Pre-Trip Part 1

I starting reading TRs and thought... huh... maybe I should write my own.

:) OK lets get started. I have been going to Disney with my family since I was 4 years old. We went once a year and stayed 2-3 weeks at a time. Whats funny is we always went down planning on staying 2 weeks, but we would have so much fun my parents would extend our trip. They had their own business and had the freedom to do that.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/pretrip%20report/5years.jpg
me one of my first times

The first time my husband went to Disney we were dating and took a trip with my parents. That is when we got engaged (on the beach of Bay Lake). It was perfect... I couldn't have asked for a better place to start planning our lives together.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/pretrip%20report/engaged.jpg
right after we got engaged

Of course the next time we were in Disney was our Honeymoon. We opted for the 4/3 land and sea package. GREAT idea when we started to plan it.. but I had never been to Florida in the fall and didn't really understand 'Hurricane Season' OHHH wait, that's why the cruise was so reasonably priced?? Well, we were only in Disney for 2 days before Hurricane Floyd came to visit us. We were still on land at the time and it turned out not to be that bad... I mean yeah the park was closed for a day... and yes there was rain... but the castle was still there in the morning and that's all that matters!!! :cheer2:
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/pretrip%20report/honeymoon.jpg
us being silly while we should have been paying attention
Once we got on the Disney Magic we were very excited, neither of us had ever been on a cruise ship before. If you are thinking about cruising a highly recommend the Disney Cruise Line!!! It is perfectly magical!! The only down side to our cruise is that Castaway Cay was closed... :sad2: Stinkin' Floyd!! We went to Key West instead... looking back we should have just stayed on the boat.

Since we have been married we have gone together at least once a year... And I have gone a few more times on Girls Only trips with my DSIL DM and a Friend. On one trip me and mom DM even participated in the Danskin Triathlon... this was awesome and totally doable!!! If you are willing to invest a few months in light training you can do it... you won't win... but winning isn't the important thing... tri-ing is!!

We went on another Disney Cruise for our 5 year wedding anniversary... You guessed it... didn't learn the first time and went during hurricane season again. There is no way another hurricane could happen... well actually one hit right before we got there and two more developed while we were on the Ocean. But Castaway Cay was open... so all was good!

I was three months pregnant with baby Dexter.

My baby Dexter's First Trip to DW was in 2005 when he was six weeks old. Not the best idea... but I was on maternity leave and my parents were going... so I thought it would be better then hanging around the house.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/pretrip%20report/6weeks.jpg
He loved Donald (still does) and didn't know what to think about Goofy!

His next trip was last January... it was the BEST trip ever!!! :cloud9:
he was 10 months old and couldn't quite walk yet.. but he LOVED the charters!

This is in Epcot where if you have a Disney Credit Card you can take a special (FREE) picture.

OK... now on to our upcoming trip...

This picture is from last year. We had fun dressing him up!! The pictures turned out cute so we bought him a few for this year too.

We thought it was only going to be the three of us when we started to plan our trip.
But then My DB- Michael & DSIL - Stephanie (she's not pregnant any more :) ) Booked a trip along with...
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/pretrip%20report/DisneyPhotoImage175.jpg

and their little Princess Emmie. She will be 11 months old.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/pretrip%20report/Picture030.jpg

We are flying out of Midway airport... It kinda silly since we live five minutes away from O'Hare. But Southwest doesn't fly out of O'Hear and we got awesome airfare!! $270 total round trip!! So we will suffer the drive.

Once we get home to Disney we will be staying at the POP. We have stayed there before... no bells and whistles but we are saving for a house. My DREAM is to stay at the Contemporary... but that will have to wait.
We'll be there for ten nights!!

We booked only three Dining Reservations so far... we don't know how the babies are going to be with dinner timing so we only booked breakfast.
Thursday - Crystal Palace
Saturday - the girls are going to The Princess Breakfast in Norway
Tuesday - Chef Mickey's

I am really looking forward to Chef Mickey's and booked our reservations about a month ago... we had a hard time getting into a time slot that worked for us... SO BOOK EARLY!!! :scared1:

:yay: I can't wait to go... maybe this TR will help the last two weeks fly by.

OK... so less then two weeks to go now!! :cool1:
I guess it's time to start packing. I already have Dexter's costumes ready... he's going to be Dash, Woody (from toy story), Mickey Mouse, Peter Pan, and Dopey. Stephanie bought Princess Emmie a Snow White costume and I serched and searched for a Dopey costume but couldn't find one I liked, so me and my mom made one. I think it turned out GREAT, but you'll have to be the judge of that. I don't plan on having Dexter wear these all day long, just for pictures. Although when I put the Dash costume on him for the fist time, he didn't want to take it off!!!!

Shawn took Dexter to his parents house today... I feel lost with out them, I mean what does a mom do when she doesn't have a baby to take care of??? It really is funny that once you have a baby you realize all the time you really used to have!!!

So it's off to Target for me tonight and stock up on - Sun tan lotion, Diapers, Undies & Socks (I view vacations a great time to invest in new socks and underwear, then I don't have to worry about forgetting to pack them) TMI? & Snacks for the plane, etc.

I'm soooo excited!! I can't wait!!

:thumbsup2 Nothing better than walking around WDW in brand-new socks! We go through a lot of them. If we go back to the room in the middle of the day, my older two will change their socks every time!

Less then a week to go!!
The DisBoards have been a great help to make the time pass more quickly. :cool1: I have been getting so many good ideas from other people's TRs. I think if anything they have been getting me more Disney obsessed... I actually called up Fort Wilderness to find out what movies they are playing so that we could plan ahead to go to the Camp Fire & Movie. :goodvibes

When Dexter was 6 weeks old (our first trip) He was screaming on the monorail and I noticed that we were sitting next to the CM who sings during the Camp Fire. She felt bad that Baby Dexter was crying and she sang him a song, right there, on the monorail. The whole car hushed to listen in. She had an amazing voice and it stopped Dexter from crying. Until she stopped that is! That will always be a great memory for me.

LESS THEN A WEEK!!! :beach:

Well... I guess plans are meant to change.
No more Expedition Everest, no more Rock & Roll Roller Coaster, no more Space Mountain, along with several other rides that I have been longing to ride. Don't panic they have not been closed... Everyone else can ride just not me.
I just found out I am pregnant!!!!! :cloud9:
I kinda had a feeling the last week that I may be but didn't brake down to take the test until five minutes ago.
I told my husband  I told my almost 2 year old son :confused3 and now I am telling you.

I was thinking about still riding the rides and taking a test when I got home... but then I started to read on the Internet that even when you are in your first trimester it can be dangerous. So I decided that baby is more important then Disney (I think Mickey would even agree).

Anywho... thought I would tell my Dis Friends!

Between going to Disney in less then 48 hours and the news of a new baby (not to mention we are moving at the end of the month) we are very happy.

Dexter is a funny little man, when I ask him, "where's the baby?"
He lifts up his shirt points at his belly and says "bab-bie". Close enough :rotfl2:

:grouphug: Thanks for all the congrats everyone!! It's fun that you guys are going to follow along on my TR. (Don't worry blue_river, I'll take lots of notes!!!)

The next time you hear from me I'll be home :sad1:

Well we are back and I'm not sure if I'll be writing a TR anymore. The trip itself was nice but the last day right before we loaded the 'magical express' I realized i was bleeding... turns out I am most likely having a miscarriage. :sad1: we reschedule our flight to leave the next morning and went to the hospital. They did an ultrasound and found the sac where the baby should have been but there was no baby to be found. After leaving the hospital (5 hours later) we tried to get a hotel and there was no vacancy anywhere... some sort of car race, Daytona 500 going on. So we had to sleep at the airport! We got to the airport around 11:30pm the flight didn't leave until 7:05am and I was very hungry, hadn't eaten since around 1:30. Nothing opened in the airport until 4:30am!!
We got home yesterday and I went to my doctor today... he said that it didn't look good since I was still bleeding and that at 7 weeks they should have seen something in the ultrasound. I'll be going back on Thursday to have another ultrasound to find out for sure... but it seems like they really are just looking to see if everything is clearing out on it's own...

Anyways maybe in a few days I'll post some pictures and maybe I'll even decide to write my TR after all... but as of right now I am just trying to forget the last few days.

Sorry for the downer... just didn't want you all to wonder where I went.

