget about scrapping when we're there - think about the scrapbooks we would each make when we come home with all our pictures!
And Julie you're not too far from me - I'm on the Northshore of Mass. We have a lot of New Englanders here. Were we still talking about getting together sometime to put faces to names? Like the Evil Maria. ;)

I don't know - how many different directions are people coming from? With all your experience charting the path of the pizza box, I nominate you to figure that out!

Hi Julie!!
I agree with you all. This is my "happy" place. I have to check in with my friends every morning and evening! The people at work look at me like I am weird (ok, I am. . .but don't tell! :rolleyes1 ) when I say, "My friend so-and-so who lives in blah-blah-blah does this or had this happen at Disney or whatever". It's a great thing we have going here!!
Look out WDW, here we come in 2008!! When in 2008 are we talking about?? I know we don't know specifics, but summer, fall, winter? Just wondering how I could convince the basketball coaches that we did NOT need a game during then!! ;)

A couple of questions -- do you like WKLB at their new place on the dial? What exactly do you DO with M&Ms?

ALL my family, friends, co-workers think I'm mad spending so much time on these boards when our last Disney trip was 2005 and our next one probably won't be until 2009. Except for DS(7) who thinks I'm planning a trip "soon" (anything which isn't "now" or "tomorrow" is "soon" :rotfl2: ).
If the family will agree to me abandoning them to DH's cooking I think term time would be good as the kids will be busier and less likely to miss me  and of course cheaper :woohoo: but I'm not sure how your terms work. End January any good? I could claim it as an early birthday present:rotfl:

The dates for the crop are August 21-24 2008
....at the Yacht Club!! :cool1: Loved staying there!
I'm all for any time of year but this is soooo much fun! They have classes and swaps, big tables, prizes, and WDW of course! OMG can you imagine our dinner resevations, um yes I'd like an ADR for 30 at Cinderella's royal table please. I think the only issue we would have is some schools are already in session.
And we would have to make t-shirts!!!
here is the website if anyone wants to check it out. Click on view all events.

Ugh! My kids start back about than.. ;( Can I still get a t-shirt and be on someone's speed dial?? I wouldn't think twice about going..but that will be the year my dd is a FRESHMAN in high school... OMG! I'll keep it in mind though and still be pre-planning in case something changes.. I expect daily updates and photos... and than everyone must leave a space in the pictures for me.. we'll just put a little arrow that says "PrincessNancy"

That is our first week of school here too. My youngest will be going all day for the first time. I'm not sure how they would feel if Mom abandoned them on their first day of school to go to WDW with her imaginary friends.

NEDisneyFans - I'm in Peabody. I like both of the whopping two country stations I can get on the dial here. It's all I listen to. And my M&M tag comes from a discussion we had about how we eat them - by color, etc. I like to make little flower shapes out of mine first - yellow petals, brown center, green stem. I know, I'm odd.
AWM - We're imaginary!?! Funny, I feel real. But maybe that explains a lot. ;)

OK so maybe scrapping and WDW is out. Soooo when do we go? Summer is so hot. But it may be the best time to go. What to do??? You sports fanatic throw a kink into our plans too. (Nancy);) :rotfl2:

My kids think so. They don't understand why I care so much about people I've never even seen. So to them it is like having imaginary friends. ;)

That's right at the beginning of school--in our counselor crazy time!! It's also the beginning of football season, so I guess that leaves me out.
I like the idea of us all meeting somewhere, though.
AWM--I know what you mean about the "imaginary" friends. Do you think we'd show up if we took pics? We'd be the only people with actual pics of our "imaginary" friends! ;)

Still the school holidays here..... I could send the family to Discovery Cove and scrap! Somehow I can't see Dh agreeing to a £6,000 holiday just for me to "cut holes in some photos" - especially as I'd need a whole case for my stash:rotfl:

Gotta love the Dis - even when you don't have a trip planned for the year, it's still a great place to come in and visit. I hear you about the cabin fever - here in Kansas City, we had such a mild start to the winter that it's been really difficult the last several weeks with 2" of sleet and freezing rain, then 5" of snow and now, frigid temps. BRRRR....the only good thing is that you can't feel guilty staying in to scrap!

I've got it bad too. I am so kicking myself for going over budget during the holidays. A trip would be so nice to look forward to.
