If you use exercise dvds, what are your favorite ones? Which ones do you feel like you get the best workout from?

I love The FIRM, but unfortunately my new place does not have as much room do it. I have Transfirmer and it's just a great workout. I've never gotten results as good before!
It might be hard for a beginner (not sure on your level) and sometimes the choreography is a little confusing, but it's a great workout. It's a little pricey though. I think $60 for 3 DVDs and the transfirmer, plus you will need various dumbells (I find pairs of 3, 5, 8 good to start with).

I love Cathe, she is a huge step up from the firm and you get great results. She is mainly what I do because she has great variety. I also love Taebo!

I didn't know there was 5 mile. Is it new?

I am a WATP (walk away the pounds) fan. The work outs are easy to do but still work.
I have several and want to new Walk Slim DVD's that she has out but haven't purchased those yet.
Yes the 5 mile is newer. I found it at Walmart for $13.88. I really like it. It is more advanced and you can do either the entire 5 mile, which includes 5 1 miles segments, or break it up into 3 mile workouts. The 5 mile uses handweight, ab belt and "stretchie" for 1 mile each + 2 fast miles. The 3 mile workouts include 1 of the boosters + 2 fast miles.

I have TurboJam that I have had almost a month now. I'm still getting to some of the workouts because I found I wasn't moving right and was hurting my shoulder and my knee (right shoulder, left knee). I love it but you have to stretch really well before you start because she kind of has a little warm up and then you start right into it. It's fun and there's variety.

I go back and forth -
Great suggestion is to go to your library and check out videos/dvd's there - if I use it more than once during the check out period, it has possibilities!! I cant tell you how often I've checked out TaeBo tapes, I've never even put them in the dvd! :confused3

Another at home exerciser here:cheer2:
I'm currently doing Fat to Firm for Dummies. Its a stability ball workout with dumbbells. Not easy to do but i like it. I've previously done WATP and The FIRM videos. Lost nearly 40lbs with the 2 of them and have gained very little back thanx to my job at Target(walking all day long). I find the best place to get videos from is Collage video catalog. Its fabulous. Haven't gone wrong yet. Bought a Giam set from Target once and hated it(but kept the ball).
Nothing like looking goofy in private:hippie:

You can also get them from Netflix to add variety to your workouts. So far I have found that I like the WATP the best.

I love the Tae-Bo workouts. The workouts have always helped me to lose weight. I am going to start using them again tomorrow.

Who is Cathe? Where do you buy her tapes?
Is she weights, cardio, both?:wave2:
Thanks!

Are there any workouts that are set to Disney music? That would be fun!

Richard Simmons videos are great especially if you are like me and not coordinated enough to follow along withsome of the others. In addition to the aerobics, he has several toning tapes out too.
If find them very motivating and the music is great. :cool1:

She's both. She is terrific. She has beginnger tapes, but even the intermediate and the advanced can be modified to you. Her website is www.cathe.com. She even has a forum for you to ask any and all kinds of questions. I've been doing her for 2 1/2 years and honestly, I've never looked better.

Hey- Thanks for the reply! I got on her website, and there are about 100 DVD's - I'm confused!! :confused3
Would you mind terribly if I asked you to list a couple of your favorites- or the ones you are actually using?
You have such a positive message about the program- I'd love to try it! I'm doing Denise Austin, and The Firm, but am always willing to try new. I've also done Windsor Pilates.
Thanks! Pam

I looked up the exercise shows on my On Demand and there was a 7 minute ab workout and the cardio workouts were only 2 minutes long. :confused3

All my workout tapes are VHS (since I use my old tv-vcr combo thing in the basement!!), but I really like Kathy Smith, some Denise Austin, and the Reebok Step series.
For anyone who is into these older type aerobics, step and weight workouts (like me), there are always many available on e-bay, usually very cheap.