Well it definitely was a miscarriage... turns out it was something called a blighted ovum. I guess that is where the developing baby has so many genetic problems that it stops developing. I went to the hospital last Friday for a D&C. I'm mostly back to normal and feel a lot better. This baby was just not meant to be and we will try again in a few months.

OK TIME TO MOVE ON....

So I was feeling really bad about our recent trip and Disney in general, then I started to read every ones TR again and got motivated to start ours. I almost need to do this so I can remember how much fun I had and not just think about the last few days.

I will post the first day shortly. :woohoo:

Day One -

We woke up at 3:30 to drive over to my DB Mike's house. We were leaving our car there and his DMIL was driving us to the airport. All of our years playing Tetris really helped us load the minivan up with all of our luggage!! :thumbsup2

We arrived the recommended two hours before our flight. This gave us plenty of time to check in and get through security. It also gave me time to look in my bag and figure out that I forgot my camera! :confused3 Me and DH Shawn also grabbed some breakfast for our family. I don't remember what the place was called, but they charged $4 for eggs and ham in between two pieces of toast. (oh well these will soon seem like a good deal once we get to Disney). We got settled in and thought we would be boarding soon, but then our flight got delayed!! 10, then 20, then 60 minutes!! (good thing we got there on time!)

Shawn & Dexter watching everyone else's plane leave.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0024.jpg
Mike & Emmie.

So finally we were on our way. We were able to pre-board because we had the babies with us :) that was really nice since we were flying Southwest and didn't have assigned seats. I'm sure everyone was ticked that we got in the first row... but if you really want to be fare we were one of the first families there in the morning.

Dexter and Emmie did ok on the take off and seemed to enjoy looking out the windows. They were getting restless half way through the flight, it was now around 10am and Dexter hadn't slept since 3:45! He cried the last 15 minutes of the flight, we think he was having problems with his ears, but it seemed like every single baby was crying around then so who knows.

Once we landed we searched for the Magical Express. I was expecting someone wearing some over sized Mickey gloves to point our way, but we had to ask a airport employee. Finally we spotted the Disney Buses - - Well first we saw the Disney Cruise Line buses and Shawn said "we're at the wrong ones!" and I said, "how do you know maybe I am surprising you with a cruise?" he wasn't too happy when he found out I was kidding!! Once we checked in we were in the bus and on our way within 10 minutes. It was nice not to wait after the morning we had.

It didn't take long at all to get to POP.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0036.jpg
We checked in we both got rooms in the 70's building... it was soooo close to the main building!! We opted not to pay for a preferred location but it seems we had gotten one. (Disney Magic? :wizard:)

Our two families spit up for the evening. My brother and his family ate lunch at Pop, napped for awhile and then went to Epcot for dinner (Mexico I think, Emmie liked beans). We only had a 10 day park hopper and would be there for 11 days so we wanted to save a day for our last day just in case. We went to our room and unpacked, this is funny only because I have never unpacked on vacation before in my life!

We went to DTD, and ate at Earl Sandwich. I LOVE Earl of Sandwich but we must have being talking too loud on our last trip about how reasonable their prices where cause now the sandwiches are about $1 more expensive and instead of the soup or salad being a dollar extra they now are two bucks. Oh well, still good food, and still one of the best deals on Disney property. After we ate and made a quick lap around the marketplace we took a bus to the Wilderness Lodge. I hope we can afford it next time cause I would LOVE to stay there! Then we took a boat over to the Contemporary (my dream hotel if money wasn't and issue). We bought some candy, Dexter had a chocolate covered pretzel and Shawn had a Chocolate Mint smoothie. It's basically a HUGE Andy's candy... I mean HUGE like 3"x3"x2"! He ate the whole thing (well I took a little bite).
We then took a ride in the monorail to the Poly, we were able to ride in the front car. Dexter didn't' seem to interested cause he was still trying to suck all the chocolate off the pretzel. We took monorail to the Magic Kingdom to catch the bus back to POP. Once we got back to our room we decided to try out the water sprinklers... it was very cold (not Chicago cold, just too cold to play in water). After a few minutes of freezing we wrapped Dexter up in a towel and brought him back to the room. Time for a bath and sleep.

Tomorrow Magic Kingdom, Crystal Palace for BK, and haircuts.

Day Two

We had a 6am wake up call. I had originally made breakfast reservations at the Crystal Palace at 8:05am thinking that the Magic Kingdom doesn't open until 9. We like walking down empty streets and taking pictures in front of the castle with no one in the streets. Once we got to Disney I found out that it was a Extra Magical Hours day so my plan didn't work out too well. :confused3 It didn't really matter anyway cause it was a very foggy morning and the pictures weren't really all that good.

Crystal Palace was OK, Dexter seemed to enjoy the charters, Emmie slept.

Dexter liked Piglet, he just didn't like his hood.

We all decided that Breakfast wasn't worth that much money, none of us really ate enough food to justify the cost and the food wasn't anything amazing. Although Shawn did eat about $15 worth of cool whip. :yay:
(After that Breakfast I cancelled our Breakfast at Chef Mickey and tried to make dinner reservations for the rest of the week, we never were able to get them.)

After Breakfast we ran over to the Tinkerbell store to see if we could wake her up, Tinkerbell was already flying around but no big deal cause I don't think the Babies would have understood anyway.

Day Two continued...

Next we went to The Harmony Barber Shop on main street to get Emmie's First Hair cut.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0083.jpg
This barber shop is awesome!! If you have a baby that hasn't had his/her first hair cut yet - hold out for Disney!! For $14 you get the hair cut (they save snippets of hair for you) a certificate and a pair of Mickey ears with "first hair cut" embroidered on them. Amazing huh???

Emmie's new haircut & new hat.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0079.jpg
Dexter had gotten his first haircut the year before, so I wanted to get it cut again to keep up the tradition. The really cool part was that the same cast-member cut his hair two years in a row!
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0087.jpg
This time we had them put in green gel/goo and pixie dust. So all day he had spiky green hair. (cutest thing ever)

Notice the hidden Mickey on the back of his head.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0093.jpg
Their 'after' shot.

Next we grabbed Fast Passes for the jungle cruise and went on Pirates... So most of the time when Disney Changes a ride I'm not the happiest person (when the took the "living in the land song" off the end of the boat ride at the land and "tomorrows child" song off of Space Ship Earth Me and my brother were not pleased a all!!! :scared1: We still to this day sing out as loud as we can at the end of those two rides out of protest.)
Pirates on the other hand AWESOMES additions!!!! The coolest part of the whole thing was Davey Jones!! The whole ride also has a story line now, so that's great! :thumbsup2

Time for Dole!!! (or at least that's what we call it) This is something that we talk about for months before we go to Disney. It's sold at Aloha Isle but make sure you ask for it by its proper name Pineapple Float or Dole Whip Soft Serve .... cause if you ask for "dole" or "dole float" they look at you like your crazy.

After we were finished with our dole we went on the Jungle Cruise, it seemed like they filled every other boat with just FP people, so the FP line went really fast. Our guide was one of the best I have ever seen! It must have been the beginning of his shift, cause I do not know how you can keep up the enthusiasm he had about the back side of water all day long.

We grabbed a FP for Peter Pan and went on Small World. Our we had awhile before our FP so we walked over to Toon Town (you'll notice a lot on our trip that we do a lot of unnecessary walking around, next time I'll be planning a little better) ToonTown was way too busy so we walked all the way back to Peter Pan and used our FP.

Everyone started to get hungry so we went to Casey's to eat. Then we went to Mickey's Philharmagic, we weren't sure how Dexter was going to react but he seemed really to like it. He normally won't keep glasses (or hats) on his head but he watched the whole show with them on and flinched when "things" came flying toward him. Emmie didn't' seem to
like it all that much, when the water squired out she started to cry.

We hiked all the way back to Toon Town and met Donald, Chip & Dale, Daisey, and Mickey Mouse. Dexter wasn't really afraid of the charters but he didn't' seem to interested. Emmie on the other had loved them!! Her favorites seemed to be Chip & Dale. They kept on tickling her and she was cracking up!!!

She's laughing... it just looks like crying.

We also rode, the people mover buzz light-year and I'm sure a few more that I just can't remember right now. Emmie just seemed happy about everything but not really enthused about anything. Dexter seemed to take everything in and then talk about it (in Dexter language and big gestures) later.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0112.jpg
Shawn seemed more excited to ride on a horse... so I just stood next to Dexter to make sure he didn't fall off.

