For those who doesn't know, the Cinderella Castle Suite stay will start late january and a guest at a park or at the Downtown Disney® area will be selected randomly by early in the afternoon most days. The guest may take up to five members of their party for the stay, so for those worried that big families won't be able to participate, at least those up to 6 family members will be able to, so GOOD LUCK!!:goodvibes

I thought that I read they were giving it out in the morning. Oh well. I personally think that the prize should be given out in MK only, not DTD.

:) I would be SO happy to win this! :)

And I think I might be *almost* as happy to see someone win it, too. Not quite AS happy, but pretty darn happy for whoever stays there!

I just can't wait to hear about it...I'm sure there will be a winner from The Dis!

We'll be there in Feb. - but with only a 2-day trip we won't be spending any time in DD. :(

I think what was posted is "A guest at a park or DTD" So that would mean MK, Epcot, MGM, AK & DTD maybe even the water parks. Am I right?

Wow! This is so awesome! :cool1: DD will be there in February with her high school marching band and colorguard. It would be so cool to see who gets picked. Maybe I'll just hope that it is someone in their group! One in a million but it could happen. :wizard:

Are they going to do it every day? Because really, if it's like a hotel room (yeah, right!) they COULD do one every day...

That's a good question!

I think I read over 300 1 night stays-- so that would be about one every day. I have SO many questions about this-- I hope a DISer wins early so we can get the scoop! For instance, they would have to almost LOCK you in the castle, right? I mean, you can't just stroll around the park all night, can you (how cool would THAT be?) My DD(12!) is convinced that we will be picked in Feb-- during President's week, no less- when the parks are swarming with people. Oh well, if not us, I hope a fellow DISer gets to experience it, and tell us all about it....

Personally, I am not getting my hopes up. We were there last week and only saw the Dream Team twice and one of those times was backstage during a tour. We also did not see many dreams being given out at all.

Someone appears to have found photos of the suite.

I found this info about how is going to be:

"Yes, there will be TV. Yes, it looks as if the family will be shut in after the theme park closes for the night. And yes, a butler (known as a comte du cierge in old French), will be at their service."

Among other details:

Before dinner, the winning family will be escorted to the suite, regaled with the Cinderella story, and shown around the rooms. Disney will arrange transportation for them and their luggage from wherever they were.

They'll be taken to Cinderella's Royal Table Restaurant for dinner, where the actress in Cinderella character will meet with them.

After dinner, they'll go back upstairs to freshen up, then be escorted to the "Wishes" show or other evening Disney entertainment.

In the morning, Cinderella will give them a wake-up call and check on them.

The 650-square-foot suite has a bedchamber, a bathroom and a parlor. The parlor has two sets of three windows: one overlooks Fantasyland; the other, Liberty Square.

Silvestri promised the rooms will be comfortable and luxurious, but not embarrassingly so. Designs call for an elevator inspired by Cinderella's carriage, a foyer with inlaid stone floors, wooden walls, a big stone (though faux) chateau-style fireplace, two big, soft beds and other pieces of faux period artwork and furniture. The princess' glass slippers will be on display.

The grotto-style bathroom will be dominated by three large, handmade mosaics of 17th-century landscapes, designed by Disney artists Katie Roser and Mary Hartwig to match the five 15-foot-tall mosaics that Dorothea Redmond created in 1971 for the castle breezeway.

A half-dozen Disney artists have been tediously selecting, cutting and gluing thousands of imported glass tiles for over a month to create the new mosaics. But given the tight castle conversion schedule they were all handed, that's hurrying, Roser said.

"We think they had over a year and a half to do the originals," she said. "We are in our fifth week, and we have one more week. I think that we've done something that some traditional mosaic artists would think we're crazy."

"But we're good at that," Silvestri insisted.

Those photos were beautiful! I 'm wondering though, what happens to the room the winners were originally staying at? Do they get a refund or just lose that night for the Cinderella suite?

I;m wondering what happens after the contest? will people be able to book it??

I would hope they don't ever have the room available to book because then it would be only for the Super Rich and Privileged, IMO it should stay as a giveaway and special prizes.

I'm just thinking about the logistics of this stay and I cannot figure out why they aren't choosing ONLY people who are currently registered guests at one of the on-site resorts. What if someone from Orlando is just at DTD for the afternoon? Or what if someone is spending a couple hours in the parks before they get on a plane to go home? What if they walk up to a group of people and they end up being part of a group of 20 people. Who decides who will stay in the room? I'm sure they have all these things figured out, but it just seems to me it would be easier to limit the prize. They could just choose a resort and room number and say the people who are staying in that room tonight will be moved to the suite. Pretty simple.
