5/11/02 we need to start our cruise thread. Who out there is booked for this cruise??

DH and I will be there for our 20th anniversary any others celebrating something special??

12-09-2001, 07:42 PM
we r,,, was told by dcl rep that it is a sold out cruise, when we were on the wonder this weekend.....

12-09-2001, 08:14 PM
I spoke with DCL last week to ? an upgrade and there were still 14 cat 4's available and a couple 3's. But I guess that is pretty close to full for me. We just finished our flight and car ressies this pm I am really getting excited. :D

I have to ask- with a dis name of hygiene are you in the medical field??

12-09-2001, 08:29 PM
I'll be going in May.
May 10, 2003!!!
A loooong wait!:bounce:
Hi Goose & DH:)

12-09-2001, 08:43 PM
We just cancelled a cat 6 this morning so there is 1 room back on the market. We added on to our DVC instead. 41 years seemed like a better deal than 1 week:D

12-09-2001, 09:36 PM
We are on the second Western sailing (May 25th), as we don't like a lot of hoopla, crowds, etc. We did the same thing when the Wonder was launched...took the second sailing rather than the first. I can hardly wait...that will be our 22nd Disney cruise!! We will be in my favorite stateroom, 5650, so I look forward to lots of relaxing mornings enjoying breakfast on the verandah, lots of spa treatments on the days at sea, and lots of fun exploring new ports (plus finally getting back to Cancun).

We are cant wait,, is it may 11th yet got the airline tickets got the hotel ,,, the only thing left is town car to port canaveral...

start the count down,, thanks cmatt :bounce:  :earseek: :earsboy: :sunny:

12-10-2001, 11:33 AM
I wouldn't want to be on the first western sailing. I say let them get all the kinks ironed out. I'll be sailing one year after the first western sailing so I get to learn from everyone elses experience.

12-10-2001, 12:52 PM
Hi WDWgoose! We'll be on the May 11 sailing!!:D We're a party of three--myself, DH and DD (age 12)! My DH will be celebrating a birthday in Key West on May 12! This will be our third trip onboard the Magic and we can hardly wait!:earsboy:

12-10-2001, 02:37 PM
 Hi cmatt & HookedonMagic,
this is also our third sailing on the Magic but the first without the children. They will be speding time with the grandparents as we didn't want to take them out of school twice in the same grade for a vacation. (just had them out for two weeks, 10-13-01, Magic and WDW). :(

:sunny: :sunny:

12-10-2001, 06:13 PM
wdwgoose...I'm so jealous!! You and Garry will have a great time! Don't forget the green ketchup for Zita.

legs22...is DM going with you again? Can I stow away in your suticase?

12-10-2001, 06:46 PM
DH, DD and DS (4 year old twins) and I will be on the cruise. DH and I will be celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary. I wanted to wait until November or December, but DH says that's too long to wait and he has 100 hours of vacation time to burn. We just have to decide how many days were going to stay at WDW (the Swan/Dolphin promotion sounds great) and then complete our ressies. Pray for us that UAL doesn't go under, we have almost enough FF miles for 4 free tickets and want to use them for this trip! I can't wait to be on the Magic again. I promised DH that after 3 cruises in 14 months I wouldn't ask for another one for awhile (LOL)!! See all of you soon, but not soon enough:smooth: !!!

12-10-2001, 08:54 PM
 hi wdwgoose, we lucked out are kids get out of school may 14 th so we are going to take them out a little early two days,, but i know what you mean in 2000 we took a fall cruise, they missed two weeks of school,, blamed their grades on missing those two weeks early ! all year, so this time at the end,, schools out early in mo. for 1st hay cutting,,,,

:) :bounce: :earsboy: :sunny: :earseek: cant wait counting down the days,,,,

12-10-2001, 09:26 PM

HappyLady how was your oct. cruise everything you hoped it would be??? cmatt:)

12-10-2001, 11:18 PM
Hi, cmatt--Our kids should exchange email before the cruise--My daughter is happy to already "know" someone that will be on the ship!

Hey, Tay and Evies Mom--We met on our March 3, 2001 cruise! What a coincidence that we'll be on the same cruise in May. (I'm cruisn'cousins mom!:D ) How was your September cruise?

wdwgoose--It should be a GREAT trip...maybe our DIS meet can include a cake or champagne...something fun to celebrate everyone's special events! BTW, we're from Michigan, too. I'm from Sault Ste Marie and my DH is from Midland. We're in Illinois because DH is in the Air Force and is stationed here.

12-10-2001, 11:32 PM
 wdw goose sounds like a great time, maybe we can all get together for a toast,,, if everyone can find a min. quite hard i know :)

:sunny:  :earseek: :earsboy:

send me some of that mi smelt,,,,, cmatt :D :jester:

12-10-2001, 11:41 PM
:bounce: HookedonMagic great idea about kids e-mailing,,go to your pm and I'll give you names and e-mail address's this will be neat to know someone before the cruise,,,:)

If you guys are from mi. you can send me some smelt also,, I used to open K-Mart stores opened one in Ironwood MI. learned about smelt....:D

It sounds like quite a party and lots of celebrations have any of you gave any thoughts to off shore excursons yet???

 :earsboy: :sunny: cmatt

12-11-2001, 06:24 AM
cmatt my BIL always goes smelt fishing but personally I would rather not eat it, tried it once. If he goes this year I will have him save some and I will send it to you.

I agree we all should get together and celebrate. Our DIS group in Oct (which happylady was a part of) met a couple times. It really is a blast seeing familiar faces on the ship, (and off too- shared a cab with fellow DISers in St. Thomas)

It far exceeded out dreams. We had a great time and hope to repeat it in the next couple years. My major complaint was that there are too many things to do with too little time!

12-11-2001, 09:43 AM
We (me, husband, mom and dad) will be there! DH and I are buying the cruise for my parent's 30th anniversary!!!! We can't wait DH and I went for our honeymoon and were in cat 11. With STM we were able to get a verandah!!

