I have been dreaming of Disney...and so have the kids. I am willing to forgo an anniversary trip to go back to Disney. Pathetic, I know! There are specials thru the airlines right now and if they came out with a good discount/package. I think it would not take much to talk DH into. He is always ready for a vacation in the spring after a NY winter...even though it has been mild. I hope this coming news will be enticing enough $$$:cheer2: I am getting so excited thinking of the possibility. I hope it isn't for naught.

If I had my wish -

May would be included in this deal and it would be for the following:

Free upgrade of tickets to include no expiration (adults & children)

$125 off rate for deluxes - including DVC resorts and the home-away-from-home resorts and cabins
$55 off moderates
$40 off values

Pay full price for tickets for two adults - get one free child's admission (wouldn't that rock!!)

Buy park hopping and get your choice of either free water parks and a miniature golf round or non-expiration.

I can dream......

But cannot wait to see what happens when it is released. I just hope it is something really sort of NEW and not the same old thing. I think Disney needs to start stirring the pot a little more with their specials. The last two years have seemed to be just about the "normal" discounts.

The AP email I received about the AP discounts suggested that a similar discount would be released to the general public after the APholders got a first crack at it. That was only for 2/15-3/30, though. I hope this is something better.

Don't get these folks excited like that. This is what the last passholder message said: (and it says this on every email I've received when an AP discounts has been released.)

"Important Details
Additional per-adult charges apply for more than two adults per room. No group rates or other discounts apply. Advance reservations required. Proof of valid adult Passholder ID required at check-in. Offer will also be made to certain non-Passholders in other select promotions.

Entertainment subject to change without notice. "

It always says that even when GP codes have NOT come out. This could mean discounts to Florida residents (which came out a couple of days after this discount was released) and Pin discounts. It does not say for the general public. Just wanted to make sure folks knew this.

I was home at noon, and I caught a commercial and it said to log onto WDW New website and book your next vacation. I have never seen a commercial telling you to book your next vacation from the their website. I know on Mouseears, Deb has something today about the website being redone. I received an e-mail a month ago, telling me the site would be down periodically and to watch for changes.

I really would rather have a room only code. I can get tickets from a discount ticket center, eat breakfast and one meal in the room with one meal at the park, and my vacation becomes alot more affordable! Not to mention all the regulations that come with packages. I worry about the influx of crowds as well. This will be the first time I'm going during a busy time. Can't take DS out of high school.

I know it's hard to be patient, but details cannot be shared until the "go ahead" comes as no one wants to give information that they were specifically asked NOT to do.

I will hint that some of what has been posted could be true--and it will likely be a package offer, not a room only offer. (am I clear as mud?) :rotfl2:

Seriously though, something seems to be coming and coming soon--watch the DIS Discounts page for updates as all details will appear there as soon as they can be released. Nothing is official YET.

I was just looking at the weatherchannel.com for Orlando for our upcoming Jan/Feb trip and saw a new ad that I have not seen before. It has pinochio and says:

6nights/7 days at a select disney value resort $561 per adul. double occupancy includes theme park tickets and upgrades. For a standard room most nights 4/15-6/02/07 book by february 18. There is a link to click, but it will not open on my computer:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/special/promo/genericPromoLanding?id=Q307OfferPage&CMP=BAC-WDWQ3AFY07Dom1010

Just saw another mickey one this time on Weather Channel and it talked about the free ticket upgrade offer. It is the same offer as the pinnochio. If you don't get the disney offer just keep refreshing it and it will come up, you can see the details.

I am assuming this is new, but I may be mistaken and it is not.

BUT, :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 . That offer is not exactly worth the number of pages on this post. I suppose if you already had a full price package, it will save, potentially, what, < than $100 p/person on tickets over the course of the trip, but aren't you paying full rack on the room? I dunno, doesn't seem like much of a "deal" to me, then again--I'm not a fan of packages anyway. . . :snooty:

Still, I suppose if you have no discount, then this is better than nothing. . .

I called first thing this morning to get a quote and you are paying rack rate + basic ticket price and getting park hoppers and water, fun and more for free. The dining code is that with the regular dining price added in. It wasn't enough for us to make a trip down there. We don't do the water parks anyway, so we would just be saving the price of the park hoppers. So I am still hoping for free dining to disney visa holders or the public and if we don't get that--I'll be renting points for the week before Christmas and enjoying my first disney during christmas...(really looking forward to that!!!)

