We (myself, DH & DD) would like to vist DLRP on our way from London to Paris in June 2007. We are interested in the Disneyland Hotel or Newport Bay Hotel. Is there anything we should be aware of before calling Member Services to make a reservation? Which hotel would you recommend? We have 2 contracts one with a March UY and the other with a September UY. Both contracts have enough points for our stay. Which would you use?

Any advice is appreciated!

I haven't ben there myself, but have some friends who have. Newport Bay is huge and relatively far from the park, so it can mean a lot of walking (both in the hotel and to the parks). Disneyland Hotel is great, but of course you pay for it! Another choice might be New York, which is closer and not as expensive as DLH. Note too that the point values include not only your room, but admission to the parks.

The Disneyland Hotel is wonderful, but as MrShiny points out it costs you. I stayed there on December and the fact that you are at the park gate is just wonderful when the weather is cold! My room was beautiful. I loved it!

I also stayed at the Hotel New York. (I booked the Newport Bay and got a 'free upgrade' for reasons I don't understand, I don't speak enough French and the girl telling me didn't speak enough English LOL!) It was nice, but not as nice as a Deluxe at WDW.

We spent a week at the Hotel New York in April 2002 using points. Not only was park admission for our entire stay included, but also a fabulous buffet breakfast! Also, the characters often made appearances in the hotel lobby and spent ALOT of time with whomever was there at the time (adults and children). If I recall correctly, there was a little room where kids could watch TV and color (similar to SSR) and I saw Goofy in there playing with the kids on more than one occasion.

When you go, be sure to get a Nutella crepe - much better than the crepes at EPCOT. So yummy!!!
