Hello All ~ I want to pack extra light for our March trip. I have done laundry at WDW in the past....it's always so busy.

Has anyone successfully washed there nickers in the room?

Thanks! Sandra

I've not done it at Disney, but have done it on an extended trip to Europe. To be honest, I would have rather simply packed a few extra pairs, as it was a hassle to make sure all the soap was rinsed out and hanging them up to dry (not the easiest things to manage!). I guess I just don't feel like they take up that much extra room and would rather pack enough then try an wash them.

However, you can buy little travel sized laundry soaps or Woolite. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Austin-House-Travel-Laundry-Kit/dp/B0007XNP6Q would help if you really want to save the extra room.

You can wash them but they are unlikely to dry in Florida's humidity. Just pack extra.

nothing worse then damp knickers. :laundy: They don't take up that much room, I would just pack extras.

You could always pull a Britney Spears and just not carry any.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Undies don't really take up much room.....I would definitely go for packing more.

Depends on if they are cotton or nylon. The cotton ones take much longer to dry.

Personally, I always plan to do laundry mid-trip. Cuts way down on the amount you have to pack. I did two loads on my last trip (mid-day), and the washers and dryers were not busy at all. I think it was because most people were at the parks. I looked at it as a chance to take a break from the parks (it was kind of hot) and have some time by myself.

Another tip I've heard here before (never tried though) is to pack all your old holey undies that you want to throw out anyway, and toss them out as you go along. :rolleyes1 Makes for more room for souvies on the trip home!

i've posted this tip before -- but whenever I travel I buy those 3 packs of panties from the dollar store and toss them out after their first use (make sure you wash them before you take them on your trip tho. hehe). I love the NJ dollar stores -- They sell hanes (even low rise briefs and low rise thongs!)

I've herd to double up on the ammounts of underwear you take when you go to disney because its so hot and sweaty! So when you think about it, if you are staying for a week, thats 14 panties, that means it will only cost you about $5 for the convinience, and making sure you never have a sweaty backside! :thumbsup2

I swear by this tip!

I'd pack enough for the trip plus a couple extras. One T-shirt takes up the space of 14 knickers, so wouldn't it be easier to wash 1 t-shirt?? :) We had to do emergency laundry in the hotel bathtub on our honeymoon in Florida-my DH didn't pack enough clothes! So, it's not impossible, and it doesn't take forever to dry-there is an air conditioner to help with the humidity!

In an emergency, I wash and rinse my dirty underwear in the bathroom before going to bed. Wring it out as much as I can, then roll it up inside a dry towel and wring again so that towel absorbs most of the remaining moisture. If necessary, repeat with a second dry towel.

Underwear is now damp dry, and will be bone dry the following morning if left hanging on a towel rail overnight in an air-conditioned bathroom.

(I use Disney body lotion or hair shampoo if I haven't brought detergent)

I usually just bring extra underwear. It's the one item I often bring far too much of, but I would rather have too many undies than not enough and be faced with the prospect of becoming a commando princess or having to do laundry :p

I have always just handwashed my undies/bras in the sink and then just hung them on the clothes line in the bathroom (over the tub) at WDW resorts. I always bring the nylon type on the trip, they dry quicker, if you do it right before you leave in the am, by evening time, they will be dry and the maids do not bother them. Rinse them well, and like a previous poster said, wring them out in a towel.

Oh yeah--Britney getting out of a limo is one thing, but me, struggling to climb off of Space Mountain. . . no one needs to be subjected to that. I'd hate for anyone to end up with dining plan credits they were unable to use because of me.

I always just end up doing the laundry. But my MIL is an "underwear in the sink" kind of gal, and it seems to work just fine for her.
