My disney habit is second only to my corrie habit. I've been watching ever since I can remember - around 1975. Who else remembers Uncle Albert?
And yes, I cried the night Mike died...thought they did that very well... with the three others that have been there with him the longest, Ken, Rita and Emily. Whenever family calls from Ireland they have to be reminded not to tell us what's going on - I hate that we're 11 mos behind!

Oh My God Yes!! Huge fan - absolutely love it. Fizz is coming to St. John's in February for a question and answer evening. I gave my mom and my aunt tickets for Christmas. It will be a real girls nite out. My only wish is for CBC to bring it back to an hour a night like it was when they were on strike - we are starting to get really far behind now.
Funny - I was thinking about starting a thread like this to see what other disney fanatics were also corrie fanatics!!

;o( We weren't on strike - we were locked out. Big difference.
Write a letter to programming and ask for what you want. If enough people ask...

Big fan for almost 40 years (since I lived in Scotland).
I remember watching it in black and white with characters like Annie Walker,Elsie Tanner,Len Fairclough etc.
I have to admit that I am very weak and can't help myself when checking out the ITV website to look at the Video Previews for the UK viewers:rolleyes:
Actually we are not falling behind (as long as their are no lockouts) we see it Monday through Friday here and they see it Sunday,Monday (2 episodes),Wednesday and Friday.
I can tell you that a main character is murdered.
For those of you that have to know, go to this website.:goodvibes

Sorry scratch - you won't catch it this weekend. But you will catch the racket between Danny and the clan over the will - that's all I'll say!! I don't want to turn this into a spoiler thread. I work too hard not to read ahead!

I loved BET! Remember when she was running after Mike?
I cried when Mike died too!
I know who is murdered? AND.....someone died on Christmas! I won't tell you who! My aunt in the UK calls my mum and tells her the updates, then I get them!
I watch nightly at 7pm CBC!

OMG!!! I used to watch a lot before I had my kids but now I do not have the time. However, just last week I tuned in for fun and Mike had died! Holy cow, I was freaking! Maybe you guys who have been watching can tell me what happened to Bette, Curly, Raquel, Liz and her clan(I saw her son Steve with a lot less hair!) and Martin. I still can't get over Martin and Gail breaking up, I think that was around 1998? How can a show touch so many people?

Hmmm...where to start! Bette, Curly and Raquel left (obviously!). Every now and then Bette shows up for the odd appearance but it's been a while. Liz is back, mutton dressed as lamb as my Mom would say, and Steve's Dad is still in the slammer. Martin and Gail broke up, he then had an affair with a school girl, who murdered her dad, then she died (the school girl), (and her mom is in jail for the murder of her Dad) and now Martin eventually ran off with someone else and is off the street for good. Phew!!

How did they write out the those characters? I remember Curly and Raquel were together and then Curly had a baby with someone and that is about all I remember . I think the last episode I saw with Bette, she and Rita had taken a trip to Spain or something ...anyone have more details?

Yep! Another huge Corrie fan here. I have been watching it for years. I also cried when Mike died but thought it was very well done. My favourites are Jack and Vera. They crack me up. I have ExpressVu so it's on starting at 6:00 for all the time zones in Canada so I can always catch it.

When I was in England last, I went to visit the Cadbury World Chocolate factory in Bourneville. They had a chocolate sculpture of the Coronation Street set.
When I get a chance I'll post the picture!
I love Coronation Street and read ahead on the www.itv.com website.

Richard is the man that Gail married who turned out to be a serial killer. He almost did away with Gail,David and Sarah and Bethany by driving their car into the river...Martin and Tommy (Craig's father) dove in and saved them. Richard killed Ashley's first wife Maxine when she returned home early.

MDW and I do not miss an episode. We just go back from WDW and we are all caught up only too 2 evenings.
I agree that we should get caught up with the UK. It really sucks when family come over and start spoiling what's going to happen.
Do you also remember when the NHL was on strike that we go 1hr every night.

Dear Holly,
Thank you for taking the time to write to the CBC about "Emmerdale" and “Coronation Street”.
"Emmerdale", as you know, is a British production for which CBC has in the past purchased broadcast rights. The decision has been made to reallocate these resources to other programming areas within the CBC, effective January 2007. In regards to “Coronation Street”, which is also a British production, the decision has been made to continue with the regular schedule until March 31, 2007. After April 1, 2007 we will be airing “Coronation Street” on a reduced schedule, twice weekly, until June 1, 2007, at which time “Coronation Street” will not be aired by the CBC. You may be able to get both programs through the BBC, if they, in fact, make arrangements with ITV in the UK.
We appreciate that these decisions are difficult for fans of the affected programs, particularly for dramatic serials like "Emmerdale" and “Coronation Street”. We did not reach these conclusions easily but did extensive market research which indicated that neither program really fit the CBC Canadian Programming Mandate and also that the majority of CBC viewers felt such foreign programs were not relevant to Canadians at this time. We would like to advise you that a Canadian serial, based on “Coronation Street” is in the works. This new program will be set in Canada but will have similar story lines as the original “Coronation Street” however it will be based on more Canadian lifestyles and values. It is a family friendly program, geared to ages 10-19, so it will not have the sometimes lurid, sexually graphic content of some foreign serials. We hope you and other serial fans will view the upcoming “Totem Street” and enjoy its Canadian setting. Please be assured that your comments will be logged for inclusion in a weekly report that is circulated among all senior executives, producers and programmers at CBC, including the President and CEO, Robert Rabinovitch.
Please don't hesitate to contact CBC Audience Relations should you have any further questions or comments. You may reach us toll-free at 1-866-336-4436 during regular business hours, or by email through the CONTACT US link on CBC.ca.
Sincerely,

Had to call them to find out! It's a cruel hoax circulating the corrie boards. :scared: Deep breath...relax....:grouphug:
This is why I don't read the corrie boards - too many spoilers and info I don't need to know. I watch my corrie and find out things on a need to know basis only...works for me! :happytv:
BTW - I think Nick came back from Canada and is living in London or another city far enough away from his Mum. Can you blame him?!