Great to hear from you again!! We had a great time on our Sept. cruise. Perfect weather for the cruise and the kids were real troopers at WDW even though it was horribly humid amid the downpours. We flew back the Sat before the terrorist attacks. What a difference a week makes! I can't believe I convinced DH to go again so soon, but we wanted to go on the Western route and we received an offer from DCL for the returning cruisers so it was too hard to pass up. We were supposed to wait until March 2003 for the kids birthday's, but we're celebrating our 10th anniversary in July, so this will be an early celebration for us. I remember us standing in the water on St. Thomas talking and trying to keep DD from being swept up in the waves. DD wants to know when she can go to the "Big Pool and Collect Shells" again! Talk to you soon!!!

12-11-2001, 07:30 PM
DD & I will be on the inaugural western cruise. Celebrating a late Birthday and Mother's Day. Can't wait!!! :bounce:

Less than 5 months now!!! I can't wait!!
A Dis Meet would be great with a special celebration for all the occasion!!
We have to keep the thread going, it makes it all the more exciting to be able to talk to others going with us!!

Do you think they'll do anything special since it's the inaugural cruise????? We hope so!

See you soon!!

12-12-2001, 01:16 PM

12-13-2001, 07:40 PM
Well my DH was wrong yesterday was 150 days and today is 149 or so he tells me now. I have not yet learned how to put a countdown time on the post but I will work on it.

Peter are you celebrating your b'day at the port or at the sail away??
speaking of sailaways, we can bring little bottles of bubbles (the kind you have at weddings/parties) if everyone would like. Does anyone know what time they are arriving at the port yet, is anyone else staying at the raddison and taking advantage of the shuttle service to the port? (with the avis car return there also.) We will be arriving at the port by 1100. :smooth:
Is anyone staying at WDW before or after the cruise??

DH :jester: and I will be arriving in FL on 5/7 not sure if we will head straight for the world or if we will visit some friends in FL. I vote for WLR.

12-13-2001, 10:23 PM
We will also be on the 5/11/02 Inaugural Western Sailing!!! Can't wait!!! We wouldn't miss this one for anything! It will be great to get back on the Magic again to see all of our good friends that are on the boat.

Mr. J Cricket left the thread on my pm as to how to do this count down timer thing, wow are you kidding me who needs that aggravation, so if you got it, you did great,,,,

Hi Everyone!
Joe and Joanne checking in here. Hoping everyone has a safe and happy holiday season. We can't wait...just sitting here watching the Disney Parade wishing we had some snow. We have all the arrangements made (I think). Flight to Orlando...Town Car to Port...Radison overnight... and then our first cruise on the "Magic". We are traveling with DS and GF while we celebrate our 25th anniversary! :bounce: Sounds like this trip will be fun, however we do not understand the mention of "Smelts" but I guess we will find out soon enough! Has anyone figured out the counter? I went to the tech support pages but cannot find the technique? I need something to help me remember how many days left to sailing (not!):D Any Air Force retired or Actice Duty folks going? Me :earsboy: retired, Joanne :earsgirl: still on Active Duty till???? Hope we all have a great time. Does anyone have a jpg or gif of Sleepy and Bashful? Would like to add to our signature, thanks. See everyone soon have to put in the turkey! Enjoy:jester:

12-25-2001, 12:20 PM

Timer if you want to try it ,, e-mail Mr. J at teach help,,,

12-25-2001, 02:31 PM
Hi wdwgoose merry christmas, i did go to my pm, when you can go to yours for me,, thanks cmatt

12-25-2001, 07:43 PM
Hope everyone has had a safe and wonderful Christmas Day.

To Joe I was able to download a time that I found on the tech site but we cannot put it on our thread or signature. If you go to search on the discussion page and put countdown timer in there are several threads that are available one of which has a free timer you can down load, then set for what ever time you wish. DH has ours set for boarding time. We currently have 136 days, 17 hours, 17 min, until we are aboard the Disney Magic. :smooth:
Smelt are little smelly fish that are very plentiful in the great lakes esp lake Michigan in the early spring they are caught by the net full. (BIG nets with very small holes)

I watched the parade also and wished I was there until I saw the lines at some of the attractions then I remembered why we usually go the beginning of Dec., and May. Cannot wait for this May!!!!

12-27-2001, 06:54 AM
135 days 6 hrs 8 mins.

What I meant was sometimes when walking around the deck during the day, some of the bars were open to private parties only. Maybe this would be possible? On a previous cruise our TA had a party for us all. I will contact my TA and find out how he did arrange for a room with hot appetizers , we brought the wine.

:) I got something in the mail today from Vicki and Garry.......
thank you so much! I've been wanting name tags like that!
Santa-Goose came through!:D The date books are nice too! Is that your trucking co.? It was funny because at first I only saw the date books and wondered what was up with that. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But all the suspense for a date book? Then when I grabbed the paper I felt something inside.
Can't wait to go to WDW next month!

12-29-2001, 06:49 PM
Glad you liked your surprise Laura. I forgot to add the green ribbon though. I am really glad you looked inside the paper. DH says he is sorry he forgot your mother's name so he didn't get hers he said he will make up for it next time. Yes it is from his trucking company and the 800# works if he ever answers the phone. His business has been slow lately and the main company that calls always use his cell phone. (they know he will answer that one).

Hygiene99 I believe we will be at see on the 13th. I'm not sure though. I know Sun 12th will be Key West and I am thinking that Monday is one of our two at sea days.

Hey Phil did you get your surprise yet??

Beanoooooo ??????

My family and I will be on the May 11th cruise. Our first Disney Cruise. My wife and I are both 27yo and our daughter will be about 12 1/2 mos. We know it will be challenging with her, but we all need a vacation badly! Any advice from those who have cruised w/your infants before is appreciated.