Thanks for giving us a heads up--it was exciting--maybe it'll work out for me next time!!!:thumbsup2

A few questions.

I have a package plus dining booked through AAA. Can I have my AAA agent apply this discount or do I need to rebook through WDW?

Is this just for Value? I have POFQ booked for 7 days 6 nights.

I can not find this deal on Disneys site at all. Where is it?

Can I book this online using the ZFC code?

Sorry for all the questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated :goodvibes

You will have to have AAA see what your rate will be, if you booked with a AAA package rate you may have saved money already. I have never found AAA to be on top of things, so I would call them and give them the code and tell her you want to know what the rate would be.

beth_cam
01-11-2007, 06:45 AM
The deal is up on mousesavers.com now. The "savings" (I put that in quotes because it isn't a savings if like me you weren't going to purchase those upgrades anyway) on the tickets is 101 per person. and as has been in the past there is also a discount on the room.

When I did the calculations with the similar deal the last time it came out to costing me $50 more than the aaa pricing but for that 50 more you got the ticket upgrades.

was running numbers and this doesnt seem to be the case though...showed about 380 total savings with a typical 2a 1j 1c package. I put that in wrong but It does look like close to 100 per person.

Is it me, or is it a little early for codes up to June 2? I am going in May this year and I usually go 2nd week of June. I normally wouldn't be looking for any kind of code until March. Surely this new package is not all that will be offered. :confused3 I booked the Poly last night ("room only" AAA rate May 16-26) and I asked about AP codes and the woman said not for a few weeks (which I figured). So even though I am getting hoppers with waterparks, I believe I will do better with an AP code.

yes to Marie. BUT that is just sample pricing same kind of deals are available at different resorts categories and with different party size/ages

The Lilly- all people on reservation must have the same ticketing. You can get one day tickets and upgrade as needed when you are there. Supposedly the one day tickets can be used to renew your ap. No personal experience but telling you the talk of the boards.

Well, I got it for $20 less than my AAA agent quoted me. With the waterparks and more added. I could not get French Quarter- only Riverside. I did not book. I called my AAA agent and left a message on his voice mail with the code to use and to call me back with the price he could get. I don' want to stay at POR (too big). I hope he can beat the disney price or at least match it. We were going to buy a few days of water parks and more for my 2 teens, so this is actually going to save me money.

This worked for me. We had a base package with dining booked. I only booked the base ticket hoping for the hopping for free. So it saved me the $166 it would have cost for hoping, we got the water parks and more for free and my package went down by $101. We booked 9 nights at Pop. I also had a reservation for DS and DIL for 5 nights of that trip. They saved $56. We've never done the water parks, Pleasure Island and most haven't done Disney Quest. I'm excited about all the new things we'll get to do.

I am not sure if this would be such a great deal for a Passholder....I am not sure where to start a thread though, resort board or dining board?

If AP/FL codes come out...and based on 07 rack rates and 06 $ off....
taxes included
value 7 night = $586.74
mod 7 night = $984.41
del 7 night = $1299.41-1496.25....I guess I would need to see if we would eat $1k worth of food on the trip.

I just got an email from AAA agent and she said that if I got the package I couldn't get the AAA room rate, which makes sense to me because you can't combine discounts. So for me, since I don't really plan on hopping or going to water parks, this code doesn't really help .

I also booked 3 rooms last week with the AP discount by agreeing to purchase the AP. Can I cancel the AP if something else comes out?

Did you already purchase the AP, or get the AP rate, knowing you'd purchase one before your stay ?

I believe you have to show the AP voucher or an activated AP at check-in to actually receive the discounted room rate. SO, if you don't buy one, you just won't get the discount.

Now....if you've already purchased your AP, I'm not sure how that would work, but I don't think that WDW would let you "downgrade" your pass. Someone can correct me if this is incorrect.

As I'm typing this, the new discount is released. For me, it doesn't beat the AP rate and the difference I'll get in the room discount at peak season. So I'm staying with what I have !