Candy anyone?
Stephanie wanted to take the same picture with Dexter and the HUGE sucker, but we had to explain to her that Dexter wouldn't give it back.

By the end of the day we ended up at Pooh's Play Ground. Dexter LOVED it!! He wasn't that great at waiting his turn but got better at it by the end of the trip.

Michael, Steph and Emmie left us to go to the front of the Castle to get a good spot for the fireworks. Dexter wanted to play more so we let him, then just before the fireworks started we headed over to the back side of the castle right by Dumbo. I have never watched them from back there before, kinda cool. The only bad thing was that you had to keep on looking from one side to the other to see the whole show.

Back to the hotel for some sleep.

OK... two more pictures from the day... I mean HOW CUTE ARE THEY???

I have heard alot of stories like that recently. Thanks for sharing, it's nice to hear that other people have had happy endings.

Thanks everyone for reading... We just moved into a new place (after living with my parents for over a year... ekkk:scared: ) After recent events we realized we REALLY needed to be our own family. So we took the financial leap six months ahead of schedule.

So I'll be done packing by tomorrow... look for the next installment after that. :)

Day Three...

Stitch woke us up at 6am (now who would have told him to do that??) We had a quick breakfast a POP and then off to MGM. :offtopic: You have to understand something... my family is the type that when you say "be ready by 8" we can't manage to be ready any sooner then 8:30 so I never thought that when I planned these early mornings that everyone would be ready on schedule....
OK... so that being said... we arrived at MGM at 8:15am. Well.... it didn't open until 9:00 :rolleyes1 (guess who everyone was mad at).
Oh well... all was good, Dexter found some friends to play with near the opening gates. I'm sure he didn't realise the fun hadn't started yet. :)
Once the finally let us in we were only able to go half way up the street until they stopped everyone again for the official opening. It was cute, but at this point we had been there for 45mins and were ready to do something.
After the little opening show everyone seemed to run in the same direction... toward Tower of Terror & RocknRoll Roller coaster. I volunteered to watch the babies while Mike, Steph & Shawn whet on the ride.
This was interesting!!! Fortunately Emmie was in her stroller so the only munchkin I had to chase was my own. AND WAIT.. I forgot to tell you!!! He was dressed up as Mr. Incredible (I personally think it was a Dash costume... but I was told that Dash does not have muscles)
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DisneyPhotoImage108.jpg
So this costume got Lil' Dexter all sorts of attention which in turn made him act CRAZY!!!
:offtopic: Just the other day Dexter was on our deck and saw the neighbors out side, so he started running back and forth like a caged lion running into the walls and pretending to fall down!!!

Ok... I'm back again.
So while they were having fun on the ride I took the little ones and got Mike & Steph FP for TOT. (Shawn doesn't ride anything with drops). After they got off the ride there was a little time to wait for their FP time, so we walked through the shops. And waiting for us in the candy shop was some MAGIC!!! pixiedust: Well, for the babies mostly. A cast member came over and give Dexter & Emmie chocolate covered marshmallows!!
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0117.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0120.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0114.jpg
This is the nice cast member that gave our babies SUGAR :cutie:

I'm not sure if you know this, but marshmallows are made out of SUGAR!! :scared1: And after that Dexter got way more crazy!!! It was time to head back to TOT for Mike & Steph so me & Shawn watched the babies... and OMG!! Dexter was a wild man!!! If anyone so a little Dash (or mr. incredible) running up and down the street, he was mine. It's not like he was running anyone off the road or anything, he was just having fun being a crazy kid running off a sugar high at 10 in the morning! :crazy2:

Well Shawn was getting really irritated at Dexter's crazy behavior :rotfl: and decided that as soon as we got that costume off him, he would start acting better. So once Mike & Steph found us we headed over to meet the Incredibles. They are in the animation building at the end of the tour.

Day 3 part two:

Dexter became a little less incredible and took off his costume. I think he was a little relieved that he no longer had all the responsibilities that a super hero has. :) Now he was just my little boy again.
A little boy who LOVES Lighting McQueen!!! So we checked the time and headed over to where the Cars come out. We tried to get him all pumped up to see Lightning, so we bought him a die-cast car.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0136.jpg
If you have ever seen the movie Cars then you know that in the first big race Lighting McQueen has to jump over a bunch of the other cars who had crashed. While he jumps he sticks out his tongue Michael Jordan style. That is what Dexter is doing in this picture.
Finally the Cars came driving down the street. Dexter seemed a little overwhelmed.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0144.jpg
I was expecting a better reaction. :yay: Something that said, "MOMMY, I love you and you made my dreams come true." but all I got was...
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0146.jpg
"mommy, why is daddy holding me in front of this rusty car?"
That's what I thought anyway... But when the cars were driving away Shawn & Dexter followed them. And Shawn said that when the cars finally were out of sight, Dexter turned to him and said, "OH WOW!!!!"
Emmie fell asleep so we all decided to split up for awhile and meet in front of Lights Motor Action in a few hours. Shawn, Dexter and I went to play at the Honey I shrunk the kids play area.
We started on the baby slides, and slowly graduated to the big slides. I never thought he would go down the film strip... but once he did it he didn't want to stop!!! (no pictures = no camera)
We ate lunch at the counter services behind the play area. It wasn't all that good, but it did fill our bellies.
Next, off to Lights Motor Action. (last year this was the first place that Dexter ever clapped on his own) Dexter just watched the whole show with very little emotion... just followed the cars very closely but didn't smile or frown. We weren't real sure if he was enjoying it.... But then after the last explosion and when everyone started to get up and leave - his enthusiasm came out!!! He doesn't speak very good English yet (more of a Dexter-ease) but you could tell he was telling you about the show and what he saw. It was VERY clear that he liked it.
We all headed over to the Great Movie Ride and on the way Dexter got inked. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0157.jpg
Don't pay attention to the sign that says "drys immediately" cause they do not!! The first tattoo he got rubbed off... we went back and they gave him a fresh one for free. This time we made sure that he didn't touch it until it was really dry (about 30 minutes later).

The Great Movie Ride is one of my favorites. But I was very disappointed this time because we got the girliest Man Mobster in the world!!! Come on now, were all the cast members on vacation??? I could have done a WAY better job then that guy, but just assumed that getting that job must be difficult.... (guess not)

Everyone was getting crabby so we headed back to POP. Shawn & Steph decided they need naps, so me and my brother took the kids to the pool.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0171.jpg
Emmie had fun at first, but got cold and tired really fast.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0182.jpg
Dexter loved it, and didn't want to leave! :yay:
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0179.jpg

After we dragged Dexter away from the pool we all got dressed and went over to the Market Place. Nothing real exciting happened that night. We just walked around, and ate dinner at Earl of Sandwich (I would have eaten there every day if I could have).

Time to go to sleep and rest up.

It is $7 and last about a week. They really are cool, it looked like a sticker. Dexter got his on Commissary Lane in MGM. That's the little back way from the Muppets to The Great Movie Ride.
But they also do it in Downtown Disney, and some of the hotels by the pool.

Day four...

First of all I would just like to say that my notes for this day are not complete. I'll do my best from the pictures... but my memory is not so good.

We woke up early (again)... but this time we had breakfast reservations so there was no way I could be blamed. :)
The girls (steph, emmie, and me) were going to the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for Princess Storybook Breakfast. We had to take Princess Emmie to meet all of her new friends! :goodvibes
It was fun getting to Epcot before it opened, there was hardly anyone around so we stopped to take some pictures of the little Princess.

Or should I say Princesses
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0198.jpg

Is Mulan a Princess??

The breakfast was GREAT, I mean the food was AWESOME!!! I think me and Steph ate a pound or more of their cheesy potatoes!! :thumbsup2
Charter breakfasts seem to be on the pricey side, but if you have a little girl who likes princesses this is not one to miss!! Our service was not really good, but I'm sure it was just a fluke.

The funniest part of the breakfast was when we got our bill I noticed they had charged us $12 for Emmie. I asked the waitress why they charged us $12 for half a strawberry and a bite of potatoes... she replied, "You had her listed as a child on the reservations, I thought you wanted to pay for her." I assured her that we did not want to pay for Emmie and she promptly took her off the bill.

We were really excited to go to the Princess breakfast to get Emmie's picture with the REAL Snow White. But like all things Disney... Charters are subject to change. So we had to check the schedule to see when Snow White would be making an appearance. Emmie will have to wait until noon.