Can't wait for Western itinerary. We did parts of the Eastern last year on Celebrity's Galaxy and the year before on the Big Red Boat. Never been to any of the Western ports of call.

12-31-2001, 07:34 AM

there should be plenty of help and suggestions to make your cruise better. are you from the cumber land gap area???????
dw is working she will be on tonight. other dw will or dm might have ideas. got to go move horses back later.

131 DAYS 5 HRS. 20 MINS. COUNTING ONWARD!!!!!!!!!!

12-31-2001, 02:34 PM
Thanks for the welcome. We are in Bowling Green, about an hour north of Nashville. Cumberland Gap is a few hours east of us, but I've been there a time or two. Very pretty in the mountains. I've actually already found a lot of great advice here for traveling with toddlers. My TA had told me there was in-room babysitting. I didn't know until visiting the board that this had been discontinued now that Flounders is available. Thanks for all the tips everyone.

12-31-2001, 03:19 PM
Count us in for the innaugural. It was a nice Christmas morning suprise for my family (me, DW, DD/5, DS/4). This'll be our third (two 4day Wonder trips B4 this one).
100 something days..and someone's counting.

wdwgoose--I know Hendersonville must be nearby, because I hear it mentioned. But I honestly don't know my TN geography very well. We are right on I-65 between Nashville and Louisville.

Thanks for the welcome. Happy New Year !!!!!

Yesterday was a busy morning getting Cruise reservations, DVC lodging for the two days before and the two days after, car rental, and flight res. All done in about an hour. I was amazed as all fell together quite well.

First time I have used Orbitz for flights, saved about $100 on each ticket. It was very easy to use.

We will be at WL on 5/9-10 and then at BW 5/18-19. Anyone else at WDW before or after?

Any divers in the group? This trip is in leu of our normal Spring dive trip.

We were on the 11/24 7day Magic and are excited about returning so soon. The Western itinerary should be interesting. Port arrival time seem kinda different.
I would speculate the 12pm arrival in Key West is necessary so they could do a character breakfast on that day, and then again on the days at sea.

Kinda late to get into CZM , would make it hard to get the ferry to Playa del Carmen in order to get to Chitza Nitza. Maybe time to get to Talum. There must be a requirement for ships to leave late from CZM so the down town bars can get the cruise cliental. Note the cruise dock is about is a couple of miles south of the main town of San Miguel.
Disclaimer: We have not been to CZM or GCY via cruise but have spent time on both diving.

01-01-2002, 03:57 PM

Hendersonville is about 20 miles north of Nashville, just east of I-65.

So you guys want a moderator/chat host in your group????

Scott H

But of course, the more the merrier.

wdwgoose, just noticed we were also on the 11/25/00 Magic 7day cruise.

01-01-2002, 04:51 PM
It truely is a small world. That was before I know about these boards and how to find the best way to do everything. I am amazed how much I have learned from these boards. It really made our last cruise 10-13-01 much better, plus we made many new friends.

Scott H
01-01-2002, 05:16 PM
I agree, these boards are like a support group for those of us with a good habit.

Growing up yeck, never. I am growing older but not up.

When we meet I will fill you in on my bad habits very close to running into burning buildings.

No runs is a good thing.

I hope Robin is planning on the 5/11 cruise.

01-01-2002, 08:15 PM
wdwgoose -- got the pin for Phil. He said thank you very much & will wear it with pride on our visit to WDW in February. I also love the pocket calendar much better than the one I bought last week. I've already transfered all my info to the one you sent!

Now on to trying to figure how to fit in another cruise.........:D

01-01-2002, 08:56 PM
Happylady if you all pick a date let me know we are rethinking the date for the Oct cruise - I am really having second thoughts about pulling the kids out of school. Maybe if I knew more that were going to be on the ship DH could talk me into it.:D

01-01-2002, 10:36 PM
How about 5/10/03?:)
I'll have to pull Molly out of school but it's one of the cheaper times to go also. And no hurricane season. But you already know that May's a good time to go because you're going this May. I don't have the funds to go this May.:(

01-01-2002, 11:00 PM
Hi there Happy Lady, WDWGoose & Legs22!!! Just noticed your thread...WOW...in 5 months this thread will wrap around WDW! Can't wait to hear the trip report from you WDWGoose. Christy and I will be on the Western during the same week (October 13th, 02) we cruised last year. Be sure to say hi to Zita from me as well (remind her that we constantly brag about her spectacular service at Palo's) I noticed that you are thinking again about an October trip...Sounds great to me. Can't believe the Lions beat the Vikes????

take care
Doug and Christy

01-02-2002, 08:33 AM
Yes, we have reservations on 5/11/02. All I am waiting on is official approval of DH's vacation. It will be DH and myself (36) and Matthew (7).

wdwgoose, I do hope we know where hendersonville is. We almost bought a house there a few years back. Instead we chose a different suburb of Nashville. :)

As for the countdown clock. It was a gift from a techie/webmaster friend. Even though he didn't know I would be cruising, the "Dreaming of the Magic" phrase is most appropriate.

I have no idea how it works or I would give you a copy. It is set for May 10 @ 2:00PM. That is when I expect to be at the airport leaving for the May 11 Cruise. Seeing as I will probably be posting to this thread every now and then, we will have it available to countdown the cruise.

My name is Darlene Riley and my husband and I will be cruising on May 11. This will be our 4 seven day cruise - our next one is February 23, 2002. We love the Magic and look forward to the new route.

My husband is Scuba certified, so he looks forward to the diving and I am certified in shopping, so we both have something to look forward to.

We are not celebrating anything - well, maybe Mother's Day.

I look forward to meeting everyone and having a great time on the Magic.

Probably won't go again until 2003. Just found out we have to have a new A/C installed. Well, the old one was here when we bought the house 10 years ago, and is probably @ 15 years old by now. :D We did some renovations to our house and the old unit just can't cool the house as it should be, not to even think of the cost from the power company to run a non-effecient system. (Is that a word, or did I just make something us?)

