2008 Disney Half Marathon Runners...

I'm really thinking about doing this next year. There are 367 days until the race.

I'm thinking I might do the 5K a couple of days before.

I'm also thinking that it might make a fun solo trip.

I've been trying to decide what to do. I have been so inspired by all the runners here. I do think I will do the 5K in May during the Minnie Marathon weekend. I will see how that goes. Don't know if I could be ready to do a big race in just 12 months, but maybe the 2008 Minnie I could do. I'd love to get a medal and can't imagine how great it must feel to cross the finish line.

I must say though. Having a goal to work toward -- rather than just losing weight -- has helped me stay motivated to exercise.

We'll see how it works out. Anyone else?

I have my marathon and my daughters Goofy registrations ready to mail.

It is an awesome weekend. I did the half in 2006 but had to sit out this year due to surgery.

John Bingham's Marathoning for Mortals has some great 20 week programs which will get you ready. Spend the time to the actual training "training to train".

I was a casual walker before deciding to do the half in 2006 and didn't really concentrate on training until 20 weeks out and finished in 3:24.

I'm in. After reading all the great stories from this year I decided to do the half. No interest in doing a full :)

I am also signed up for the 10K Race for the Taste (think it is called) in October. The beauty of the 10K is that most of it is through the parks where as in the half, there is a lot of open space running down the roads. Whish they'd just run the 10K course twice.

I'm hoping I can get there! I do want to run the 1/2, but I have to find out if financially WDW is the place for me to do it. I'm jealous of you guys in Florida for that reason!!

I did the 1/2 in 2003 and the full in 2005. It was so hot that year - I swore I would never do it again and cursed myself to the finish line. I'm thinking of doing the full b/c someone told me there will be a special commerative medal for the 15 year anniversary . . . I'll do anything for a cute medal!
