Hello,

Due date is February 15th (that is when I need to receive your package.
Please mail packages out by February 9th with DELIVERY CONFIRMATION.
2 week check-in date will be BY FEBRUARY 1st!
I will wait be mailing them back out on February 21st. This is firm because this in the middle of basketball season for all 5 kids in our household so we are going to be busy!!

The "rules" –
1. Choose a group. There are two (2) to start with a third group will open if there is enough interest! One group will be Future World and one for World Showcase. For starters, please limit yourself to one group, so that everyone interested can swap. If I have extra slots, I will, of course, open them up.

2. Choose two elements for each slot you select – see the list below. Post your choices of elements. It will be fine if some of the elements duplicate within a group

3. PM me with your DIS name, name, home address, email address, and phone numbers. Email and phone numbers will only be used to follow up if I have not heard from you. Please PM me regardless of previous swaps since I don’t have numbers and emails. THANKS!

4. Post your weekly status on the Progress thread - which will be posted after the slots are filled.
You must check in 2 weeks prior to the due date. If I have not heard from you by then I will send you a pm or an email. I WILL ANGEL YOUR SPOT IF I DO NOT HEAR FROM YOU WITHIN TWO DAYS OF THE PM OR EMAIL.

5. Check the progress thread for your status - it will be updated with ship info and received info.

6. Packing Instructions - use a Ziploc for each person and put everything for that person into their bag. Please label each bag with your name so we know who made each element. You‘ll have 12 bags to enclose in the larger (gallon size) Ziploc bag for each group you are in - be sure to include your name, your DIS name and your group number. Include $4.05 for postage (or stamps if you don't want to send cash) to return your items. Delivery Confirmation is $0.50.
Please don’t send metered or click-it/ship-it postage – some hostesses have had issues with these.

7. PM me if you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.

8. There will be 12 people per group. There will be a total of 2 groups. (A third group of anything goes will open if enough interest)

I have to finish by task of updating my book for the basketball league.. for the past 3 meetings.. I just throw all the receipts/ papers together; now I have to organize it..
So, tomorrow.. I hope to get started on my elements!!! I have 3 swaps going on so I have to kick it in gear!!

Okay, I've redrawn my sketches..and now I'm templating and loving my Morocco theme!!! :) Now, let's hope I continue to like it as I finalize the touches.. if not.. it's back to step one!

I didn't do much today, but what I did manage to do was my topper for France. I did one completely, and cut out everything for the rest, but I am going to wait to put them together until after I get my new tape gun.

I'm making steady progress with this one. I finished my journal boxes tonight so all I have left are the tags. I'm a bit stuck on them. I have a couple ideas that haven't quite 'clicked.' I think I need to let them sit for a few days and see what happens.

I have to say they were more than nice about the problem...not too common she said, but not unheard of. She took the credit card number because I'm going to have 2 out at once, and I have 3 weeks to return the broken one, their cost for everything. I get a new machine, the whole kit, with a new font and everything...

FYI, she did say that they are going to start cracking down on having receipts soon, so everyone keep any Cricut receipt that you get. Now that there is a resale of used bugs, she said that they only replace for first owners within the first year.

I was doing so well. Really I was. But, I hated it! All of it! :rolleyes1 I think because I've been thinking about it for so long, I got an idea in my head that just not what I made. Argh! :eek:

So, to make a long, pathetic story short, I started over. :crazy2: My DD was sick all weekend and had a trip to the ER, but we are all recovered now. :scared: So, now I can go back to America. Boy, that sounds funny.

Oh no!! I bet it looks great!!! But if you are like me.. I'm majorly critical of my work.. I think I drive my kids and dh crazy criticing all of my elements! Which I must work on today... I must.. .I really must!

So, what happen to DD? Just a flu bug? I hope she is all better now... Hugs to her and you!!!

She has a condition that we need to be aware of an urinary infections and she was acting like she had one. :sick: We had to go to the ER for a test because she needs treatement right away so that she doesn't damage her kidneys or bladder. Lovely. And she's only 3.5! :sad2:

As it turns out, she recovered from whatever it was on her own and perked up a lot at the ER. It turned out ok, but it was an awful weekend. Not the way I wanted to spend the day after my birthday! :scared1:

I feel so bad for her. I can totally relate to her. I had major urinary tract problems as a child and was hospitalized twice over them, although I did outgrow them about the time I started puberty.

She has already been hospitalized once. The doctors are confident that she will outgrow it too. She takes an very lose dose antibiotic everyday to keep the infections at bay. So far, so good. :rolleyes1

That's what ahppened with me. My uroligist gave my mother packages of the sterile cups to have at home so I could pee in them and not miss school to go to the doctor's- she just dropped them off and they called the pharmacy with a different perscription or called the house to tell me to up my dosage to fight the infection.

I am sure you have been told that not taking baths (showers instead) and that cranberry juice helps. I also found that regular swimming in correctly chlorinated pools helped keep my away, as long as I didn't stay in the wet suit for more than a few minutes out of the water.

I will keep her in my prayers as I understand what she is going through.