So for the time being I will cruise vicariously through my DIS friends.

Hi - Legs22 and okwmeister. Hope you are doing well.

Snow- NO THANK YOU! The chill is quite enough. It did snow in the panhandle, I believe.

Not sure on the date. 5/10/03 would be VERY close to the end of school for DS. I'd love to do the Western, though.

Taking my DDOG (Dear Dog) to St. Augustine on Monday to spend the week with my breeder. Hopefully we'll have puppies in March!!:D (not into breeding for the money...reallly want a show quality pup. Tried to show my current dog, but she is just too friendly and too attached to me. She constantly turns to make sure I'm still there and wants to stop to visit with the people seated around the ring!)

wdwgoose- Is this DH? Well, either way, you guys know that you are always welcome to come down! We have two extra bedrooms ready for visitors. Do you do dishes? I love to cook, but hate the clean up!

01-05-2002, 09:21 AM
Goose- so how much snow and cold do you have???
Do you also do plumbing? I need a plumber. And a cabinet man. You'd have to earn your keep:D

Happylady- It would be close to the end for Molly too. She'll be in Kindergarten at the time. But if I go on the next western on 5/24 she would miss the end of school. And then you're in to June which is big $$$$$. May is good for FL resident discounts.
Your DDOG will have more fun then I have been having.

We are getting close to the 4 month mark. This is good. Only back to work about a month from the last vacation to WDW and need another after last week.

Goose - 30 at sunrise that is a heat wave, it is about 12 here. Have to travel this next week to Cheyenne and it is predicted to be in the 50's. Time to break out the shorts.

I'll give you a hand with the South Florida project. I am the same way with building except I don't do plumbing. Today is fix or replace the garage door opener. Will let it warm up a little.

How many folks on the list????

Darlene - Will you husband be diving while on the cruise? I am sure Lynn and I will be.

We are looking forward to seeing what shore excursions will be offered.

01-05-2002, 10:26 AM
15 groups and counting - if anyone wants to PM or email us info ie names, ages (kids), we are compiling a list that we can have available on board. also include possible excursions so everyone will know who will be with them.

DH did a dive once and is considering continuing for his certification. I will stick to the snorkle tube. I tend to be less adventurous than he is. I like some of the others prefer the shopping certification end of the trip.

TnRobin I have read some interesting items about the hotels that are being suggested to you. Have you stayed at the Raddison before? We had been considering it because of the shuttle, but in reading the boards I have learned that since we have an Avis rental we could still have a shuttle to the ship. Now I am lookin into other hotels also. Keep us posted on the best ones out there.

01-05-2002, 09:35 PM
Dear Scott,

My husband will be diving - but not sure which port yet.

I wish we could read up on the different opportunities on the Western Cruise.

Do you know if there is anything out there yet.

Maybe they will have something on the cruise when we go in February.

He dove in St. Thomas and St. Maartain the last time. This time he is skipping St. Maartan and just doing St. Thomas.

He also dove in the Living Seas in December and he said he loved it and will never go to WDW again unless he can dive there.

Scott H
01-06-2002, 10:07 AM
We will most likely dive in CZM and GCY and skip Key West.

I am sure they will offer a trip on GCY to Stingray City and The turtle farm.

Being a planner type person I wish we had more info. It will be fun any way.

We have had snow all night and so far all day today. Though not much accumulation maybe an inch or so. It really looks nice as long as I can stay inside. I like to look at the new fallen snow from a distance!! (NOT your typical snow bunny!!) :sunny:

Sorry I missed chat- work work work it really gets in the way of life! 48 Hrs with 5 hrs of sleep.

Kinda confused what's up with shirts? I like the tie dyed.

Hi all:wave:
Still here and monitoring the board when I can get it. Since I had the day off I was going to read from November backward. NNNNNNNOOoooooo wwwwwwaaaaayyyyyy! Had to substitute Plan B, a day on the slopes. Did not break anything so at my age this is a good thing. Ok, now that the boards are back up
:smooth: what is the story on the night before? We will be at the Radison early pending no delays with the airline industry. We ALWAYS travel on the first plane out of the airport so we have plenty of time to get there should the plane not go or something... Any word on the tie-dies or others?

WDWgoose is this cruiser list somewhere where we can see it? Do we have an "official" get together planned?

Joe & Joanne
01-21-2002, 09:59 PM
Hi Folks:wave:
Flyers loosing to Pittsburgh:mad:

WDWGoose: : Whatever color goes well with it. Lime, Lime, or Lime. Who is keeping the "list"? Add us to the Radison 10 May. I think you have the email?

Others: For those celebrating annivesaries. I read somewhere that if we have a "Group" then maybe we can get advance ressies at Palo's? Nah! Maybe we just be better off with the wine party, I can not believe that I found Boones Farm Wine....any other sugestions for the screw-off bottles of wine that should be available for the wine tasting? :p

TNRobin: Where is the poll located for the night before? May have to change my two-bedroom suite?

BTW: What changes to the board are evident? I just about had all my posts read colored lime green. Now I have to start all over. Might have missed something so this is a good thing.

C:\My Documents\Disney Cruise\CRUIShirt.jpg

01-22-2002, 09:50 PM
Joe and Joanne - I think we could try for the group at palo's then we can also each do our own thing again if we choose I am not sure if all the dates for celebrating anniversary, b-day, etc are the same but it won't really make a difference.
I will bring a cork screw if I can get it through in my checked bag at the airport, if not we get anotherone on board. Last cruise I got two from roomservice with the cheese and crackers. This way the wine does not have to be screw top!! Please bring the boones farm I actually never had it and have always wondered what it was like. I will bring the First Crush from an Ohio winery. We did bring it on board in our carry-on bags last cruise. I am more concerned about getting it down on the flight (drove last time)

If any one else is staying at the Radisson with J&J, & us ???? we could schedule a DIS meet. What do the rest of you think?

