We finally decided to buy last week and I called our guide (from our tour in November) Michelle Carcel and have left her over 4 messages. She has not called us back in 9 days! I even called SSR directly and spoke to a women who said she has seen her in the past few days. i don't know why she hasn't called us back. I realize she is busy, but I specifically stated we wanted to buy, so I though she would call back right away.:confused3

With that said, I would like a guide who is a little more...what's the word?...responsive??? Can anyone recommend a good one to me? TIA!

Is PA one of the states where DVC isn't registered, and not allowed to sell directly?

My guide tells me that Pennsylvania is one fo the top states for DVC ownership, and I am certain the DVC is approved to sell directly there. So I cannot imagine why your guide would not return your phone calls, expecially since you are ready to buy.

Our guide is excellent. But she only works part-time, usually the end of the week. But she always returns my phonecalls, even if I am only calling in a referral or just asking about AKV (which she tells me she can;t tell me anything yet).

I'll PM you with her name and number.:thumbsup2

Good Luck!

There are some states where DVC is not registered with whatever department they need to be in order to sell DVC by mail or phone in that state. If PA was one of those states (apparently not by the previous post) then DVC guides can not speak with people about DVC. The only way to buy DVC in those states is via resale or when the people visit WDW.

My mother just purchased in PA over the phone.
They did have a problem with no response from a female guide. When the called to complain they were given a new guide since the original one was on vacation. No problem since.

We have Michelle and I've had problems getting return calls too. She was very nice once we spoke to her but it was a challenge.

No, Chuck, DVC is registered here - no problem.

My guide is Randy Kruger, and he is fantastic. Very responsive, but not pushy at all. He's always returned any phone calls we've made in a timely manner.

Wow- this is bad- because last week you could get the $86 per point price and now you can't (unless they extended it- which I haven't heard). So her not returning your calls could cost you dearly. I would try and get a new guide and see if they will give you the $86 price since you have been trying to call and purchase during the promo.

If your have been leaving messages and no return calls, I would call direct and tell them you have been trying to buy, wanted to get in before the increase, and that your guide has never called you back! Be firm!

There are many excellent guides and you should not have to work with someone whom you feel you can't trust to call back, etc. PM'd you with my wonderful guide...

Be very firm and get it princesspiglet. It has always been said that if potential DVCers or DVCers adding on left a message before the deadline it would be validated. Some guides even leave that message on their machine close to the expiration if they aren't in those days. It just makes sense. Because you are trying to buy and can't get them on the line. Not your fault.

All the best and an early Welcome Home:thumbsup2 ! Here's to some wonderful vacations.

Call in, ask for her supervisor, tell him/her the issue and either ask for another guide or have the supervisor take the order. I also had an issue similar but also found out my guide quit a few days before and no one told me. Ron Brumbaugh was my new guide and he was extremely helpful.

I am amazed at the unprofessional behavior of not returning phone calls. My guide always called me back the same day, especially when I would say that it related to a sale or an add-on. Other than taking a turn as a DVC rep on a Disney cruise, there really is no excuse, especially with the F&F promo ending last week. Disney should definitely honor the promo to you because it is not your fault that you reached out to them in time, but they did not. I agree that you should speak with a supervisor. I hope pixie dust goes your way on getting the promo rate you deserve. pixiedust:

Good Luck!

Our guide is Julie Vivas, and we think she's fantastic! Very responsive, but never pushy or anything. If you still need a guide PM me and I'll send along her info.

We made the call last night and the guide we spoke to is verifying if we can still use the promotion since we called during the time period it was offered. I guess he is verifying with Michelle that we did leave the messages....will see.

I told him we would not be buying if we are not able to get the promotion, hopefully that will motivate him!

I will keep you all posted! Thanks alot!!

our guide is Edwin Mastrapa. He was real good to work with. we just signed up last week while we were staying at SSR and were able to get the F&F promo at $85.00/pt. Plus they were doing aug 06 use year, so we'll be able to vacation twice in aug 07 use year since we banked all of our aug 06 points into aug 07 use year.

i'd look into whether you can still get in on the $85.00/pt F&F deal since your guide cost you to miss the deadline.

good luck!

Not that this is any help, but the lack of responsiveness from not 1, but 2 different guides was a major factor in us buying most of our DVC points through resale. I'm sure there are great guides...we have yet to have one though...we've pushed the point and been stuck with somebody else who was almost just as unresponsive.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Well, after our 2nd guide failed to call us back within 48 hours, I got fed up. I called Jason Eperling at the Timeshare Share who is wonderful and has called me everyday since! We are going to buy re-sale through them because he was/is very responsive.

Hopefully in 3-4 weeks we will find out if we are an owner at SSR!!

Hi,
We had no problem purchasing at SS and we live in PA. We purchased last June after visiting, signed nothing while there.

Our guide was very professional and responsive to our questions, her name is Theresa Seitz 407 827-4415.

Good Luck! Darlene

I, too, have had a difficult time getting my guide (Jeff) to call back. I called four times and still haven't heard from him.

How can I tell if my state (Virginia) is one where we cannot buy over the phone?

Thanks for the help!

Marsha
