I have actually tried, unsuccessfully, on several occasions in the past 6 weeks to register on Dismates but there have been technical problems with the registration pages. I'll keep trying :confused3

By the way, my quick bio: 31, SAF, Canadian (living in Toronto), federal public servant. Making my first Disney trip on January 15 :cheer2:

Hi! I'm a single 24 year old teacher in the Chicago burbs. The kids laugh when I use Disney referrences to support examples; hey, if I can work in how the Haunted Mansion is representative of Gothic architecture and this is different than Gothic writing, I have fulfilled my Disney moment for the day! All cheese aside, if you'd like to maybe talk shoot me a pm!

I can't get into dismates either. I can get to the chat but that's all. The site won't send me an authorization code.

How about some fun questions to get to know each other better. . .

1) Which park is your favorite? for me it's a close to call between MK and Epcot.

2) Which is your least favorite park? Animal Kingdom. . .it's always either too hot or too cold

3) What is your favorite ride? close call again it's Peter Pan, Splash Mountain and Spaceship earth

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? Tower of Terror (but I ended up getting on it again anyone! lol

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay. We have gone for the past 2 years Thanksgiving week but I'd LOVE to go one one of those first couple of weeks of December--Contemporary

Anyone else got some more interesting questions?

2) Which is your least favorite park? I enjoy them all.

Hi,

Think I'll pop in here too. Like I posted previously, I'm a 43 yo swm from Voorhees, NJ which isn't near anyone else on this board (except maybe JLPooh, and she's an hour away by car). I'm a customer service representative for the Internal Revenue Service. My favorite park is MK but a close second is probably Epcot (because of World Showcase). My least favorite park is Animal Kingdom--it didn't help that on Friday, December 8, 2006 it was colder there than in New Jersey.

Favorite rides:

MK: Pirates of the Caribbean, Adventureland
Epcot: Spaceship Earth, Future World
MGM: Rock n Roller Coaster, Sunset Blvd
AK: Expedition Everest, Asia

Ride I won't go on again: Primeval Whirl in AK Dinoland. Made me dizzy and almost want to pray to the porcelain gods.

Love early December, for MouseFest. Though I want to stay in every on-property resort (except the Polynesian, which is too dark), my favorite is the Wilderness Lodge.

Love Flame Tree BBQ in AK; Boatwright's Dining Hall in POR for sweet potato pancakes; LeCellier in Epcot World Showcase Canada.

Favorite park: Epcot by a hair. I love learning in Future World and strolling around World Showcase shopping and feeling immersed in the culture. So excited for the Med. cruise this summer! :-)

Favorite place to eat: Breakfast - 1900 Park Fare is cute; Lunch - Beaches and Cream mm!; Dinner - Cape May because I miss my New England seafood since moving so it is a tasty reminder!

I'm 30, DWF with a 5 year old DD. I've been working in IT for about 5 years and I'm going to school on the side and have nearly completed my BA in English Literature. Planning on grad school next, and hopefully a career change!

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? None, but I can't think of a whole bunch that I didn't have the guts to get on at all!

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? I love summer in Florida - love that southern heat and humidity! Don't have a favorite place to stay yet. This year we're doing WL and the Poly, so maybe we'll find a fave after all!

WF, if you can do the math you can figure my age from my name, living in GA for almost ten years now.

Which park is your favorite? Depends on my mood—mostly Magic Kingdom at night and EPCOT during the F&G and F&W festivals.

Which is your least favorite park? Blizzard Beach

What is your favorite ride? WOW---tons of favs—they haven’t built an attraction I won’t ride/try! ToT, RnR, Splash, Space, BTMRR, EE, --I’m a thrill seeker!!!! But have to ride COP if it’s open—Uncle Walt lives there you know.

What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? Ummm……never. Although Mission Space must have had me going—I had two CM’s ask if I was ok as I walked down the hall.

Where is your favorite time and place to stay. Anytime I can get there is a good time. (I’m only 7 hours away by car!!) But love Halloween and Christmas!!! Fav place to stay: Wilderness Lodge but will stay almost anywhere if it means I can go. I’m too practical for my own good sometimes—I can stay at WL 2-3 times a year or stay “lower” and go 6 times a year…..hmmm……..

