Does Pal Mickey Need New Programming?

I have a Pal Mickey from last year and I thought I read somewhere that when I go back this year, I can have him reprogrammed (update his microchip) so he recognizes new rides and shows and has new information. Does anyone know about this?

Yes he will automatically be reprogrammed as you pass the sensors in the parks- That way he can give you all the up to date info on what's going on in the park at what time! :):goodvibes
