I recently exchanged my RCI timeshare for 2 weeks at OLCC. I have stayed there before with friends that own a unit in North Village, so I am aware of what the resort offers in terms of pools, restaurants, golf, etc.

I have been reading here that RCI exchangers are being put in the West Village which I have heard good and bad things.

Does anyone have recent pictures of an OLCC "West Village" unit so I can see what I am in for?

Also, if anyone can reccommend a particular unit number in the West Village that is nice and in a good location.

I don't know if I have any pictures or not but when we stayed 2 years ago I was in the West Village for one week and then the North Village for the 2nd week. Although I had two weeks booked, they could not keep me in the same room since one had a Saturday check in and one a Sunday check in. Probably the only reason we got into the North Village is because I complained a bit and they were trying to accomodate me.

Anyway, the big difference in rooms is the layout. When you walk in a West Village room, you have your kitchen and dining room table. You also have the 2nd bedroom entrance. Then there's a railing and a step down to the living room area and entry into master bedroom/bathroom. Our room was right on the golf course. There is no screened in porch (at least where we stayed) so the door opened to a small grassy area. The West Village is also known as golf village so the villas are one floor only. The section we were in was not near the main road but in the back a bit. It was in a cul de sac street and quiet. It would have been a bit of a walk to even the west village pool area but we just drove down to the Splash Pool Area anyway. Now the East Village has the new waterpark area which is supposed to be nice.

Hopefully this gives you some idea of what to expect.

At least the place is clean. Outdated, but clean.

One last try. Anyone with pictures of a West Village Villa. :confused3

my problem was not a swimming pool close enough. I hate to drive the car to swimming pools.

we were lucky got a rehab room (building) and it was GREAT.

oh forgot - OL was the only timeshare we have visited that had a regular bathroom in the master.

no whirlpool tub, no separate shower (which was very hard on mother) - also it had steps inside the unit. (also hard on her)

Here is a URL of the remodeled West Village Golf Villa's, http://users.adelphia.net/~gjw007/WV/WV.htm. The remodeling includes a regular size tub with whirlpool jets.

Just wanted to say thanks for the photos. We are staying at Orange Lake as a RCI exchange and I am worried about the unit they will put us in. But we can deal with almost anything if we have to.

Well, the remodeled West Village rooms looks good. I see they replaced the black railing with a wall and updated the bathrooms and kitchen countertops. Honestly, I think you can't go wrong at this resort, especially with the new River Island area. We hope to go back in the next couple years.

We were on RCI exchange the last two years and both times we were put in the East Village. The rooms looked pretty much like the ones above. Beautiful place ... but this year we are going with Windsor Hills.

Thanks for the pictures. We're staying here the week of Feb 10th. we're used to staying at Vacation Village at Parkway in Jan/Feb, that seems to be the only availabilty there ever is so I was surprised to see this one come up. We're looking forward to it.

Do the buildings have elevators?

RCI exchangers are generally put in West - the pictures.

It is one floor - actually like separate little houses - or townhouses - but only one floor.

Well, most of the West village is one floor villas....the bldg. in the North Village where we stayed only had 2 floors so there were stairs. I imagine the buildings in East Village with multiple floors have elevators.

I think this resort beats Vacation Village at Parkway hands down.

Thanks!

I like the full kitchen unit at Vacation Village, well I like the jacuzzi tub ;) What I don't like is that you would need to get back to the resort by 6pm in order to get a decent parking place.
