typically, how long after sending your documents back into dvc do you get notified that you have been approved...we sent ours back on wednesday and were informed that they received them...just wondering how long the approval process normally takes....
thanx in advance....

We were never notified. I don't believe they actually have a notification process. For the most part approved, if you are not they tell you that you need a larger downpayment, I don't think there is any notification of approval. Maybe this has changed, but I don't think so. Basically, everyone gets approved, we have only heard rare instances of larger downpayments being requested.

Sunking - I wanted to be "preapproved" for our purcahse in case hubby likes Hilton Head when we visit in two weeks. I didn't want to waste any time biting my nails waiting for an answer so we faxed our application to our guide on Tuesday afternoon and he called me Wednesday afternoon to tell me we were approved. It was that simply. Just thought I'd share my experience with you.

SUNKING, no explanation was required,I understood SUN KING, just having a little fun. Part of the fun of this board is figuring out what people are saying with their handles.

You can imagine the grief I've taken for my name and the fact that I'M A GUY!! :)

no...i did not take it as anyone trying to be mean or question me...actually, quite the opposite...my wife and i had a good chuckle over it...sorry if i sounded like i was offended...

can you imagine the grief that i have taken over the last couple of years with my license plate that reads "sunking"...i get "what does that mean" or "don't you mean sunken or sinking"...

laughing with all of you....

sunking,

I sent in my documents on 11/16, got my financing approval letter on 11/26, and my closing date is 12/13. I was kinda surprised at how quickly they turned all the paperwork around.

BTW, can anyone tell me when I should expect my membership card?

Thx,
Lynne

Actually, Granny is a nickname I've had since I was a kid. I thought about coming up with a new one for this board, but I think I'll wait until I really get some folks mad at me with my postings and then come back under a new identity.:D