DH is still working on the shirt design, awaiting the finished design to arrive by email so that he might forward it to all that would like to see it.

 :sunny: :sunny:

Joe & Joanne
01-23-2002, 07:09 AM
Hi Folks:wave:

Sounds like this is starting to come together. I will wait a few weeks before I get the Boones Farm so it is of proper age? Does anyone know if you can bring it on the Airplane in carry-on? Where there is a will there is a way. I know I wont have any problems with the dixie cups (ha!). It is almost February which means time is getting short, hope we all have our plans laid out.

Others: With all the talk about booking an additional cruise while on board, I was wondering if inkcognito will be joinging us? It seems Dave and Barb would know all the ins and outs of booking a reasonable future trip, so maybe "a conference" could be arranged, like by the pool or Deck 8 aft if large enough? Can't wait to book another and we have not even left for this one.

Hi all,
I'm very confused, are you guys all personal friends??? Have you all cruised together before?
We will be on the May 11 Magic cruise also, first cruise for us so I'm all new to this. I'm still trying to talk myself into this cruise, concerned about seasickness.
Whats with the lime green shirts and the Boones farms? Clue me in if you don't mind.
We are staying at the Swan the night before.

Thanks All

01-23-2002, 04:18 PM

Great thing this internet. Me personally I have not met anyone on these boards and I think for the most part none of us have met each other? It is just through the boards. if you read the entire thread from start to finish you will get the gist of the Boones farm and other stuff. Most of the time its great to have an idea of the folks with whom you will be cruising. I think we are all just CRAZY in case you haven't figured that one out as yet. :jester:

Dont worry about seasickness unless you have already been on a cruise and were affected. Me personally, I love the rolling ocean...but then again I also ride a jetski and slide down mountains on long sticks..... Welcome to the boards and I hope you talk yourself into this one!

hi you two. Two names I recognize at least. Well if you ever go to the Colllectors Board you will know why I am never in Friday night chat. I am the hostess of the Friday Night Pin Magical Moments Meets at the Contemporary from 7p.m. until all us maniacs go home.

Guess what I am wondering!!! Will anyone be interested in helping a pin fanatic get some of the inaugural pins that they MUST be relseasing. I live right near the port and would glad to help anyone get to the local WalMart or Safeway for their Boone's Farm if it can't make it on the plane :D

Pretty please.?!?!?!

Hi Folks

CMatt: Glad your still around :p As far as being kept in line... Joanne has me practicing packing...You know put it here...no not that way, this way...ok now try again....if you get it right the zipper will close without sitting on the thing....jeesh, you forgot the fins, snorkel and mask now you have to start all over again and be careful not to rip the plastic thingies over my dresses......you get the idea (ha!).

WDWGoose: Boy, it is good to know about the coffee. I will bring my own packets of Instant Hot Chocolate. They help me sleep at night along with my cookies???? Can I get chocolate cookies from room service??? Do you have access to Excel? Have an idea for the group thing, maybe a Sea Day Brunch at Palo's. Joanne thinks maybe we can let the others on anniversary, birthdays, etc. do dinner on their own. Me personally, I think it would be great....we can all talk about how we met each other? Someone said something about a not so newlywed game? Boy that would be a hoot! We can run our own, right after the wine tasting (yes!):smooth:

Pin trader if I can get any extra's of the pins available I would be glad to get one for you. I am not much of a trader I just get the ones that I like for myself. I can see what I can so though. I am sure if more than one of us get you pins it would not hurt your feelings at all.

Yes Joe you can get cookies from roomservice on the Magic not sure at the radisson. DD did it on a reg basis our first cruise. I like the idea of brunch as a group and dinners to celebrate on our own. Do you think DW will agree to that? If we had a head count and anyone in the group is in a concierge room we can get ressie for group before boarding. Sorry this cruise we are not in a suite. I will miss that, DH says we will be ok.

Welcome back cmatt have any smelt lately?:sunny:

 Vicki

Joe & Joanne
01-24-2002, 07:02 AM
Yes, I think DW would go for that Brunch. We sure don't have a "special room" so can't help on that one. Surely someone must have one from this group. By the way, had some pan fried smelts (3) for breakfast sunday..someone did say you eat the whole thing don't you?

C:\My Documents\Disney Cruise\jmmdance.gif

01-24-2002, 01:58 PM
Brunch at Palo sounds great. Is it only for the people celebrating or for the entire group?

01-24-2002, 02:28 PM
Everyone that wants to if we can get a group time. Aren't we all celebrating being on the cruise anyway!!

 Vicki

01-24-2002, 05:33 PM
Sounds great to me!! I would LOVE to do that. :bounce:
I called Disney groups and the guy there said that they dont make any advanced ressies in that department and that someone from our group would have to do it as soon as they got on the ship. So I asked him to transfer me to special events. I've got a call in to them and will let you know what I find out.

Joe & Joanne
01-24-2002, 08:09 PM
You know I've been thinking about that....

You have been hanging around my DH too much you are beginning to get his sense of humor - is this your way of increasing our # of posts? We really need to break 1000 before we cruise, DH thinks 2002. DH wants to know if your DW has finished her packing? Are you trying to pack in luggage or duffle bags? Duffles are easier to spot on the turnstyle at MCO.

After I got the fins and snorkels in the bags, I coud not get the bags closed so I took out two fins, one of hers and one of mine, (it was the fair thing to do). That worked :D they shut just fine, you would think DW would be proud of me? I did not wake her to tell her I got it worked out but she woke me this AM to tell me I forgot to pack two fins...go figure?
C:\My Documents\Disney Cruise\Pixie.gif
Anyway, I think the stuff will fit in my AF "A Bags" (square duffle bags) and she will have to make do with two very large suitcases (one full of Boones Farm?) so she will have room for souvies. I told DH she does not have to bring shampoo so she has already assigned the space for something or another. We want to test out the suggestions for plastic bags over clothes. If they dont wrinkle in a month or two we are safe......

