Can you book your home resort at 11 months out

and then at 7 months try and get a different resort even though you are already booked at your home resort?

We are thinking we might try a different resort this time, but I don't want to end up not having anywhere to stay.

We are planning on going December 3-13. There are 4 of us.

For those who have stayed at SSR and other resorts, are the room layouts pretty much the same. WE stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom.

Sure! we do it when we want to try a different place but want the assurance we won't be shut out.

Most of the room layouts at the WDW DVC resorts are the same except for OKW. The square footage at OKW villas in most cases is substantially larger than the other resorts.

And yes absolutely you can switch. In fact I plan on trying to switch our resort next week.