The boys had breakfast in Fort Wildness at Trail's End Restaurant. It is an amazing all you can eat breakfast buffet. The food is great, and it's only something like $12 for an adult!!! You can't beat it!!! (ask for Ken, you won't be disappointed!! he is just about the GREATEST cast member / server ever!!!! Your glass will never be empty and you will never have a dirty dish on your table... he's MAGIC!!!)
The only catch is, it is not really the easiest place to get to. Because we were staying at the POP, first you have to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then a boat to Fort Wilderness. (I guess it's not that bad, it just seems like it takes forever).

While we were waiting to meet back up with the boys we went shopping.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0237.jpg

Then the boys finally arrived. They had a great breakfast also. (they made the mistake of not asking for Ken, so it was slow going)

:sad2: My family needs some Natale time.... So I'll have to finish tomorrow.

Day 4 continued...

Where was I... oh yes.
So the boys arrived to Epcot and I quickly changed Dexter into his Dopey costume. Shawn wasn't too happy about me putting his costume on. According to him Dexter was being such a good boy all morning and he was afraid that the extra attention would turn him into Bad Baby Dexter again. :scared1: But I argued that he would be cute... so I won.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0256.jpg
It was very hard to take this picture... Dexter would look and smile but Emmie was looking away... then Emmie would smile and Dexter wouldn't.

I made Dexter's costume because I couldn't find a cute Dopey costume on the Internet. I was pretty happy how it turned out but other people walking around the park thought he was Peter Pan. Oh Well. One person even suggested that he was a Power Ranger!!! :headache:

While we waited for Snow White to come out Dexter enjoyed watching the train & chasing the birds. Now I don't have a problem with him chasing the sea gulls... I figured there was no way he was going to catch one AND I have witnessed them seal food right out of people's hands so I figured they had it coming. Some people walking around though didn't seem to find the humor in a two year old yelling "BIIIIIRD" and running in their direction until they flew away.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0261.jpg
Dexter watching train.

Then after a LONG wait... Snow White finally showed up.
The GREAT thing was, I think Dexter had a little crush on her because so far she was the only charter that he would stand and take pictures with.

I made Dexter's costume because I couldn't find a cute Dopey costume on the Internet. I was pretty happy how it turned out but other people walking around the park thought he was Peter Pan. Oh Well. One person even suggested that he was a Power Ranger!!! :headache:

My DS was Peter Pan and everyone thought he was Robin Hood..?:confused3

Mission accomplished, Dexter is napping :)

Day 4 continued (again)...

Now this is the part of the day where my memory gets a bit sketchy. :confused3 (trip report tip of the day - DON'T FORGET TO TAKE NOTES!!) I think it went something like this...

We walked over to Test Track and I (once again) watched the babies while everyone else went on the ride. They seemed to enjoy it and Shawn thought that it was faster then last time. Not sure if it is, but some of the people riding with him agreed. After that we went to innovations where we took our Disney Credit card picture.

Once again, Dexter was not too interested in the charters.

see.. I told you.

But Emmie looked cute.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0273.jpg

After that we hummmm.... I'm really not sure.

I know we went over to the Figment ride and played in the water...
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0285.jpg

And the Babies Met Figment himself...
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DisneyPhotoImage78.jpg

After that I know that we went on Soarin (my favorite ride... but only if I get the front row... if not I pout.) and Nemo.
Nemo is really cute - But I do not understand waiting more then 15-20 minutes for it. If you see a long line just wait until later in the day... If you wait a really long time you most likely will be disappointed.

We were all really tired so we decided to leave. When we got back to POP we had a message on our phone that we had a package at the front desk. :yay: Our camera had arrived!!! My mom mailed it to us!!!

Shawn was really excited so him and Mike rushed back to Epcot to watch the fireworks. They made it just in time.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1005.jpg

I took better notes for the rest of the trip... so stay tuned!!!

Just wanted to let you know I am enjoying your report. Dexter and Emmie are so cute. The Dopey costume that you made is very cute. When we went to WDW in Jan. my DS3 was not too interested in the characters either. He would get embarrassed when the characters would pay attention to him. He did get better later in the week.
I'll be waiting to hear what happens next.

Figment has his own little room next to "honey I shrunk the audience". It is by the water-jumpers the kids can play in.

I hope you don't mind, but somone did this for us and I wanted to pay it forward to your family. I hope you enjoy...

I was really touched by your story and I just wanted to do anything I could to make you smile.

:offtopic: :offtopic: That looks great, Lesley! (or should I say Tim? :cheer2:)

my family is the type that when you say "be ready by 8" we can't manage to be ready any sooner then 8:30 so I never thought that when I planned these early mornings that everyone would be ready on schedule....
OK... so that being said... we arrived at MGM at 8:15am. Well.... it didn't open until 9:00 (guess who everyone was mad at).

This sounds EXACTLY like my family. I don't know if you could beat this one, my dad's family was late to his own wedding! When i scheduled the meet times for our disney trip, we too had a 6AM wake up call! We fell into the SAME situation when we arrived early at Animal Kingdom!! I got evil glares :confused3

Your son is SO Cute! And so is little emmie, i love both of their names, too! :goodvibes

Day five (second try)...

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1020.jpg
This is Dexter being bad in our room turning the light on and off. If this picture had sound you would hear, "Dexter stop... Dexter I said stop!! NATALE, MAKE DEXTER STOP!!!" :rotfl: We also had to hide our phone because Lil' Man kept on trying to make phone calls.

He was all ready to go to the Animal Kingdom, he has on his Lincoln Park Zoo Vest on. When he wears this he becomes a animal expert!! He will actually get people's attention, point at what ever animal is around and tell people all about them in Dexter-ease.

After we all got dresses we at breakfast at POP.
Dexter and me once again had our el-cheepo oatmeal and Shawn ate his $7 waffle. He still complains to this day that he can't believe that Disney would charge $7 for a waffle, but he ate one every morning we ate at POP.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1025.jpg
Dexter didn't even know he's mommy was being cheep. He just knew his tummy was full.

:offtopic: Shawn LOVES Disney's waffles... so when we got home (being the amazing wife I am) I jumped on the Internet and tried to find a Disney waffle recipe. It turns out that they use Carbon's Golden Malted Flour. They sell 7.5lbs on Amazon.com for $30. Kinda costly so I guess I'll have to wait until he gets un-laid off.

After we were done fighting the crowds at breakfast we headed over to the bus. The first thing we did when we got to the Animal Kingdom was get FP for Expedition Everest. I had wanted to go on this ride since I first saw them build it... but I'll have to wait until next time:sad2: . Mike & Steph were the only ones to get FP. Shawn won't go on the ride until he hears from a very reliable source (he won't even believe me anymore) that there are no big drops.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1008.jpg
waiting while they got FP

We then made our way to Rafaki's Planet Watch. On the way we stopped to get some pictures from the back side of the tree.

It was fun to get the tree at a different view then normal. But next time I would wait until later in the day when the sun isn't pouring through the sides of the tree so much.

It's really kinda cool. They have a petting zoo, where you can brush the goats (pictures to come). During certain times of the day you can even watch while they preform surgery or exams on the animals. They also have 'zoo' type things where they have animal teeth or fur you can see up close.

I'll try and tell him that... but I don't think it will help, he won't even ride splash mountain. :)
One of our first few dates we went to Great America and what I didn't know at the time was, it was the first time Shawn ever went on roller coasters. I guess he didn't want to look bad in front of his fearless girlfriend! He was freaked out but seemed to enjoy them. Then on the first trip we went to Disney World (our engagement trip) we went on tower of terror. He asked me if there were any drops and according to him I told him no. :rotfl2:
That was when he started to loose trust in me :rotfl:.

Then on our honey moon we went to blizzard beach and I made him go on that one REALLY big ski jump slide. :lmao: That is when the trust was really lost!!!! Now I think the only roller coaster he will ride is rocknroll roller coaster. He won't even go on Space Mountain (I even told him it only goes something like 23 mph... he won't believe me) :rolleyes1

I guess he figures we are married now so he doesn't need to impress me anymore.

Dexter watching train.

Then after a LONG wait... Snow White finally showed up.
The GREAT thing was, I think Dexter had a little crush on her because so far she was the only charter that he would stand and take pictures with.

day five contiued...

We made our way to the petting zoo portion of Rafiki's Planet Watch.
I'm not sure if they call it a petting zoo... but that's basically what it is.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0296.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1039.jpg
We had Dexter on a leash... and thank goodness!!! There are several cast members cleaning up after the animals but Dexter tried to sample a goat 'nugget' several times!! I mean can you blame him?? They do looking like coco puffs!