01-25-2002, 07:12 AM
i think i need glasses i'm seeing double?????

or maybee i started the wine tasting eeearlyyy?????

01-25-2002, 03:48 PM
thought everyone needed to know we have 105 days, 21 hours 14 min until we all will be on board the Magic - I also notices that the 2-22-02 thread had more posts than we do and we have had more than them for many days now, we really cannot falltoo far behind can we??

:) going tonight to see the Harlam Globetrotters play in Toledo, Ohio, and Sunday our DD and DS have their first horse show. It is going to be a very busy weekend. :D

Joe & Joanne
01-25-2002, 05:25 PM
Seeing double? Of what? Can you get Boones farm out there? Thought you wanted to wait to smell the fine bouquet and savor the subtle flavor of strawberries....bring aspirin!
Man, you must be working way too hard....It is a good thing you are going to relax this weekend.

WDWGoose I think we have the edge since we will be leaving after them. Ok folks any possibility of setting a record here? By the way what is the record? Is there anyone out there?

WDWGoose we may have the ship to ourselves so no sense rushing to get ressies (ha!).

Hi Folks:wave:

Have not seen the Globetrotters since forever..... long long time ago with Meadow Lark Lemon. Got wet from the wrong bucket....
Great time though.

CMatt: Are all Smelt created equal? Had a few for breakfast lst week, not currently on my list of things to do again!

Now about the stuff for double vision? Dont know what that is all about, maybe I missed something. I can do that at times. Boards have been rough getting to this week and with the conversion from Excite to @home to Comcast I was thinking it was me. Unfortunately when the old server went so did the Bookmarks. Man you would have thought they would of had a way to save them for us. Sticking to AOL for the time being. As far as Cayman, we are renting a Jeep and touring the island to look for dinosaurs/fossils? Just kidding.

Will never catch the folks from the September trip though

Good to see the boards back up.

Goose - Please email the shirt design if it is available

Cmatt - The water temps should be low 80's in GCY and CZM and upper 70's in the lower Key's

We will have to check out the local Walmarts in FL for some Boones Farm. I will want some Rum for the trip.

Joe and Joanne - I have some info on the Ferry from CZM to Plya del Carmen, now just to find it. Last May we did our own trip to Chitza Nitza from CZM, not that hard but a slight command of Spanish was helpful in barganing with teh Taxi Drivers. I remember it being Africa Hot at Chitza Nitza.

Scott H
01-27-2002, 11:15 AM
Just read a post on which dock the magic will use. Looks like it is the dock right down town. a Very short walk to the ferry dock, shops etc. I wonder if that lady there will still sell me the Rolex for $50.00???? She said it was real.

Joe just a bit of advise, pack both fins. If you each just have one you will only swim in circles.

Joe & Joanne
01-27-2002, 11:27 AM
Scott from what I can see Chitzen Itza is about a 2-3 hour drive from Playa. We have been there and Joanne wants to go to Tulum with a trip to Xel-Ha for snorkeling. It is only a 1-1 1/2 hour drive that way. Give us time to get back and have a drink at Carlos' n Charlies. Do not know if we will do any diving since we have done that in Cayman and have heard nothing but horror stories about divemasters in Cozumel. But will see. If you find the ferry or jetboat info as far as rates and times let us know?

Goose: Any word on the shirts? Know you are busy with the Kiddos and horses so when you know let us in on it. Thanks.

Joe & Joanne
01-27-2002, 11:30 AM

Goose still seeing double????????????

Scott: I think I have all the BF we will need. Four bottles anyway. I already called a distributor in Fla and they don't sell it there? Wonder why (?) good cheap wine for the retirees.....

Joe & Joanne
01-27-2002, 11:37 AM
Suppose we can't get away with putting one fin on opposite feet ya think?

Scott H
01-27-2002, 12:41 PM
J&J - yes there are some pretty bad stories of Dive Operations in Cozumel , yet there are some very good ones. We will definitely be diving.

Your times to Tulum are on the money and that would make a great side trip. There are some interesting ruins in the middle of CZM. Also the east side has some pretty nice beaches, note here they are plagued with some screaming rip tides.

Good to hear you have the BF all lined up. It has been a very long time for that vintage.

Will try to get the Cozumel Ferry info out tonight. Gotta run to teach a SCUBA class this afternoon.

01-27-2002, 01:35 PM
Glad to see the thread up and running again, I was in withdrawl. Not long now, I can't wait to be on the boat and sailing away!!
I would love to see the shirts, send me a PM if you can't post it!!
We will be brining a vinifera from local Virginia vineyard. Hope all will enjoy. Brunch sounds good to me, my parents will be celbrating their 30th anniverssary, DH and I will be celebrating our 2nd anniverssary and DH's 30th birthday!

Talk Soon!

01-27-2002, 02:59 PM

the results are in from todays play off games when the rams defeat the eagles

Joe & Joanne

Besides I think you have already resigned yourself to the fact the Rams will loose since you colored your Bouncies EAGLE GREEN
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Joe & Joanne
01-28-2002, 05:50 AM
Well the Beagels (Eagles) did not hunt this year so:(

On another thread, it seems the Disers did not wear the lime green ribbons, (perhaps they wore them somewhere). Is there a shortage of Lime Green out there?

 Does everyone here HAVE the lime green ribbons and do you plan to wear them?

After some Boones Farm, Virginia Blush and Ohio first crush the lime green really wont matter ;)

OK it is back to work today, the 76ers did win this weekend as well as the Flyers so all is not lost.

