2008 Goofy 40% Full!

I just heard that the 2008 Goofy has over 1200 apps in the last week which makes it 40% full. If planning to do it, better sign up before the end of the month or you might not get in.

That half or full don't typically full up until the summer. Believe me, there will be posts like crazy when they are close to capacity.

I don't have % for them yet but expect the Full to fill really this year also due to the 15th Ann. They are hyping the "Top Secret" finishers medal that won't be scene until the finish on race day.

Chad saw the Goofy was 40% full online today too. He is in panic mode. We were going to wait to register until I had the 'ebay funds' available for his registration. But I think I am going to come up with the cash somehow now & mail his application in tomorrow - have to save a couple bucks with the DVC discount, ya know! ;)

I thought for sure I'd do the full...

Now DS might do the half, so I'd want to be there with him to make sure a 15yo isn't alone...:worried:

But I really want to do the full, too...:confused:

So I figured I'd register for both and play it by ear...:idea:

But if I complete both, I might as well get credit for being Goofy and register as Goofy...:goodvibes

But if I register as Goofy then don't do both, I'm taking a Goofy spot from someone else...:guilty:

After gaining yours and Paul's wise advise Susan and I decided to do the Full for 2008 and leave the Goofy to another year if ever LOL Memories of wanting to take a nap in the MK instead of finishing the race are still going thru my head. :rotfl:

Hope to see you both in 2008! BTW, you both looked awfully nice with all 3 medals ;) I was happy to see a few Goofy's doing that and it really was a nice look but I imagine a bit hard on the necks.

Well, I won't be doing the Goofy challenge next year. I doubt I'll go to Florida next January. I am starting a carreer change as a teacher and probably won't be in a position to ask for the time off. Paul isn't keen on doing the Goofy challenge next year, but that is what he said last year so anything is possible. ;)

I do want to try to do the Disneyland Half this year though. It is Labor Day weekend, so I think it will be feasable for me.

That will great if you do DL this year and then you can let us know what changed for good or bad ;) We plan on going back but probably not till 2008 or 2009.

Bummer about you not being there in Jan but hey congrats on the coming the teaching job!!!

Can't wait to hear how DL goes this year. Your the first I've heard looking at going this year. All in all it was well done in 2006, I remember thinking that it seemed tougher than WDW now I'm rethinking that LOL That ramp after Mile 10 is a thorn in my side lol Though Jan 2006 that ramp didn't bother me as much as it did in 2007.

Ah well the DL course was nicely entertaining and one I can't wait to do again.

I just checked and the Goofy is now at 60% full!!!

It was at 50% on Friday. So anybody that is planning to do the Goofy in 08 better enter soon for a slot.

I just spoke to someone at the registration office, and they said that if you mailed it out last week, you shouldn't be in trouble. He said that it will probably not close until Friday. I hope that snail mail won't cost me a spot either!!!!!!!!!! Let's keep our fingers crossed!

I think they will have a hard time turning away CM or DVC apps because they got a late start due to them not having them available until after the online version was ready.

I will continue to push them to get as early as possible and put it on my website. I know some people are still waiting for them from DVC!

I don't think Disney really wants to give up the money. Why promote a discount when they can get people to pay full amount. I am sure they get a kickback also from Active.com on top of full fees. They also like to get all the info and fees electronically vs paper apps. More work and less money. Not Disney's favorite combo. Easier and more money is!

Hey ultra, you might want to update that header ;).

I hate registering for a 36 mile event while 31 weeks pregant the day after I utilized a scooter to get around Animal Kingdom....talk about GOOFY!!! It is GOOFY on crack!:rotfl: But 60%...that's scary!!!!

Anyway, my registration is in. And like the evil wife that I am, I registered hubby for the full just to get it out of the way. He's sick today (do NOT eat the Nachos in Mexico at EPCOT :sick: My sis' and bro' shared with him..and they all got sick while the rest of us are fine!). He agreed to participate previously....so it isn't like I have to twist his arm. ;)



So I am now a part of the group--who intends to be goofy. I am not sure how it will manifest. I am curious when training season comes around--what the WISH experts have done to prepare themselves for a back to back long run (or) days. I know some who did a simulation once a month--and others who work on it every other week. Just curious.

ummm..no...going goofy AFTER pregnant LOL!

Baby due March 24...by May 1st hopefully will start a walk/run program that by August is transitioned to a run/walk program. It will be an easy does it effort...no records for me.