The park was very over crowded and this plus the first few days of very little sleep were making Shawn very cranky so he decided to go back to POP. So we got back on the train and headed back to Asia.
Shawn left us and went back to the hotel and Mike, Steph, Emmie, Dexter and me went to get FP for the Safari. The FP line seemed like it was almost as long as the stand-by to get on the ride!!! Once we FINALLY got our FP we ate at the Tusker House. Yummmm!!! I haven't really eaten anywhere else at the Animal Kingdom but I think it's safe to say that this is the BEST place to eat!!! You get alot of food for your money too, half a chicken and two sides is like $6-$7 so it's not too much crazier then some places at home.

Mike really wanted to ride Dinosaur! He decided to go solo while Steph and me let the babies run free in the Dino Play area.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1050.jpg
They had lots of fun... and Dexter soon outgrew the baby slide and wanted to try something else.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1054.jpg
They played a little while on the Jeep.
:offtopic: This is where I feel like a politician's wife. Shawn is on the board of directors of a local Jeep club. So if you or someone you know (lives in the Chicago land area or by The BadLands in Attica, IN) and goes off roading in a Jeep check them out www.gljt.org They really are a great group of people and always make sure you and your jeep get off the trail safely. Ok... I'm done. :)

Dexter wanted to play like a big boy so he followed everyone up the stairs and waited his turn in line to go up the rope ladder.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1056.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1059.jpg
He made it up all the way by himself... It took awhile but he made it! There was a big sign that said one person at a time but this one little boy (around 7) kept on trying to get on the rope with Dexter, but a cast member told him to get off. There were other ways to get up to the next level... he just didn't want to wait. Then he turned to me and with a nasty look on his face said, "Why did you let the baby get on???!!!" :scared: I just looked at him and said, "cause the baby wanted to you little jerk" Ok so I didn't call him a little jerk, but I wanted to.

Once we got to the next level the only way down were slides. So Dexter being the brave baby he was picked one. At this point Steph was following Emmie around so there was no one at the bottom to catch him. No big deal for my baby, he just went right down the slide. After I saw he reach the bottom I threw myself into the slide to catch up with him. Only when I reached the bottom he was gone!!!! :scared1: Not a good feeling!!!! The first thing I did was ask the parents around at the bottom of the slide what way he went, but no one seemed to be watching. So next I ran over to the cast member at the entrance and asked them to watch the exit and make sure a little man with a green vest didn't leave. Ok... I covered all the bases... now to find Dexter. I ran around looking every where for him... I found Steph first and she started to help in the baby hunt. Then while I was passing a slide he comes sliding out of it. :yay: I found him!!!! I felt like such and idiot, who lets their almost two year old go down a slide and then run off???
There were two moms at the top of the slide who said that they were keeping an eye on him cause they didn't see anyone with him.
I just can't believe how independent he is... he didn't even care that he was out of sight!! Time to leash him back up and move on.

We met back up with Mike and went back over to Expedition Everest to use their FP. Me and the babies ate a chocolate covered banana while they went on the ride. I guess they liked it, but didn't seem to impressed.
We started feeling very claustrophobic because of the crowds and decided to leave. On the way out I gave someone our FP for the safari (they acted like they were doing me a favor by taking them) and then we headed to the bus.

Mike Steph and Emmie played around the hotel for awhile.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0305.jpg

When we got back Shawn seemed to be feeling better and we took Dexter to the pool.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1068.jpg
I love this picture!!!! And the funny thing about it is that Dexter would run around, then go and sit on a chair, call Shawn over and tell him to sit and then say "ahhhhhh" and lean back!!! Silly Dexter!!! :rotfl:

Dexter kept on running toward the big pool and this little girl kept on bringing him back.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1072.jpg

Tonight were the extra Magical Hours at The Magic Kingdom so we got dried off and headed over. Just our little family wanted to go (I don't remember what Mike Steph & Emmie did). It was still a little early when we got to the Magic Kingdom so we got our bracelets and went it. The first thing we did was ride the train. Dexter liked it and was saying "choo choo"

We then went on Pirates again. (I love this ride)
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1088.jpg

After wishes most everyone left. That was super nice!!!! Little Mr. No-Nap was getting very tired so it would have been the perfect time to leave but we didn't feel like battling with the crowds and we did have our shiny new bracelets. So we went on the Magic Carpet ride & Tried to go on the carousel, but Dexter was way to tired and cranky that we got off before it started.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1099.jpg
my tired little man.

Again.... this would have been a good time to leave but we thought that we would still be fighting for room on a bus, so we thought we would stall just a little longer. The best way to do this is go to Pooh's Play Area.

Tired Dexter was no longer tired!!

We let him play for about 10mins. But then he ran over to the other side of the play area and got soaked from the water sprinklers. Not so big of a deal during the day when it is hot and sunny out... but it was now dark and cold!!! So we picked him up, stripped him down to his diaper & t-shirt and wrapped him in Shawn's sweatshirt.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1102.jpg

He fell asleep almost immediately.

Time to go back to POP, and get some sleep.

Day six...

We woke up at 8:00am and noticed it was raining outside. So like all responsible parents on vacation, we took the kids swimming. :lmao: Hey, you're going to get wet anyway. :)
First to the kiddie pool. We all were stepping on the water sprayers to try and make one shoot high into the sky.

*SPLASH*

When we were done freezing (and the babies started turning blue) we decided to head over to Epcot for our Lunch Reservations in Japan.
I insisted on taking the monorail... that meant we need to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom then a monorail to the Ticket and Transportation and FINALLY hop on our monorail to Epcot.

I think it was worth the trip!! I love how they give you the little tour of Epcot on the monorail. :) Once we got there, Dexter wanted to show Emmie around...

Our Family Picture.

Mike & Shawn wanted to go on the Ellen Energy ride (who knows why :confused3) so me and Steph took the babies to the Character Connection. The line was crazy long!!! And by the time we got our turn Dexter didn't want anything to do with it.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DisneyPhotoImage42.jpg
I think I am the only person out there that feels this way... but I don't like it when the Characters dress up. I was actually a little disappointed when I saw them in their celebration outfits.

After Emmie was done having fun we went and bought them a pretzel. Dexter was super crabby cause he was hungry and tired. After he ate his pretzel he fell asleep.
We met back up with the boys, and since we didn't want to wake up tiny man we separated so that Mike Steph and Emmie could do what ever they wanted to. We decided to meet back up in Japan for lunch.
Shawn Dexter & Me walked around the world toward Japan. I'm not sure why but we ALWAYS walk left around the worlds... this time though we started in Canada and walked Right. I know... I know... it's hard to break Disney traditions but we thought we would try.

It was finally lunch time.
We were a little early, so we killed some time.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0371.jpg

It took Emmie while to get up to the restaurant.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0376.jpg

This was an awesome experiance. One of our Disney Traditions. We almost passed up Mitsukoshi Japan this year because of budget reasons but I am really glad we didn't. We cheated and asked for the latest lunch. This way you basically will only need to eat something little for dinner and you save something like $8-$10 a person!
We didn't know what to expect with Dexter, he isn't the most well behaved boy at restaurants...
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1094.jpg

He loved it when they started cooking!!! He kept on laughing and saying "Oh WOW!!!" It was so cute!! His reaction was so great that Japan will have a permanent place in our budget for years to come!!!

We shopped in Japan for awhile and bought "Pokey" I'm not sure if that's really what it is called... its the skinny bread sticks dipped in chocolate. It's our favorite treat in Japan.

Everyone once again decided to split up in families, our little unit chose to go to Down Town Disney. Since you have to go to a resort to catch a bus there we went to Saratoga Springs. We thought we would just get off the bus there and walk over. It sounded like a great idea at the time... little did I know how BIG the resort was!!!! I think it took us something like 90minutes to find our way and walk over.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1109.jpg
We were able to get this cool picture at sun set.

We played at Disney Quest for awhile, but it's kinda hard to have all that much fun with a two year old there. He likes pushing buttons, and although there are alot of buttons there to push, he didn't really understand what they all did.

After DQ we walked around just for a tiny bit before we headed back to POP.

Here we are playing at the bus stop.

Also, I'd LOVE the recipe for the disney waffles!!!

