Thursday 28th December

Today we are moving to VWL - I woke up at 7am and headed up to the lounge for my last look at the lovely view. I took some breakfast back for DH and when DD was awake, she and I caught the boat over to WL so that we could check in.

This was a great way to see WL for the first time. We got off the boat and walked on a wooden walkway through some woods then past the main pool and into the resort. I really like the look of this place and am looking forward to staying here. We went to the check in and there was one person in front of us. We didn’t have to wait long but as I assumed, our room wasn’t ready. We were given a number to call later to find out when it would be ready.

DD and I went back to CR and had some more breakfast, DH started taking the millions of bags down to the car (we didn’t bother to fully pack for the move). When the car was loaded we had one last coffee and said goodbye to the CR. Lou Ann was on a day off but one of the other CM’s said they would give the present to her tomorrow.

We set off for DTD to check if Virgin had any Nintendo’s in yet but they still didn’t and said it was unlikely they’d get any before 2007. We went to McD’s for yet more Yu-Gi-Oh cards and from there had a quick look in the Lego store. There was a Believe set for DD with 20% off because the box was damaged so using the voucher we got when DS bought the Death Star we got DD’s set for $17 (should have been $50)

When we finished at DTD we headed over to WL and our room was ready. We were on 4th floor with a woods view.

We were pleased with the location and once bell services bought the bags it soon looked like we had been there for months.

The kids were desperate to swim in the pool, so DH took them down and once I got some washing done I joined them. It was sunny and warm but chilly when the sun went behind the clouds. The pool was busy but not too bad. We stayed there for a couple of hours and then had to go back to Golden Corral for DS. We left the Golden Corral and got back to WL for half 6. Our sleight ride was booked for 7pm but as the half 6 booking didn’t show up. They gave them until 6:40 then let us go on our ride.

Our horse was Travis and according to the driver he was one of the fastest in Disney. We were out for exactly the same amount of time as the other horse but we covered much more ground. The journey through the woods was lovely, we had a blanket around us and it was a clear moonlit night you could hear the clip clop of the hooves and the jingle of the sleigh bells. We all enjoyed this and it was another one of our highlights.

When the ride was over we went back into the lodge and did some pin trading before buying some basic supplies and heading back to the room where we watched some TV and went to bed at about 10pm.

Weather Warm, sunny and cloudy. Clothes shorts and t-shirts with a zip top in the evening
