We have several options in the Dallas area. Many meetings are held in churches. I noticed I could drive a little further to Addison to an actual "Weight Watchers" facility. What would be the difference? Do the little places, like churches, have all the latest offerings from Weight Watchers? I would really like to hear from someone who has attended both kinds of meetings. Thank you!

I attend meeting a a church hall., The offerings seem to match what I see being shown on-line. There is a table set up each week with WW items (water cups, cook-books, point books) and foods. We are weight on a scale that sets on teh florr with the display setting on the table facing the WW worker whoe writes it in oour books - thought others see you step on the scale they can not see the scale display - I can't even see it when I am weighed and have to read it off of my weight book.

My meeting is in a local sports facility meeting room. (not an official WW office) From what I can tell, they have everything the official places might--all the products, scale, props, signage, etc.

I would just go to whichever one is most convenient and has folks (members, leaders) you enjoy, or at least can tolerate, lol. You know, you don't have to go to the same one all the time, you can go to meetings anywhere, anytime. Why don't you try them both out alternating weeks for a month and then decide which one to stick with long-term? ;)

Although, the only thing I would possibly be concerned about is whether or not the church meeting was "churchy" at all. I would not be happy to have god or jesus mentioned during my WW meeting. but that's just a personal thing. I am sure that wouldn't be the case at the church meeting (WW probably has rules against it, in fact) but if a lot of church members frequented a particular meeting, you might find some of those issues coming up. I really doubt it though, I thought I would mention it.

I've been to a meeting in a church basement years ago, and I think they had everything the center has. I go to a center now which works out for me because I don't have the same day off and can't get to the same meeting every week. The center is nice and you can meet all different leaders and members at the different meetings. I definitely click more with some leaders than others. The WW members at the meetings all seem to be very nice and welcoming. Good luck.

I would say try them both out as it is my experience that the leader makes the meeting. I have a location (church) that is 5 min from my house, tried it a couple of times and did not like the leader (neither did my WW buddy). We went to another location 15 min or so away (another church) and we loved the leader so the extra drive was worth it for us. We also have a WW center 15-20 min away, but I haven't tried it, only to buy products when my meeting runs out. They both pretty much offer the same services, however, the products are a little less at our church location, but that doesn't bother me as I work near the center. To me the most important thing is connecting with a good leader.

Just wanted to add that the group at the church is smaller and we have gotten to know one another a bit so it is like an extended support group, which is really nice.

Hi there. I'm a WW receptionist. The only difference between a WW center location and an offsite (church, rec center, park district) location is the location. You get the same meeting. WW has offsite locations to be more convenient to people. Centers usually host many more meetings and times a week and they stay open between meetings when the meetings overlap. A meeting in a church will not be WW Jesus plan. Shop around and find a leader you are comfortable with as they all have different personalities and different ways of presenting the weekly topic. Best wishes!:thumbsup2