I made it.... But don't tell anyone
:) Disney has really good high resolution pictures of all the cars charters on their we site... I'm not sure what they were thinking!!! I made my whole family shirts!!
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DisneyPhotoImage101.jpg
Emmie had Sally, Steph had Mater, Mike wore his old shirt (didn't make that one)

and I had Luigi.

You can also buy some of the charters at Disneystore.com in that "make you own shirt" section.

Here is the Waffle Recipe... a few people have asked for it now.

Ingredients
-------------
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/4 cups water
4 tbsp. butter, melted
2 cups Carbon's Golden Malted Flour (official waffle mix of Walt Disney World)
Mickey Mouse Waffler
Directions

Heat up your Mickey Mouse Waffler. Beat eggs and water together, then add flour and mix well. Stir in melted butter and mix well again. Ladle onto waffler, and remove when golden brown.

Day Seven...

This was a morning I was really looking forward to.
We woke up and headed out for breakfast at Fort Wilderness!! As I have mentioned earlier in my TR Trails End Buffet is AWESOME!!!
No reservation required... so once we were ready we just hopped on the bus to the Magic Kingdom and we were on our way. Once we got to the MK the morning opening song & dance was just starting. I was a little disappointed that we were getting on the boat and heading AWAY from the MK... but I did get to catch a bit of it.

On the Boat Ride over to Fort Wilderness.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1122.jpg

When we got there I was sure to ask for Ken. He is awesome and I would be more then willing to wait for a table to get him... but fortunately we didn't have to.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1127.jpg
My little Devil Baby.
I don't know what I am going to do when Dexter turns 3 and we have to start paying for his food.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0394.jpg
This is Ken. I'm telling you I can't say enough nice things about him. He has the enthusiasm like most people do when they are excited cause they just started a new job... only he's been working for Disney for something like 20+ years.

After we stuffed we headed over to the petting zoo.
I remember going to this petting zoo since I was around 5... but it was very different back then. All of the animals roamed free (in the huge fenced area). Now they are all in separate pens and you can't go into the pens and pet them.... so It's more of a "look at the animals and pet through the fence zoo".
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1137.jpg
Dexter tried out the horse. But you have to be over two to ride.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DSCF0396.jpg
Emmie tried too.

Me and my brother went to watch a HUGE horse get new shoes over in the barn while Shawn & Steph took the babies to the park.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_1141.jpg

It was taking forever to get the horse to cooperate so we left before he was finished. We made a quick stop to the 'trading post' (aka another store) and then headed back to POP.

Day Seven Continued...

Dexter fell asleep on the way back to POP so we laid him down for a nap. Shawn stayed with tiny man and I went to take care of some laundry. (I don't really remember what Mike & Steph did.) I was very irritated when I got into the laundry room. There were 4 washers that had stopped (about 30mins ago according to someone in there) and the person who belonged to the clothes in the washers was no where to be found. :headache: I just think that is kind of rude... I was very tempted to take there clothes out and put them in a basket... (after I paced back and forth for about 5 mins) Then they showed up and unloaded the washers and fill up most of the dryers. I was now able to get my laundry done. There were quite a few people doing laundry that day... I guess it had something to do with the Midwest getting buried in snow and people having to extent their trips because they couldn't fly home.
:offtopic: It is snowing right now!!! Come on.. it's April!!!

Dexter woke up and it started raining so we thought it would be a good time to head over to the MK. :)
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2001.jpg
We called Mike & Steph and made plans to meet up in Toon Town. On the way there we grabbed a hot dog.
There was a women in line who must have just gotten to WDW cause she was complaining about a hot dog costing $5 and how she wasn't going to be able to eat on the whole trip if it was going to cost that much. She must be a newbie.

Emmie wanted to go and see Minnie Mouse again so we handed Dexter over the railing so he could join them.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DisneyPhotoImage9.jpg
I guess the key to getting Dexter to behave with the charters is if I am not in the room. Too bad we figured that out at the end of the trip when Mike Steph and Emmie were planning on going home the next day (more on that later).
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/DisneyPhotoImage5.jpg

Emmie was ready to take a nap so their little family headed back to POP. We decided to meet back up later for a swim.

Day Seven part 3...

Before we headed back to POP we started watching the show at the castle (don't remember what it was called... Dreams something)
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2008.jpg
About 8 minutes in everyone on stage stopped dancing and they stopped the show. Shawn said that he thought he saw Donald's legs fly up above his head and land hard on his back. The rain must have made the stage all wet... :lmao: OK... I'm sorry but that's funny!!! I mean sure once you think about it and know that there is someone in the costume that may have gotten hurt that's sad... but to think that Donald was dancing and fell down cartoon style... that's just funny.

When we got back to POP I just laid down on the bed for awhile watching TV while the boys went swimming.

We all were starting to get hungry so we all agreed on Mexico counter service in Epcot and then we would watch the fireworks.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2011.jpg
Emmie really liked the beans!!

The fireworks were awesome... It feels like you are so close to them when you are sitting @ the counter service in Mexico!! The only problem was that it was very smoky.. and then it started feeling like something was falling on us... then it started to feel like it was snowing....
Turns out it was the ash from the fireworks!!!
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2016.jpg

Very cool... but maybe just a bit too close.
We were very slap-happy on the way back to POP. I am not sure why but we were all having one of those 'before babies' moments when we were acting like kids and picking on each other and poking. It was alot of fun... and it almost didn't matter that it took six buses before there was room for us to get on one.

Time to get some sleep... Mike, Steph, and Emmie's flight leaves tomorrow

Day Eight...

We woke up and ate breakfast at POP.
Then headed over and waited for a bus for the Animal Kingdom. Mike & Steph wanted to spend some time there and eat at Tuskers again before heading home.
While we were waiting Emmie threw up all over Mike. So we got out of line and they went to change.
They came back and we got back in line... now the line was starting to get really long. Waiting.... Waiting... Waiting... and Emmie threw up again. I probably should mention that my brother HATES puke... not that I like it but it doesn't bother me like it does him... He was acting like acid had just been poured all over him :scared:
The first time Emmie erupted we all just assumed that she had spit-up... but by the time it happened a second and then third time we knew something must not have been right. The crazy thing is, she was acting normal... it didn't seem to bother her at all.
I think it was after the forth time Emmie threw up that they called the Disney Doctor. They came out to see Emmie and suggested that they put off flying until tomorrow.

While all of this was going on, Dexter was sleeping in the stroller and Shawn & me were playing around at the resort.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2013.jpg
If you look really hard you can see me with my arms up.

Mike & Steph called down to the front desk and reserved a new room. They would have to move their bags but at least they had a place to stay for the night. Plus since there was that snow storm in the Midwest they had no problem rearranging their flight.

Once everything settled down Shawn, Dexter and Me went to MGM Studios.
We went to say hi to Lightning McQueen and then watched the Car Stunt Show (again).
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2038.jpg
We (ok me) wanted to watch Fantasmic. It was already getting late, so we went and grabbed seats. The show didn't start for another 45mins. so we got some food from the stands and waited for it to start. Tiny man wasn't too happy about waiting but that may have been the cotton candy talking. :)

That was only the second time I had ever watched Fantasmic. And I wasn't really all that impressed... I mean the effects were WAY cool... but I don't know if I will go and see it again for a long while.

Day nine...

Since we didn't make it there the day before we decided to go to Animal Kingdom. The goal today was NOT to lose Dexter in the Bone Yard.
Emmie was feeling better, so they were going to go AK also. They left earlier in the morning then us, so we were going to meet up just for a bit before they had to leave.

When we finally got our act together we called up Mike and made plans to meet at the Dinosaur ride. Shawn wanted to ride, and he knew I couldn't go on. This time I waited for him before me and Dexter went on any more adventures.

We all said our goodbyes. Mike and his family were going to do a few more things at AK and then go home.

Of course when Shawn saw the Jeep he had to take a picture.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2050.jpg

Dexter ran and ran and went down a bunch of slides.

This one is more of Shawn's speed cause he doesn't like drops. :rotfl:

Dexter was fine on the Big Boy slides until we convinced him to go on the "Mother of all Slides" I don't have a full size picture but if you have ever been to the bone yard you know the one. It is very very high and spirals all the way down.

Here were are after I was done torturing my baby.

We went on the Safari and it was the best one I had ever been on. It seemed like all the animals were out and about. We even had to stop several times because they were walking across the road!! (don't have any pictures)

When we were on our way out of the park we saw the 'tree lady'
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2068.jpg

Time to go BACK to MK... Shawn was very tried of his favorite park by the time we left. I think we went there over five times in 10 days.