But could your agent get you what WDW can for the package? I mean, not give you the AAA discount, but still apply the MYW plus WP and more to your existing ressie for the same price WDW is charging with the code? so I could get a 7 day hopper, without the price changing on the package?

I am confused.

No the price would increase to the difference in price between a 1 day ticket & 7 day base ticket.

If your the only AP holder & decide to go with this deal, I would get the 10day passes & add the no expiration to the rest of your family when you get there. Keep your pass until your AP expires and apply the credit to the new one. You go often enough that it would be worth it.

But could your agent get you what WDW can for the package? I mean, not give you the AAA discount, but still apply the MYW plus WP and more to your existing ressie for the same price WDW is charging with the code? I ask because I want to keep my POFQ but WDW said there is nothing left there for my time frame :confused3 She (wdw) said she can't touch any ressies made through AAA. I am so darned confused.

Yes she can get the package, but then I wouldn't get the discount on the room part. Since we don't hop or go to waterparks, it doesn't really pay for us to get the package, because then I would have to basically pay an extra 167 dollars which was my discount on the room just to get the free hoppers and water parks. Does that make sense.

This is great for us...just means that instead of waiting for the possibility of free dining in August, we are going in May instead...virtually the same savings for us, as we always get the Park hopper and water park option. Works out well for me!!!! Thank you WDW!!!

It does make sense :thumbsup2 See, we were going to buy a few days of waterparks and more for my teens when we got to WDW. With this new plan, its $20 cheaper through Disney than my AAA (which was $148 less than Disney with 7 day PH and dining) but it gives us the waterparks now. AAA got a room discount, but Disney gets me a 7 day base rate ( saving me $$ from parkhoppers I purchased through AAA) and I get the waterparks. I hope that isn't as confusing as it sounds.
I just want my AAA agent to give me the same price as Disney with the room already reserved because POFQ is booked according to Disney. Understand? :confused3

Iyiyi

I'm waiting to hear back from my AAA agent.

I think that is what we'll do...I mean we have the DDE as well so 20% off most TS restaurants anyway...

ETA: also, if I wait and book on the phone for AP rates, no harsh cancellation and no paying 45 days before travel either.

Ok so hear is my deal.... I think my AAA agent thinks I am crazy!!! I called her this AM with this new info, she was unable to get me this deal. I don't know why. Anyway, I called Disney for a price check and I can get the same thing I have booked now with AAA which is 6 nights a POR with MYW plus dining and the ticket upgrade for $4 less than my current package with AAA which does not include my ticket upgrade. So what should I do? Cancel with AAA and rebook with disney? I love planning and DIS, but now I am going nuts!!!:rotfl2: No really I think I am going nuts

For you it seems to make sense. While the savings is nominal, if your figures are accurate, you will enjoy the park hopping and water parks (and more) that you would not have been able to use w/o the package (if I'm understanding your AAA booking correctly).

I would ask her again. She can not give the AAA room discount and this WDW upgrade, but she can certainly switch it over. I am saving $20 with the upgrade package compared to my AAA ressie and I am getting the water parks now :thumbsup2 I don't get the $25 disney gift card though, which is okay with me. Call her again, or call and ask for a different agent :)

UPDATE:
My AAA agent got everything switched over for me and I DO get the $25 disney gift card to boot. I am soooo happy. This saved us some major money.

Not worth it to me unless I was staying at a value. If I renew my AP an they release AP discounts for May I will be better off with that assuming the discount is 75-100 off deluxes, even buying the hoppers for the rest of my family. It's about a break even for a moderate and given the choice I will renew my AP. We don't typically do water parks so I didn't include that in my analysis.

Maybe I'm not with it yet this morning...
Here's a for instance... (Just dreaming, no way DH would let me go without him and DS! lol)
Me & DD 4 (for her 5th birthday) for the minimum 3 nights at say POFQ. No dining plan necessary. What are the ticket options?

You are simply receiving the park hopping and water park options without additional cost. So, if you were only purchasing a "base ticket", the least costly option, you would not be paying the $45 and $50 fees associated with the add ons, i.e., park hopping and water parks, etc. Someone else said there was also a "discount" on the room rate, but I do not have the figures to prove the statement since this is not a time frame or package of interest to me and I've done no actual "research" w/Disney.