We weren't told about baths, just not bubble baths. She has started to take showers, but she wants me with her! What fun! :) I never thought about the pool. We swam all summer with out any problems. Maybe that is why! Thanks! :)

Anyway, America is done. I want to mail it tomorrow. I hope we can make a trip to the Post Office! :cutie:

Yep, we were told bubble baths were out with DD..but she still takes a bath every once in a while.. I know DD grew out of hers by the time she was in first grade..boy did I worry about that though...

Girls and bubble baths are not a good idea anyway, but DD has a condition of reflux between her kidney and bladder that makes them off limits totally. She doesn't seem to miss them. :rolleyes:

I got my new tape gun today, put the France titles together and I'll put together the rest of the France stuff tomorrow, and one of my elements for the Land. Guess I better figure out what to do for the box/tag stuff now.

Boy, was I in the same boat. I ran out of tape. How did I let that happen? :confused3 Have some now and everything is planned. I just have to run everything through my handy-dandy craft-robo and put it together.

Okay, so you can't hear me singing - but I am done. I am kind of surprised I finished today, although that had been my goal, but I started a REALLY good book last night, and I just didn't put it down until I finished it. Fortunately I finished the book in time to finish the swap! :thumbsup2

I am going right now to put it in the envelope. Hopefully, it will make it to the post office tomorrow!

It was Julie Garwood's newest suspense thriller...Shadow Dance. She has written about six of these and they are all related through the characters. They are wonderful if you like those type of books.

I'm the same way with NCAA basketball! DH & I always do a bracket just for fun, and then we go on a date night, and the winner has to buy! I don't know what DH will do since we are going to WDW in March, and there will be basketball on!

Nancy, it's worse than you think. SIOH's DH, my DH and ME all have the internet capable phones. We have been known to stand in lines and all answer email's, post on the DIS, etc. Of course, that leaves poor SIOH out, but maybe she is really the only "normal" one of us all. :lmao:

I'm done!

It took me for forever to figure out what I wanted to do for the tag for the Land. I had sort of an idea of what I wanted to do, but couldn't get it to come together, but now that I wasn't distracted by, "I have to get DSIL's book done," I finally got it to come together.

Now I just hope the shaker boxes stick together. I had to glue them three times. I've learned that the ATG adhesive doesn't want to stick to the the spacer foam, so back to glue stick, and I used the elmer's craft bond glue pen to finally pin them into submission.

I will get everything packaged up today but they probably won't go out until February (I was just at the PO yesterday).

That's what got me into trouble with AWM's page kit swap. I didn't want to do typical. After staring at a ton of pictures from WS, I noticed that the Canada pavilion doesn't really use the white and Christmas red like the flag (which I didn't want to do). So my colors for Canada are based off the native people's influence (so teal, black, dk orange red). And once I figured that out, I was a lot happier.

So I recommend starring at pictures of the Mexico pavilion. Either your own, the DIS photo gallery, google search. Maybe something more "earthy" like the colors in the pyramid so instead green -> that teal patina...white ->beige/camel, red -> burnt orange and then distress it?

I almost never use the bright flag colors for my Epcot country elements. If I do use any of them, they're really muted or totally a different shade. I'd probably go with some earthy southwestern colors, possibly with an accent of fiesta colors if I needed to add more zip for Mexico. I also often follow the color scheme of the pavillions, or of something in the country's theming. Plus, I almost never use white.

She went home for about 20 minutes--her dear, sweet :rolleyes: mother followed her, bawling her eyes out about her poor baby. And then, she came back, and spent the evening rolling her eyes when the other girl did anything. My vision is horrible, so if I can SEE her rolling her eyes, we're in trouble. Which led to the other speech, "You will NOT run me off. You can quit first--that's up to you. But I better NOT see you roll your eyes and be disrespectful to anyone again." I am a BIG believer in the team before the individual, and I'm not sure they quite get that yet! ;) She informed me after the game that she would not be there tomorrow night b/c she had a gym meet--her mother had evidently told the woman I took over for that. Actually, I'm kind of relieved b/c it will be less drama tomorrow! ;)

OMG! Love that speech too.. I just had to give a speech to one of my own.. DD was shopping w/ me and DS6.. DS tells her w/ the 2nd shopping cart (yes, it took two to grocery shop this week we were completely out of everything) to go fast.. she proceeds (luckily down a empty aisle but me) start pushing the cart, jumped on and was zipping down the aisle! I was furious!:furious: So, I got her and the cart near me and reminder her that she was a student athlete and that she represents her team and our family on and off the court that she needed to be more careful and not act like that in public! To which she apologized and agreed it was not smart she could have got hurt and end her and brothers basketball season.. Thank you!! She got it! Of course when DH hears the story, I'm the bad mommy for running their fun! Hello, it would be different if it was a sled outside but hello, we were in a store! So, I have banned both of them from going w/ me for a while!
At least their is less drama for one night..

I got your package today!!! I haven't had a chance to take a peek but promise to do so tomorrow.. Homework has taken over today.. along w/ dr & eye appt, brace check for DD.. She took a whopper of a charge last night at her game.. she went splat on the floor.. I maintained my cool but did yell that she took a good hit now get up and get that ball back! LOL She got hacked several times..had 3 free shots..and she missed them.. boy if there wasn't this icky white stuff and horrible temps.. she'd be practicing her free throws!!!! Once good thing.. the brace check found no additional brackets lose and we fixed the one that fill off the other day!