Poor Emmie! Did they make it back with Emmie the next day? Did their airline charge them a small fortune to change their flight?

More wonderful pictures of the 2 cutie-patooties!

I love how many chapters you pumped out yesterday. Nothing like sitting home in a spring snow storm. For what it's worth we have just over 2 inches (MN) and it is already melting...Yuck!

They made it back just fine with Emmie. She hadn't 'erupted' since they had seen the Disney Doctor. They gave her some medicine and then she was all better. Although a day after they got back Steph got the adult version. I guess she was VERY sick. (i won't go into details)

Southwest Airlines didn't charge them any extra to change flight plans. I guess there were alot of flights cancelled the day before because of the snow storm... so there were plenty of people who wanted their seats. Worked out pretty good.

Here is the latest picture of Emmie & Dexter...
Emmie just turned One and Dexter just turned Two so we got their pictures taken together.

Day Nine... part two...

We headed over to the MK and ate lunch at Pecos Bill's (i think that's what it's called  ) counter service. After we loaded up our burgers with mushrooms and other 'fixins' we took our tray to eat outside.
After awhile I started to feel like we were being watched.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2072.jpg

Then Shawn thought it would be funny to throw some food in the dirt on the OTHER side of the table. I thought I was in a wind storm!!! All of those birds flew right over my head almost touching me.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2074.jpg

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2079.jpg

After lunch we let Dexter play for awhile in Pooh's Play Area. He was doing so much better with waiting his turn!! In the beginning of the trip he just wanted to go NOW!!

Cars (the movie) was playing tonight at the Fort Wilderness Camp Fire. So we thought we would go. This week was the longest Dexter had ever gone without watching his favorite movie (since he discovered it a month ago).
We took the boat over to Fort Wilderness and walked around for awhile. Tiny Man fell asleep so it was nice and relaxing just to walk through the 'forest'. I think this is the only place in Disney were the trees are really trees :)

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2085.jpg
Messing around near the camp fire.

We were a little early so we had first dibs to seats near the movie screen and the fire.
For those of you who have never been to the Camp Fire it's awesome! It starts around 7pm and first they have a camp fire sing along with Chip & Dale.

After I took this picture a cast member informed me that having Dexter sit on the barrel wasn't the best idea. I guess kids fall through them all the time. I just wonder why they don't have a sign up.

Then you can sit around and roast Marshmallows. Don't worry if you forgot to pack them. They sell a Kit with two sticks and Marshmallows for $3 (give or take a dollar).

Dexter liked blowing out the fire.

We made it through most of the movie... just up until Lighting McQueen and Mater go 'cow' tippin. For some reason that part always freaks Dexter out. We could tell he was very tired... and it was a long trip back to POP so we thought it was a good time to leave.

Bye Bye Fort Wilderness.... see you next time.

Day 10...

This report day is going to be really short.
I didn't take great notes so I do not remember everything that happened. But I do remember that we had been in Disney for a very long time at this point and were starting to wear down.

This was going to be another Epcot day. When we got there we started to see the sea of people.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2113.jpg
It was crazy!!!

Shawn finally wanted to try Mission Space, so we went and grabbed a fast pass for him. I went on this ride alone the year it came out. I could tell he wanted to try it, but he wouldn't believe me that it didn't have any drops . So after asking several people, for several years, he thought it would be safe to give it a try.
The fast pass wasn't good for a few hours so we headed over to Nemo... I can't get enough of those birds!!! "Mine, Mine, Mine." We didn't have to wait too long for the ride. Maybe 10mins. But it really takes around 10mins just to walk from the entrance to where the ride starts.
After the ride we just happened to get out when they were starting the Turtle Crush Show. I couldn't believe that we were able to just walk in!!! I have read that you have to wait forever to just watch it. This show is soooo funny!!! I would really like to know how they do it.... I imagine that it is someone in one of those full bodysuits with sensors, so when they move so does the charter on the screen. But I bet it's just done all with computer. I guess I'll never know all the ways of Disney Magic.
When we were done with the Living Seas we couldn't believe our eyes... the line for Nemo was all the way to Innovations!!!!
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2116.jpg
PLEASE don't wait this long for Nemo... thats crazy!!!

Shawn brought me over to Soarin' I really wanted to try and get in the front row. So I grabbed a FP.

It was time for Mission Space. Shawn liked it, but of course once he found out that you should keep your eyes forward and not look around, he did the bright thing and looked around. So he got a little sick.

We then went back to soarin' and I was able to get in the front row. This ride is sooooo much better in the front row. I love it!!! Only when I was finished with the ride I came out to a screaming Dexter. Shawn said that he started crying as soon as I left. OOPS... but I couldn't help still being happy that I was able to get in the front row.

Our last goal for Epcot was to head back to Japan. Shawn wanted to buy some little ninja guys. We found him some 'toys' and bought some more candy. By this time the crowds were just too much and we thought it would be a good time to leave.

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2123.jpg
Bye Epcot!!

Last time we came to Disney World Shawn REALLY wanted an ice cream sundae from DTD. So we headed over. It was very good. We both got our own, and Dexter tried to eat most of mine. While we were there we picked up the few things we had been looking at all week. We were so good on this trip... we ended up spending less then $75 on souvenirs.

We grabbed some sandwiches from Earl and headed back to POP. (I love earl)

Time to go home and pack. Tomorrow we will be leaving Disney World. :sad1:

Day eleven...

This was the day we were supposed to fly home... little did we know that by the end of the day all of our plans would change.
We were all packed (thanks to me) and didn't know where to spend our last day.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2127.jpg
Bye Bye POP...

I really wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom... Shawn didn't have too much to say besides, "We've been there a millions times already!!!"
We lugged all of our bags over to check them in.
FYI - the long line to the right is people checking their bags and checking into their flight. If you are just checking your bags go to the left... We waited in the wrong line for about 15 minutes before I wised up and asked someone.

After our items were all locked up we caught the bus to the Magic Kingdom. We bought some fudge and some other chocolate to take home with us. We didn't have much time to do anything, so we just walked over to Pooh's Play Area and let Dexter run around for the last time.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2136.jpg
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2135.jpg

Then it was time to go. We were ready... it had been a long trip and it was definitely time to head back to reality.

Here's Dexter Saying Goodbye...

Next up... everything changes... :sad2:

Day Eleven Continued...

WARNING!!!!! First of all I would just like to say that the following is not filled with Disney Magic or any sort of fun.... I'm not really sure why I am including this in my TR... but it was part of my trip... and maybe it's closure for me. I am NOT doing this for sympathy... so there is no reason to fill up responses with any more sadness (after this one). I'm good now... and I know that it is very hard to know what to say to people who have lost pregnancies. I have moved on and am looking to the future. There were a few weeks in there that I was almost ready to give up my dream of having two babies. Kinda scared of what may happen if I get pregnant again... but from all of the personal stories people have shared with me, I now know that life is very uncertain and some times you just have to take chances.
One more thing... I'm not going to say anything really gross... but I'm just warning you, that I may say some things that may be gross to some people. You've been warned! :scared:

OK.... here it goes.

When we got back to POP we ate lunch. Not the best lunch in the world, but I wasn't expecting much. :) Then we walked over to the luggage counter and picked up our stuff. I thought we had alot of luggage... but after reading other peoples TR and seeing their pictures. We didn't have enough!!!
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2159.jpg

Shawn & Dexter played for awhile in front of POP.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2154.jpg
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2157.jpg