Even though its not the exact deal I was hoping for, I booked at 7am this morning. Ok so here is what I did, I called my AAA agent back and she called Disney again (she said they were very overwhelmed and actually yelled at her). Any way, my previous package was for 6 nights at POR with MYW dining and park hopping through AAA for $2539.36. She rebooked for me for 6 nights at POR with MYW plus dinning and park hopping with water parks for $2534.00. So for $5 less I got water parks included. Not bad. I would imagine so.

You can always add the non-expiration option once you get there. I don't see any advantage (personally) to pay up-front for this cost. Now if Disney had a discount to do it in advance I would but it cost the exact same thing if you pay for it prior to going to Disney or when you arrive.

We aren't going to go for 16 days at one time. At least not for several years. lol. We tend to go for just a few days at a time and not necessarly in the same 1 year time. A 10 day non-expiring ticket with water parks & more gives us 16 days of playtime at a rate that is cheaper than buying the tickets in smaller amounts at the time we use them. Does this make sense?

I understand that - what I was saying though - it usually costs approximately 150 extra to add the non-expiring option to a ticket. It is not discounted in any way shape or form if it is done in advance when you purchase your package. So to me - why pay for something that far in advance when you don't get any sort of discount. Keep the money for a little while and pay it at guest services upon arrival to convert your tickets from expiring to non-expiring.

I think you can purchase the whole 10 day option with just a minimum of 3 days and get all the extra upgrades. I made a ressie for just 4 nights but purchased the 7 day option for the upgrades. I'll get the non-expiring option upon arrival and then on our next trip just increase the days to 10.

I dont know if it's new and not sure it applies but I saw something recently about not being able to upgrade partially used tickets after 14 days of the first use even if you have non expiration. Just thought I'd pass it on so that you can check it out so if it does apply you dont get there on the next trip to get told you can't add days.

Well someone said they thought you got a bit of a room discount with this new code, but apparently you don't. I just called to pay on my Sept 29th-Oct 7th trip (Bounce Back free dining:cool1: ). I used the phone option of 'upgrading your reservation'. Anyway after I paid on it, I asked him about the new ZEY code, room discounts, and if an AP code was coming out. For the AP code he laughed and said 'not yet, maybe soon'. He then said he would see what he could do and put me on hold for awhile. When he came back he said there was no way he could finagle a discount on the room. If he tried booking using just a one day MYW ticket the price was still $72.51 higher than a room only deal "at the moment". I went ahead and booked room only and am hoping for a AP discount. He did make an interesting comment that "when the AP discounts come out the price should go down around $300.00-$400.00". This is for a Value resort May 5th-13th, by the way. So maybe there is hope for an AP code yet!

I read that you did on mousesavers. and posted as such. but when I went back to look at it again later to rerun the numbers for another thread, the info on mousesavers had changed and no longer says so. It still says 400 for a family of 4 as the value of the ticket upgrades but if you go on disney site and look at a reservation, the difference is actually 332.

I was wondering if they would let you get the 10 day ticket on 3 nights and upgrade them to ph/wp&m for free, then make it all non-expire. It wouldn't be worth it if the free upgrades couldn't be non-expiring as well...

There are currently no AP discounts for June. The current AP discount runs through March 30, I believe. The current discount knocks $131 off deluxe resorts. This lowered my Poly GV from $449 (rack rate) to $318. I believe that the AP discounts are not the same each time they are offered; if they are even offered. Someone can correct me if that is wrong.

Mod's, std....7 nights, one day tocket $2128.08 with dining plan.
Deluxe, WL or AKL....7 nights, one day ticket $3112.00 with dining plan.

now to crunch the numbers....

Are you sure about the date? When I check the only codes are for $23.00 off values for check ins 1/1/07-2/14/07 and another code for $40.00 off values for check ins 2/15/07-3/30/07. I called CRO to pay on my Sept-Oct trip and had the CM to check for either a code in my profile, an upcoming AP code, or to see if the new ticket upgrade code would give any kind of room discount and was told no. He said AP codes for April-May have not been released yet. He even put me on hold to go see what he could find out about any kind of room code for that time period, but found nothing.