01-28-2002, 08:36 AM
Joe how about those Rams :bounce:

I'll be looking to collect my bud lite on the cruise :D

unless you want to double or nothing this weekend :o

:sunny: :earsboy: :earseek:  cmatt

the Rams could go all the way, again :bounce:

Scott H
01-28-2002, 08:22 PM
J&J - Finally the ferry from CZM to Playa del Carmen are about $7 each way and it is easiest to get a round trip ticket, saves time if you arrive late at the ferry dock. The schedule is in a constant state of change. I remember they ran pretty early 7:00 am to about 9:00 pm.

Cmatt will you be diving?

Cold and blowing snow here and I am really ready for some warm sun.

01-29-2002, 11:35 AM
According to my countdown clock we are in

That means we have 101 days till we leave for Port Canaveral.

By the way what happens to the Dalmation that we loose tommorrow? :(

Where does he/she go????????????

On a cruise????

Scott H
01-29-2002, 08:38 PM
Cmatt DCL will arrange for folks to dive with a good operator, just wish I knew who. The ones you have to watch out for are the independents. I know people that have been left out in the big blue wet thing while the dive boat made a run into shore for another dive group.

Expecting -20 tonight. I understand MO weather My folks live in Bucklin. They were talking about an ice storm last night.

Hi Fellow Cruisers:wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave:
(I think these little guys/girls are pretty neat)

DIScrusnmommie: Any word or updates from Special Events?

Others: Anyone want to do the Brucnh at Palos? Let WDWGOOSE know with your info...

CMatt life is boring in these parts but the Flyers keep winning, no game on Sunday what a hoot? Sorry New Englanders, but it ain't gonna happen....

BTW Does anyone have a really good joke?

Is anyone there? Just a reply with a little hi would suffice :)

01-29-2002, 10:43 PM
Stephmarty is still here. We check in almost daily, just haven't had anything to add to the conversation lately. Still can't wait for cruise. I actually dreamed I was on the boat last night--no kidding!

Just back from a short work related work trip. Ready for warmer weather it was -38 Wednesday morning when I left.

01-31-2002, 09:10 PM
Hey I hope everyone is getting ready to set sail!!! 99 days, 16 hours woooo hooooo under the 100 mark!!!!!
(Won't be long until the final payment is due.) :(

Almost bought a couple horses Sunday, but our trainer wanted the same spunky one DH did so she got him. Have another one on trial but have decided against her.

should hear on Saturday about the shirts design. will forward it to those that are interested.

I cannot wait for warm weather we've had freezing rain for two days. I hate to think how deep it could have been if it had all been snow. We would still be shoveling out in May. :D

Hy Joe the double vision DH experienced has been corrected.

I have a couple rolls of lime green ribbon, all I have found is the curling ribbon for gift wrapping. I will have some on all of the bags and our camara case and so forth. The local craft store is where I found ours, also Walmart had the curly ribbon bow things. :bounce: :bounce:

 Vicki

Joe & Joanne
02-01-2002, 06:39 AM

WDWGoose: Glad to hear everything went ok with the operation? Hope the double vision thing did not enter the decision to buy the horses. Me, I would rather have the horses instead of double vision so I am glad for DH.

A couple of rolls of ribbon? Do we need to get any? I mean do you use it for Bon Voyage streamers or just the bags and stuff?

I hope Cmatt is not out in the cold waiting for Rams tickets?

We cant wait for the cold weather here, have to use up the wax on the bottom of the skiis?

Scott: Love flying into that place in the winter, so scary........

Oh, by the way where are those Dalmations going? 101 minus 99 equals 2 missing. If anyone sees them please give them a bone and a little drink of water!

We're going too! Wow, what a long thread!!! DD is home from school sick today, so I decided to look through it. I never made it past the 2nd page before!

This is our first cruise. me (37) DH (44), DD (10) and DS (8 1/2) will be there. We started out looking for one over spring break, and the price scared us away. I had given up but after looking one last time on the Disney page, I started calling about the Springtime Magic rate. One Disney confirmed that rate, AAA got in the mix, and got us an upgrade, a $100 credit, and free soda mugs! So we decided what the heck, pull the kids out of school and go for it!!!

We are staying at the Amerisuites the night before (we don't get in until 9:30, so didn't want to deal with the drive over!) and are still looking for someplace the Saturday we get back. I'm thinking of staying at Port Canaveral and taking the kids over the NASA! Sounds like there are some good suggestions out there, so I'll have to check the poll!

Hope to see some of you then! I liked the smelt thing! I went to college in MI, and still remember a group of us after our semi-formal dance going to a Coney Island (basically a 24 hour diner) and all the guys getting SMELT! Grossed us out!

Joe & Joanne
02-01-2002, 08:12 AM

Welcome to the thread. I think we may have a chat tonight usually at 9. Check at the top of the boards for an announcement. Was pretty quiet last week but who knows???

WDWGoose is making a list of stuff for those going so you may want to touch base with them?

You mentioned a poll? I cant find it any ideas on where it may be?

Oh well, have to go to work :( so again welcome and hope to see your contributions.......

BTW you like LIME GREEN? (hint=YES)

02-01-2002, 08:43 AM
tkd lisa

We will not be arriving until after 9:00 also, but the trip to the Port is really not that long. It is really nice to wake up the next morning with all the traveling done.

J&J, I think the poll she is referring to is my "plan my vacation" poll about hotels in and around Cape Canaveral. :)

02-01-2002, 10:20 PM
Scott H thats not Jackson Hole, Wy. where you live is it??

Scott H
02-02-2002, 08:34 AM

Yep, Jackson, WY is the same as Jackson Hole, WY.

J&J are correct it is a fun place to fly into during the winter.

Sorry I missed chat last night, got called out for work 30 min after I got home.

02-02-2002, 09:03 AM

Hey everyone,
hope all is well with all. Very cold here. Cant wait to get to the sunshine :smooth:

I still havent heard back from Disney, but read on another post that there isnt any possible way to get the ressies early. We'll see. I'll call her back first thing Monday Morning.

