My husband and I have been talking about making an additional purchase with DVC, hopefully at the VWL.

If you have purchased a DVC resale, did you go through DVC or the Timeshare Store?

Thanks for any info!

A few years ago, we decided that we needed more points as I was always borrowing from the next year's allotment.
I called DVC first, but they didn't have any Boardwalk points with the use year I wanted. (I wanted the same use year so that I could keep track of things easier.) I then went to the Timeshare store, and found just what we wanted within two weeks.

Just finished my 3rd purchase through the TST. It was easy and painless, just sign, send a check and you're done! Great service.

We bought from TSS our VWL contract and were very pleased with the service. We hope to add on at some point and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

We just closed with TSS. Tom and his wife are wonderful people and the staff knows the business.

It is a sad day when someone has to sell their DVC. TSS handles this with respect and does the best they can to help out the seller. Remember that Disney does control prices of DVC resales so there is no "real deal" but when you buy from TSS you are also helping out another DVC member who is most likely having a very sad day.

If you have purchased a DVC resale, did you go through DVC or the Timeshare Store?I bought my initial contract (BWV) through TTS. I added on at VWL through Disney. If you are adding on a small number of points, the premium prices for small contracts plus the closing costs and dues reimbursement you pay when purchasing resale makes the total resale price very close to and possibly higher than what Disney charges. Disney gives you current UY points with your purchase and your first-year dues will be pro-rated from the day you get the points (usually 24 hours after paying your deposit). Many of us who have purchased VWL directly from Disney got the points immediately. If you do have to go on a waiting list for your particular Use Year, you will probably not have to wait very long.

ETA: The current price to add on at VWL through Disney is $95/point.

We bought 2 contracts at Boardwalk; one from Jaki (she was wonderful!) at A Timeshare Broker http://********************/disney/buy-disney.html and then the other small contract a couple of years ago through Disney when they suddenly had a supply ob BWV points. Both with the same use year.

Both were a great experience.

When we recently purchased our SSR membership through resale, Jackie at International Properties GMAC Real Estate was our agent. She's a Disney Vacation Club specialist at GMAC.

Jackie was the most knowledgeable, and professional, resale agent we spoke with....and we spoke with all of the companies. For us, there is no other DVC reseller in the Orlando area!

We also used Jaki when we bought an OKW contract. She was efficient, and very professional. It was very fast. I tried TTS first, but I found that their attitude about offering less than the asking price was not in line with my thinking. Jaki had no problem with that, and I got my contract fully loaded for $3 less per pt, saving me $800, which more than paid my closing fees. It took just over 4 weeks from beginning to end, which also seemed faster than TTS. I would definitely recommend Jaki.:)
