New to DVC!!!!

Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to drop in say hello! DH and I returned from WDW last week and while we were there...we became DVCers!!! We own another time share (which we'll be selling!) and ..long story short....after a second "bad exchange" experience, we went to CBR late at night and they got us a room (AP rate!) for 6 nights! The next day we sought out a DVC booth and 2 days later we signed our papers! I just got our final "approval" in the mail today!! I'm sure, as it all sinks in and we get ready to play with our points, I'll be asking many ????s:jester:

Glad you had a great trip to the World. As another SoCal DVCer you will not regret being a member of DVC. I only wish Disney had a DVC property in Anaheim. Oh well, you can't have everything. looking forward to seeing you in the park soon and hearing more about your purchase. How many points etc...

I will be on the Disney Magic cruise over new years. And yes I paid with points!

Hi and welcome home. I am curious, where did you have your bad experiences with your timeshare exhanges and where do you own? I also own anothe timeshare besides DVC and like to know what resorts to avoid so your info would be helpful. Thank you. John

Larry!~ It has been a while! Are you going to DL On Sun? A few people will be there. We're going to try to go in the evening! I'll also be there on Tues. with my Mom. Hope to see you again soon so we can chat!

john23tc~ We own at Lake Travis in Texas (never been there). We have usually had luck exchanging into a Marriott but the 2 times we didn't....yuck!! One was the Blue Tree Resort ~ hideous (cockroaches, incessant fire alarms & which I've heard is now bankrupt). This time it was the Parkway International Resort. Our room was practically on the 192 :mad: The place was practically empty and they wouldn't switch our room. It was just really tacky. One lamp had no bulb and one of the light fixtures in the bathroom was broken~just a gaping hole~ very nice. Our bldg. was right next to a strip mall parking lot with just a chain between. etc., etc.,...tip of the ice berg. Anyway, it was worth it to fork out the $580 to stay at CBR, if only for the nice landscaped grounds and at little sense of security. If you have any more ??, feel free!
