I have tried the link to the Winners List several times and it never actually shows a way to get to the list. I was just curious as to what large prizes have already been given away. Do you suppose it won't be active until the promo is over and all the prizes awarded?

ToriLammy
02-07-2007, 04:47 PM
The Winner's list is not a link to an actual list but instructions in the rules on how to obtain a winners' list.

To obtain a list of major prize winners, go online to www.disneyparks.com/winners or mail, postage pre-paid, a hand-printed SASE to: P.O. Box 1406, Elmhurst, IL 60126 (residents of the United Kingdom may send requests to: DDG Winners List/Rules Request, Suite 125, 483 Green Lanes London N13 4BS (please indicate that your request is for a winners list)). The major prize winners list will be mailed when the Giveaway is officially over and winners are verified and prizes are awarded. A list of major prize winners will be available no sooner than April 15, 2008 and not after sixty (60) days from the date of first availability. Only one request per outer envelope, mailed separately, will be fulfilled. Do not send comments or questions to this address. Residents of Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico may omit return postage.

the rules say "... on a 3.5"x5" postcard and sending it with proper postage affixed to..."

Does that mean to affix postage to the postcard? That's what it sounds like, but I'd hate to waste all those stamps if they're just putting in a dumbo clause to remind people to put a stamp on their envelope.

they are just telling you to make sure that you put enough postage on the card, since they go up constantly and to make sure that people don't complain about getting their cards back even though they didn't put a stamp on it.

I just use the ones from the post office so I don't have to worry about it being big enough for the post office and small enough for disney plus I don't have to worry about putting the stamps on.

The post office sells plain white standard-sized post cards with the required 26-cent postage pre-printed on the cards. The cards are 28 cents each (26 cents for the postage and 2 cents for the card). Just ask for them at the counter.

So let me get this right...the draw vs delivery of a potential prize is about 3 months? I was looking for this and couldn't find it before.

I got a pair of ears already a couple months ago, one pair had Disney World, and the other had Disneyland on them! I'm still hoping for a lanyard. I took a break from mailing and just got back into it, although i forgot to mail my cards today >_<

Ah well, there's always tomorrow!

I seem to recall one other poster who put her/his postcards in sealed envelopes. Don't remember if she/he had won anything, though.

A sealed envelope costs 41 cents to mail and a postcard only costs 26 cents.

Most people just send the naked postcards. ;)

Thanks! My son is so lucky! He wins things all the time. I was sure that when we went to Disney he would win something but we never saw any dream team or any prizes either. It was on our last day that we saw tons of dream fast passes. I'm not one of those complaining about no prizes. I think it is a nice touch to offer prizes to visitors. :yay:

You only need to put the Disney part if mailing from UK

if a legal resident of the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Canada or Mexico: P.O. Box 8629, Elmhurst, IL 60126; or (ii) if a legal resident of the United Kingdom: Disney Dream Giveaway, 483 Green Lanes, London N13 4BS. I believe the rules state that the mail-in drawings only occur once a month (on the 20th of each month, I think). Then later on, it states that winners will be notified by mail in 55 days.

So 3 months is probably the minimum amount of time that you'd have to wait.

You may already be a winner...

I don't have any personal knowledge about how/when the drawings are done (although I've heard several different thoughts on it), but I stopped sending in postcards in the beginning of November and I just got more lanyards in the mail last week. Disney also stopped sending the hats and lanyards by certified mail and are now just sending them regular first class mail.

And if you would win that months would they send it that month or the end of the year when its over?

The rules note that the daily drawings for the previous month are done on about the 20th of every month.

Then it takes 55 days to notify you of a win.

So if you sent an entry today (February 18), your entry wouldn't be considered until the March 20 drawing, and if you won you'd know before May 15.

Remember the three P's of winning a contest: persistence, postage and patience.

Wish some luck would come our way...been sending in entries since last year only to win nothing. :sad2: Even our trips - we won nothing (but we were just happy to be at Disney, so it didn't matter).

And this year it doesn't look like we'll be going to Disney :sad1: due to DH having quintuple bypass recently and he still needs bypass surgery on both legs.

It would certainly cheer him up if we won. Oh well! At least the post office is getting a work out! :rotfl:

Disney8704

Just giving this a bump for any newbies out there. And to ask this question. Why is it that people are having a hard time understanding how YOAMD works? Its not that difficult. I keep reading people asking how to sign up to win and where? :confused3 Its plain and simple. There is NO signing up. You just go to the parks or DTD and thats it. Or send your postcards in through the mail. At first it was OK to ask those questions. But now that its been going on for over a year, theres tons and tons of threads on YOAMD, but yet people keep asking the exact same quesitons, over and over. And frankly, Im so sick of reading those same questions. Yes I know I dont have to read them, but would it kill anyone to look on the boards for the answer before posting a new thread about a question that has been asked and answered a thousand times already? Isnt that part of the rules for the board anyway? Seek before asking? :confused3

On the side note - I did enter my 1st time today by mail. Praying that I win something all the way to the mailbox. And what do you know I find in the mail? Nothing but pixie dust! pixiedust: I put my entry in the mail, put my key into the lock on my mailbox opened it, and found 1 - a rebate check sent to DH for $252!! :cheer2: :yay: Which will now go towards our Disney trip this August AND the customized maps I ordered from disneyworld.com. I felt like crying I was so happy. So who knows, since I got pixie dust in my mail today, maybe the pixie dust will transfer to the outgoing box and land on my entry and stay on my entry until they get it and send me something. I plan on entering once a week.

by hand-writing their full name, complete mailing address (including postal code), daytime telephone number (including area code), and date of birth on a piece of paper or postcard and sending it with proper postage affixed to: P.O. Box 8650, Elmhurst, IL 60126, USA

I believe the address you have is last years.

I always draw a mickey head with a highlighter on my postcards but I have yet to win a thing this year.:confused3

Well, I bought 30 more postcards and I will try 1 each day with these last ones. Maybe mine are too plain and they are not interesting enough for them to look at. :rotfl:

All I want are dream ears for me and my daughter. ;) Maybe Disney will send us a little Christmas gift. Would be nice if I won enough to share, but I would be happy with 2.

Please please please pick me, Disney! :teeth:

We won dream ears at AKL when we got off Expedition Everest but I have been sending in postcards and playing the online contest too but nothing.
