pirate: What do you all think? Pirate 3 Premiere?

Do you think it would premier that early???

Well, I think we can rule out some weekends in May.

Grad nites start on May 17, 2007. They would need to have the premiere before then. The bleachers take up too much space on that side of the park and would interfere with Grad Nite.

May 14 is Mother's Day. They have the big brunch at the Disneyland Hotel and many Moms pick Disneyland to celebrate the day.

well it is the same time as the last premier. Guess were going to have to wait it out and see.

Hmmmm...I would like to "pick Disneyland" to celebrate Mother's day. And my birthday. And Halloween. And Thanksgiving and Christmas. You think dh will go for it? Naaaah.:lmao:

Uh... Mother's Day? Isn't that the one day where your DH would have to go for it? It is in fact, a day. Intended for your use. So, you choose to use it for Disneyland. Whatever Mother says on Mother's Day, goes.

I'm sure that is according to California Law. ;)

Well then, I shall aim higher and decide to spend it at DL Paris, perhaps. I think I would prefer to sail there, though. Or do I just get to decide on the one day?:rotfl2:

You might have to do the entire trip in that 1 day so I would go with DL Less travel time!

Paris? That isn't covered under California Law. :lmao:

And thanks for all the kind words! One must always be polite and loving to their mother, for she has given you so much. There would be no Disneyland without she who gave you life. And a husband would be lonely without his wife and children, so the fathers must also honor Mother's Day.

Besides... it's just one day... ;)

This goes both ways. You must honor good old Dad on his day as well.

Not sure how different it would be, because I would most likely want to go to Disneyland too! :rotfl2:

Oh, good. Then we can all leave the house while dh spends the day peacefully watching old episodes of Stargate while chowing down on an endless supply of chicken wings. That's easy.:rotfl:

A person on another board called DLR about this date and was told that the park was being closed early because of a Travel Agency convention.

That should be easy enough to verify. Be back in awhile.

Yea, it sounds a bit early... considered that Tom Sawyer Island modifcation to Pirate island doesnt end until May, maybe it just some random private party...

I'm making ressies for this weekend right now. If it turns out to be a convention, no worries I'll just cancel. But if it's the premiere, at least I'll have a room!

I have a friend who talked to a DL CM (Jack Sparrow)

and he said nothing's been told to them yet about the premier...

I will be in Cali the day the movie comes out and already have a "date" with my San Jose friends to go see it on the 25th~

...they dressed as pirates for last year's premier and said this year they need to find a venue that is more "costume" friendly...

One of our Dreams Unlimited agents did confirm a travel agent pow wow that weekend. On their website, it states there will be an event at Disneyland from 7:00 - 10:00 pm on April 22nd.

I had heard that Pirates was going to be in theaters May 21st of this year AND it was going to happen aboard a Disney Cruise ship in port. Sounds good to me but who knows for sure?

DCL will be in port in LA in 2008, not this year. They could choose to premiere it on DCL, but it would have to premiere in FL (not likely IMO). The Magic will be on it's way to the Med. in May. If history is any example, DCL could end up showing the movie before it opens in theaters - it would likely show on the ship during the Eastbound Transatlantic cruise. We were at DL last year when they premiered POTC 2. True, the bleachers took up the whole sidewalk area outside the POTC ride, and the massive screen was set up on Tom Sawyer Island. They did the whole red carpet thing... very cool from what I heard from friends who actually got to go to the premiere itself.

Boy, those sure match the hours of the last premiere. With the thoughts about grad night, etc., it makes sense that they would show it that much earlier. Kelly has a senior retreat that month. I HOPE that she's home that weekend. If she misses another premiere she'd be devastated. In fact, she & Brandi are already planning on where they will be staking out their spots. I think she'd probably miss out on a weekend retreat for the premiere... time will tell.

When we were in DL the weekend of the last premiere, all of the premiere staging came down with amazing speed! By Sunday all of the bleacher seating was gone, and most of the screen was gone as well by mid-day (and I believe the premiere itself was on Sat. night June 24th). Since April 22nd is listed as a "special event" for Travel Agents, it is not likely a movie premiere (IMO). Last POTC premiere it was actors, VIPs, Disney stock holders, and other muckity mucks. The general public could not attend the premiere, but many did see some of the stars as they arrived at DL. My guess would be that the event is related to some special travel package/incentive that DL is going to promo.

Check out this link and you'll see what a wonderful night all the travel agents will be having...so it's not the premiere after all.

I'm glad but sad...I will actually be there that week and I kept teasing my DH that I'd be spending the day waiting for JD...

But looks like we'll be spending a looooonnnngggg night at DCA instead. That's OK, we'll have 4 more days at the Happiest Place on Earth after that.

DL's premier for POTC III will most likely be the evening of May 19th. DL is closing early for a special event and I am quite sure it's for the premier...

I just checked their online calendar today and saw this note, thought I'd share with you guys here...

Mouseplanet reported this clousure in the update a week ago here is what it said...

"Due to a private event on Sunday, April 22, 2007, Disneyland Park will be opening at 6:30 a.m. and closing at 4:00 p.m. Disney's California Adventure Park will extend its hours that day and will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m."

The private event in question is the opening night festivities for the Travel Industry Association, which is holding its "International Pow Wow" April 21 to 25 in Anaheim. The private party is scheduled from 7:00 to 10:30 p.m. inside Disneyland.

They also all but confirmed in the mouseplanet update this week that the pirates premiere will be May 19.....

It seems certain that the premiere of the third Pirates movie, Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At Worlds End, will be held at Disneyland on Saturday, May 19, 2007. According to a notice posted on the Disneyland Web site, Disneyland will open at 6:30 a.m. that day, and close early at 5:00 p.m. Disney's California Adventure will operate on an extended schedule, opening at 10:00 a.m. and closing at 11:00 p.m.