Great! Glad you got them and like them. I woke up early and started getting worried about them blowing away if you weren't home when they were delivered. The wind was so strong here that it woke me up! I think the wind chills must be close to 40 below!

You weren't kidding.. however, I wasn't home but I was southwest of the house in the direction the wind was blowing so they would have gotten to me either way! :rotfl: The wind is still horrible..and we have to be up and out of the house by 6:30am for an 8am basketball game..and we aren't done til 5:00pm tomorrow night... just in time to run home get in the house and warm up the tv for the game!!!
Everything is gorgeous!!! ;) The kids were trying to claim them for their own!

I got your packages in today.. They are still warming up from the bitter cold before I open them!!!

Please remember the mail out date is this Friday, Feb. 9th or Saturday,
Feb. 10th to insure that we get them in time for the due date of Feb. 15th!!!

I am going to overnight mine on Monday- after a really crazy couple of weeks I had everything done and was packaging them up when 2 of my test track pieces got ruined. I don't have time to finish them again tonight before the post office closes and it is not open on Saturdays- beside one of the teachers on my team's husband died and the funeral is tommorrow so I couldn't get to it even if it was opened. I will remake them over the weekend and mail on Monday.

Mine went today. My elements changed b/c the topper wasn't doing what I wanted. It's not as great as I'd hoped, but I like what I did --- especially the tags. Regardless . . . . so I sent Nancy my routing # just in case.

Tiggermei ~Changes are good!!! When one thing doesn't work.. I change it too!!! NO worries!!! I actually am in the process of changing my topper for Morocco because I didn't like the first one it set down for 2 weeks but I wasn't happy with it!.. So, by Monday or Tuesday I should have it done..

FYI, we have a crazy forecast of weather coming in for the first of the week.. it's still a little too early to track but things might be delayed either arriving or leaving my home... Last night they said ... we could either get a heavy band of double digit white fluffy stuff or an ice storm... so, bare with me.. I'll keep everyone updated as we go... Good thing I stocked up on groceries this week..and depending upon what is said tonight.. I may run out a get a few more essentials!!!

They are saying we are going to get some too...Maybe 6" or so... Supposed to start Monday afternoon. I have been scrambling to change my classes for Tuesday because of it... Shame too, because it is a Valentine's necklace, and it just wont mean the same on Thursday...ya know....

Anyway, I'm still posting mine tomorrow (then going to the store for some food and snacks), and hope that they will get to you on time. I got a brainstorm at work last night, and now have to remake my Universe of Energy tags...:teeth:...just can't leave well enough alone... Sheesh...but in my mind these will look better, at least I hope they will....

Nancy, didn't you get any white stuff last night? We got 4 1/2 inches from a northern storm. It's still drifiting. I guess it didn't get that far south. We're supposed to get 3 to 6 inches tonight and tomorrow from another storm.

I think after this next one, we can call it a winter!!:sad2:

:rotfl2: TV is an essential part of life you know. ;) At least around here it is. That reminds me, I need some gas for our generator too. And propane for the heater.

Nope! Nothing! Your system from last night wasn't expected to hit us... nothing has happened yet here..but let me tell ya, it's so calm it's scary! WE just got home from our basketball game (I need some more money to buy a whistle or two for some referees.. I behaved but boy were they lousy!)...They said on the radio.. 6-12 inches still..and possible ice...and suppose to have the 6 inches by morning... :confused3

Yep, our neighbor has his extra generator ready for us too.. He is soo good to us.. he takes care of his house and than comes over and sets us up.. so we are good to go too!

DDavis your package arrived safely.. It was hand delivered to me in my drive way while I was shoveling sn** that the darn plow driver put right back in the drive I had just shoveled out.. I was still giving him an earful as he drove off and the mailman drove up! My mailman thinks I'm a hoot! :rotfl2:

Okay, deadline is tomorrow..we are still awaiting two packages... so things are looking good for an on time return!!! Well, as close to it with the weather!

Did you send with the USPS? DC is Delivery Confirmation.

Though it sometimes gets scanned in transit, it is only required to be scanned upon delivery to it's final destination.

Glad you liked them- I thought they turned out pretty well. The car was the first paper piecing I have ever designed from sratch so it took a bit of doing to get it right.

Your goodies arrived today at 10:00am.. so I will divide things out tonight..and get them packaged and ready to mail out on Tuesday!!!
Now, off to find some kid that parked at the end of our drive.. I understand the sn** banks are a pain..but you had to notice that you blocked our drive! I had to go out and literally direct DH so that we could get our vehicle out and park it at the neighbors.. and where we believe this kid is at... their driveway is clear... they could park 5 cars in it... (yes, Buffy, it's the same jerk from earlier this week)

Jack up his car and take his tires!!! I'm telling you it works like a charm.

Or fall on the ice and call the cops cause you can't get out of the driveway.
Nah, jack his car and pretend you have no idea what happened. I'm being Maria tonight! LOL
