Do you remember the Sweet Pickles books??

I was in my school's library today, and the librarian had placed a box of old books in the work room for us to look through and take. I found one of the old Sweet Pickles books...it was the one about Unique Unicorn. Boy, did that take me back! I used to love these books as a kid...Loving Lion and Zany Zebra were my two favorites...I also really liked Enormous Elephant...I remember staring at that map at the back of the books for what seemed like hours, imagining the town. I loved them!

I guess now I am on a quest to find the other 25 books in the series. Maybe ebay or amazon will have them. Or maybe a kindly Disser...one never knows! :thumbsup2

I don't remember the commercial, but I do remember getting them in the mail. Probably what really got me to learn to read was how much I loved those books!

My DSis and I loved these books! She came across some a few years ago and has slowly been purchasing them off ebay as ones in decent condition become available. Sometimes a good deal will come up, but she's seen a few auctions get outrageous.

I don't remember anything about the individual books, and I can just barely remember the theme song. The main thing I remember is that there was a VW bus called the Sweet Pickles-mobile. It may have been green (lime?). I know that in my family we still sometimes refer to VW buses as "Sweet Pickles-mobiles".

Boy do I remember them...... in fact we still have them and my 8yo reads them to me all the time..... LOL.

We loved those books! I think my Dsis has the few that our family owned, but I also remember checking them out of the school library and wanting to read them all in alphabetical order. :lmao:

I haven't seen one in years, but I do remember Worried Walrus.

I did love those books and I can remember imagining the town for hours too! They are great books I hope someday my children will enjoy them as much as I did.

I had a Sweet Pickles bus that I kept all my Sweet Pickles books in! I just did a Google image search and seeing those covers just brings them all back! Those were great stories.

I was crushed when my mom donated them to the local library. In fact, I just realized I'm still mad about that. :mad: Maybe I'll have to start collecting them again.