The bus was running late.... I mean WAY late. We were supposed to catch the 2:15 bus and by the time it showed up the 3:15 people were waiting!!! But it turns out that the bus delay was a good one for us.
I just wasn't feeling right... not that I was feeling sick... or in any pain... but I wasn't feeling right. I figured that I would run to the bathroom real fast just to set my mind at ease. I thought to myself, I'll just go and then when I see that nothing is wrong I'll not worry again. (the really crazy thing about all of this, is that the night before when we were at DTD I asked Shawn... "Do you think the baby is ok?") When I was in the bathroom all of my worries came to life. I was bleeding... alot. :sad1:
I couldn't believe it... I mean I am the kind of person who gets a mosquito bite and thinks they have West Nile disease. Not because I exhibit any of the symptoms... just because it's out there.
So when I actually saw that what I was afraid of, was true... I was in shock. I had left all of my stuff out with Shawn, so I had to go and get my wallet to buy pads. When I got outside and told him he was visibly upset but also in disbelieve. By this time tears were streaming down my face and I still had to go to the gift shop and buy something I wasn't planning on purchasing for awhile.
There were three cast members at the desk... and all I could think of was them talking about me when I walked away saying... What was her problem... she can still go swimming???
I made it back to the bus and we just stood there waiting for the bus to arrive... by now I was getting upset, not only because of what was happening to me... but now even more so I wanted just to go home and that stinkin bus still wasn't there!!!
When the bus finally did arrive it was crazy. People were just throwing there stuff into the bus and boarding. I was helping Shawn figure out where we were supposed to put our bags when I heard the bus driver say there were only a few seats left. I was so mad when I found out that people who had later pick ups then us were taking out seats. Fortunately I grabbed the last two seats.
It's only human nature to wonder what is going on with the crazy crying girl... but could hear the people in my head... "What a baby... why is she crying just cause she is leaving the World." (just to clarify, people weren't saying that out loud). On the way to the airport I called my mom and she said that I should call my doctor. I did and they said that I should go to the hospital... She said that "IF" I was having a miscarriage it could be very dangerous to fly... that you could 'bleed out'.
I wasn't happy about this at all... I just wanted to be home!! When we got to South West we talked to a manager who was very helpful. She got us directions to a hospital and looked for a hotel room for us. She said that she would give us a hotel voucher but it was a busy weekend (daytona 500) and no one was taking vouchers... not only that but she wasn't able to find us a room anywhere. I wish I would have gotten her name... She was more then helpful and went above and beyond.
The next flight was at 7am... (it was around 5:30pm at the time) so she gave us a phone number to call later in the evening to check for a room, just in case by some miracle one comes available.
We went outside a caught a cab to the hospital. The car seat they put Dexter in was a JOKE!!! I'm not sure it was safe at all... I'm just very glad we didn't have to find out if it worked or not.
$60 later we were at the hospital. I'm really not sure why the make you wait so long... and why they don't talk to each other. We were asked the same questions OVER and OVER again!!! The one funny thing that did happen at the hospital was - When the Dr. (finally) came in she asked (again) how many times have I been pregnant... and Dexter said, "Two" :) gotta love my little man!!!
They checked my out and did an ultrasound where they found a sac but no baby. They told me it was safe to fly and they were not 100% sure of what was happening. They said that my conception date may have been off and that it may just be too soon to see anything. :sad2:

We called and tried to get a hotel reservation but there were none available anywhere near the airport.

Did I mention that this was a women & baby hospital?? So it seemed like every 10 minutes a new mother would leave with a brand spanken new little bundle of joy. Not the greatest thing to be around when you just lost a pregnancy.
There was this one couple that got me sooooo mad!!! The new mommy waited inside while the father pulled up their car. He comes around the corner with his music blasting... I mean LOUD... we were sitting on a bench outside maybe 50-100 feet away from the car and we heard & felt the music... and did I mention that the windows were up. I thought for sure he was going to turn off the music once he pulled over to pick up the baby... NOPE. Ok... he's going to turn it down once the baby gets but in right??? NOPE!!! I'm not even sure if the baby went into a car seat... cause he passed the baby to it's mommy and they drove off within 10 seconds. (I have a two year old and I still can't do it that fast!) The nurses just walked passed us shaking their heads. :headache:

We called for a cab and waited... and waited... then 15 minutes later someone pulled up but he didn't have a baby seat for Dexter. Although he offered to take us anyway... AHH NOOOOO!!! So after 45 minutes one of the nurses came out from the hospital and said that her dad owns a taxi company and that she had a car seat if we would like her to take us to the airport. $50 later we are back to the airport. By this time it is around 11:30pm seven and a half hours from our flight.

The airport was deserted... If I wasn't going through what just happened... and I didn't have a two year old with me... I would have viewed it as an adventure. I mean Tom Hanks did it. :thumbsup2

DAY TWELVE...

I was able to get a little sleep.
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u299/NATALE1980/Disney%202007/disney07_2162.jpg
We boxed Dexter in just in case Shawn nodded off also. I woke up a few hours later feeling VERY sick... I hadn't eaten since around 1:30pm the day before and was starving. Nothing opened at the airport until 5am. I let Shawn sleep for awhile and I stood Gard.

I think I was first in line at Krispy Kream... It was the first place to open. McDonalds didn't open until 5:30am... I got us both a donut and chocolate milk to hold us over until McDondlds opened. (this isn't really the food to eat if you want to feel better)

The ticket booths finally opened at 6am. We gave them our names and the ticket agent said that we had a $500 balance!!!!! We told her that the person the day before didn't say anything about a extra charge and they cleared it up. We paid less then $300 for our round trip tickets... so I was freaked out at the possibility of paying an extra $500 just to get home. We grabbed our boarding passes, checked our luggage and went to the next waiting area. I'm sure we looked (and smelled) great!!! ;)

The flight was uneventful. Dexter and Me slept.

Nope.. not me. I have a Saturn with a HUGE Mickey decal on my back window. I bought the decal one year in Wisconsin Dells... the guy looked at me weird when I said I was going to put it on my car... he said that most people put them on a big mirror in a 'Disney' room.

Oh Natalie,
I am so sorry for your loss, again, I know I expressed it when we felt like we were experiencing this along with you, obviously you are healing quite well now since you are able to share this which at first you didn't think you could ever do.
I love how Dexter said "two" when the doctors were asking all of the questions. My DD was born prematurely because my DS who was about Dexter's age did a running jump on my belly and caused premature labor, it was SUPER scary, so I understand the fear of not knowing and going through those emmotions, fortunately mine had a happier ending, but I was crying as I read your story because I felt it right along with you.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this report and look forward to your future reports and trips to the World.

Thanks so much for your trip report and I do hope it was sort of a healing process for you. There really are no true "miracle" words to say to someone who has been through that (and you know that I know from experience also). I guess one fairly decent thought would be that thank God it all happened on the day that you were leaving Disney World. You were able to have a good time with your family. Time does heal and new memories help. Here's to new memories and time!

Now that I am done I can finaly make my photo album. I was makeing myself wait (a kind of self motivation to get my TR done).

Thank you for all the :grouphug: hugs and all of your personal experiences. Sometimes when you are going through stressful times (physical, emotional or financial) it seems like you are the only one dealing with a situation like that.... Knowing that other people have gone through something similar and came out on top really helps.
I do not think my recovery process would have gone as smooth without all of your kind words.

Hope to read all of your TR!!! Keep them coming!!!

Great TR! Sorry about your loss. I had a m/c similar to yours between my two kids. It was heartbreaking, I also had to have a D&C. I am sure you've heard this from others who've gone through it. But now, I have this beautiful little 19 month old girl and I look at her and know why I had the m/c. If not for that m/c I would not have my precious girl. Sorry it happened on your trip though.

My brothers family is staying at FT. wilderness because they are the explorer type. My immediate family is staying at Poly because we think Holiday Inn is camping. My kids are scared of bugs and snakes even DS and DH  Their kids are adventurous and my DD is a very girly girl. I told them to ask for Ken because they made and ADR for Breakfast at Trail End. That is funny about the plants though especially since SIL has a major green thumb I will tell her about them.

I used to dress up my old girl she is 13 now, but that was before we had kids ;) . I love the minnie dress. I have to show my DD7 that dress, I'm sure she will want it for her Shih Tzu Daisy.

Thanks kaysmommie!!!! She is very cute, if I must say so myself! I did get her from a breeder, and they charged me extra $$$ b/c she was solid white! Imagine that! But she's a doll, and I dress her up all the time... I make all of her clothes since I have a dog clothes business so she has to be my model! She won't even work for treats anymore--- it's cheese... Pretty soon it'll be steak! She's a stubborn little thing!

Wow, endings are a bummer...but yours was just too much. You have so many great memories from this trip and such a great positive attitude. I can tell you know the sun will always come up tomorrow..even when we have cloudy days...

Thanks for sharing the whole trip with us. :)

Nat,

Thank you for sharing your trip report with us. Dexter is a little cutie-pie :cloud9:

Again, I'm very sorry for your loss. I too went through the same thing twice after my first daughter was born. Isn't it awful that they put you on the maternity ward after the D&C? I was horrified at the time. My doctor told me to take my "one" child and run because she too was a high risk pregnancy and he thought I wouldn't be able to have any more children. Thank god, I proved him wrong and had another beautiful daughter.

Hope to see you posting another TR soon :thumbsup2