WDWgoose: any word on the tshirts yet? DH is dying to see them.

H99: great deal!! I'm going to check them out right now.

I'll talk with you all soon.

02-02-2002, 05:33 PM
Welcome tkd Lisa. My DH is compiling a list of our cruisers for those that are interested if you want to PM or email info to him you may. which MI college did you go to? I am a recent grad of EMU. hey any chance the tkd stands for tae kwon do?

J&J I use the ribbons just for streamers. I bought a couple because I had such a hard time finding any I didn't want to have to look if we ever cruised again. I will just have streamers tied on my bags, none for the sailaway party (just bubbles)
No the double vision didn't affect our horse buying decision at all. Me wanting to cruise again in Dec may have though. DH says I cannot do both (two (or three) Arabian show horses = limited vacation funds.) He thinks one horse is more than enough.

Hygiene99 what awesome prices you got. Wish I could have been as lucky.

Hi Goose!
The weather down here is so beautiful!:sunny: It was 78 degrees today. I went to the beach today in Palm Beach near Worth Ave. Sunshine and hardly a cloud in the blue sky. The water was a tad cool tho. Thought I saw the Magic sail by.
Those cruisers have great weather for their trip.
Wish I was going this May!

Hi back wdw goose. Can you please email me with the info that you're looking for, and then I'll just reply back. I hate to flood you with bunches of details if you're just looking for name, age, and hometown, etc.

In answer to your questions, yes the TKD does stand for Tae Kwon Do. I'm a 2nd degree black belt and senior instructor at our school in Southern Maryland (that's my part time job). My DH is a brown stripe (took 2nd place at Nationals last year), and DD is green stripe while DS is taking a break, but currently green belt.

I went to GMI Engineering & Management Institute (formerly General Motors Institute, currently Kettering Institute - yes they are looking for their identity LOL) in Flint MI. Congrats on the degree from Eastern! I had a couple of sorority sisters from that area, and went to visit them once. It's a beautiful place in the summer!

I guess it is a good thing I booked in January, when I did. I don't think there will be anybody on this board between May 11 and May 18. I think we'll all be on board the ship then. My most distinguishing feature, so anyone can recognize me, my black cowboy boots, of course. Enjoy!

02-05-2002, 10:04 PM
:bounce: Oh, I'm so glad that you are all happy with this. Okay, She said that they are planning on us for the first day, so I'm thinking that'll be Sunday. Unless she meant the first sea day then it'll be Monday. We are playing phone tag, but communicating nonetheless.lol. Dont mean to confuse anyone:D I'll let you know as soon as I find out. Okay so far I've got.......

Tigger 24 (Bernadette)=4

Anyone else? Please let me know. Joe and Joanne where are you?

So glad to hear that the wine event is still on. DH was asking me about that. I'm so glad that he's actually looking forward to this trip now. Thank God.

Talk to you all soon,

Joe & Joanne

We are here, soon to be there, sucking up suds in the Caribbean air!

Will be there (4). Won't have my boots may be too hot.

Welcome TexasKid.

Glad the message notification is back. For some reason we are have connectivity problems here. Not the board problem but COMCAST:mad:

Seems to be up and working now so POST ON:D

Don't forget Lime green ribbons and bubbles. Oh my, that is a note to myself?

Ah shucks you can use it as well:bounce:

02-06-2002, 10:22 PM

We'd love to come to the Palo's brunch, but can't commit yet. We have a 1 year old daughter and will have to get her in Flounder's Reef. Soooo, probably won't know until we arrive. Hopefully we will see everyone there!

02-07-2002, 10:58 AM
Welcome TexasKid, we'll be watching for the black boots -hope you will have a little more than just boots on though I don't think Disney is into that. :D Although we did have someone go topless on an excursion last cruise. (not my idea of family entertainment)

DH - Garry has contacted a different company for the t-shirts got tired of waiting on the first one. They have a lime green tie-dyed pattern shirt (also have a solid lime green) and will email the logo to us by the weekend if we have your e-mail address we will forward it to you, neither DH or I are computer literate enough to create a link or figure out how to get it on a post. I just hope it will work out this time. Cost should still be under $15.00 will have exact prices with the emails

COUNTDOWN - 93 days 2 hours and I cannot wait!!!!!

02-07-2002, 05:05 PM
Well, that would be a sight, but rest assured I'll be wearing something more then the nudists wear at the nudist colonies here in Texas. Of course, I am not sure if they wear boots there, or go barefoot. Enjoy!

02-07-2002, 09:36 PM
Ok all you Disney cruise veterans. I need to know has anyone used Happy Limo or Tiffany and if so have you ever had a problem with them not being at the port to take you back to the airport.

Can't waste any time as we have an early flight.

Thanks for your input

Hi Folks:wave:

We all healthy here I hope;) Are the Dalmations going to a new kennel? :) I see we have lost a few more. I wonder if the new owner is getting all their kennel cough, vacination shots and heartworm meds lined up. :D It would be so sad to learn they are missing the other ones that will be joining them shortly;)

How many days? No, don't tell me its ttttttooooooooo mmmmaaaannnnnyyy!

Ok, now this is just a reminder..eat your fruits and veggies (esp. brocolli) and drink copious amounts of fresh cool water. You know what happened to those "old salts" if the Captain or they did not take care of themselves? Won't have any of that on our cruise will we? Nah!

02-08-2002, 06:44 PM

We will be at WDW on 5/9 and 5/10 staying at WL. Anybody want to meet up at WDW before 5/11.

Love the sound of F-16's overhead. There are some folks here in Jackson, WY that will complain. I for one am proud of them.

Yes the Huey has a very friendly sound.

02-10-2002, 08:56 AM
It has rained/snowed quite a bit lately, but so far my house is still a house not a cruise ship. (Is that good or bad?????)

Look like we will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express the night before. We will not be arriving until rather late or I would stop by the Raddisson and crash your party.
