we bought a bunch of steak -- now I need to freeze it and I'd like it to last as long as possible.

Can someone tell me how to wrap it (in what) and how to freeze it so it will stay nice for hte longest time?

thanks

We've bought steak before left over from Steak BBQ's and they put it in a ziploc bag, squish out the air, and freeze. We put 2 in a bag so we can grab what we need. Never had a problem before, no freezer tastes... You could also marinate them or rub them with a meat rub before you freeze them, we've done that too. Good luck!

I have found that the new Glad Press and Seal for the freezer works really well and you don't have to worry about having to press out the air like you do with a freezer bag. Although nothing stays in my freezer long enough to get freezer burn. :lmao:

Shrink-wrapping works best, but as others have said freezer bak well emptied of air is OK. Lakeland Ltd used to do a vacuum pump to pull the air out, but I think they discontinued it.

The Glad Press and Seal works very much like a vacuum seal, without the expensive machine.