Favorite Place to eat: Don’t really have one. I loved breakfast in the castle and dream of a romantic dinner there someday. And I like the ESPN club if a good game is on—you can get “loud” and still be “ladylike”!!!!!

Favorite Place to sit, have a drink and conversation: Waiting for shows—Illuminations, Wishes, Fantasmic and anywhere the company is good.

I'm 31, Cleveland Ohio gal... never married, no kids, DISNEY ADDICT!!! People make fun of how obsessed I am and how I cry at certain commercials or disney promos. You did NOT want to see me last night while watching a special on the History Channel about the World..... Used to go to Disney every year growing up. Only been there 2 times in the past 10 years.... each time with an ex who did NOT appreciate disney and attempted to make my stay MISERABLE.

Hoping my prince will come, come with me to The World, and REALLY enjoy the magic with me. Starting to lose hope....

Am planning (praying I can save the $) to surprise my whole family (sis, niece, nephew, bro in law and mom) with a trip to The World in sept 08.. to be presented to them next Xmas....

This is me... don't mind me.. I was a bit happy on the wine at a wedding;)

Anyway...

1) Which park is your favorite? Epcot and MK

2) Which is your least favorite park? Can't say, really.

3) What is your favorite ride? Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Tower of Terror, Aerosmith, Spaceship Earth

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? Mission: Space. I didn't get sick, but it messed with my head, even though I did everything they say to do.

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? I'll go anytime, but preferably lower-crowd times. Although I do like Halloween and I want to go around Christmas at some point. POFQ is my favourite resort.

I tried that.. twice LOL!

I forgot to answer the questions!!

1) Which park is your favorite? MK.... Epcot a near second... the other 2 I can do without, sadly

2) Which is your least favorite park? tossup.. there are a FEW rides I like in mgm and ak... I guess I'll go with AK.... which is odd since I"m an animal lover. I did PR for a zoo for a few years, though, so seeing animals in a zoolike situation doesn't excite me very much since it used to be day in day out for me.

3) What is your favorite ride? Pirates, Haunted Mansion, spaceship earth, small world, philharmonic, soarin', I know I'll think of many more when I hit "post"

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? None... I won't even TRY mission space... I think that one would do me in!

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? I recently learned that september is a GREAT time to go.. .and also recently learned POFQ is an AMAZING resort. I haven't stayed onsite much to compare tho.. only other I was at was carribean beach and I hated it there.

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? Mission space...course sure enough, I had to try again in Dec on my solo trip...its ok...but still made me a bit queezy...

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? TO all those who have said no to Mission space you should try the non spinning version. It does not make you sick and I found it just as innersive with out the dizzyness.

John

I'm always willing to try new things! I'll keep that in mind for my next adventure in the World!! I did it years ago when the kids were young but was barely able to walk out of there lol...

I have to echo JF's recommendation on the non-spinning version of Mission Space for those of you who aren't "in" to thrill rides. I tried it in Dec just out of curiosity (I love the "full" version and honestly, more intense would be fine with me, but I realize I'm in the minority on that). I was *quite* impressed with how much of the fun of the experience they were able to maintain without the spinning. I expected it to be pretty lame. It wasn't. Non-spinners--give it a try! :cool1:

Hey Everyone, Have not been on dismates chat lately...I am a 33 year old professional male from Massachusetts, definitely not shy but conservative to a certain extent. Hope to see you all around dismates, vmk, etc...

Just curious has everybody who usually goes into dismates chat purchased that software "FlashChat" for it, everytime I log on it does not seem like anybody is there anymore and I know one night everybody or a handful where on yahoo chat....

(1) Which park is your favorite? Magic Kingdom (WDW), EPCOT (Close Second)

(2) Which is your least favorite park? Animal Kingdom, not really much to do there usually a 1/2 day park for me.

(3) What is your favorite ride? Pirates of the Carribean, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain...Geez, How can you really pick only one ride out of such a large world.

(4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? I have never done that, although I avoid some rides like the plague Tower of Terror, Mission Space and Everest.

(5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? I like going to Walt Disney World any time of the year, but really prefer when the crowds are much lighter. I mean I love kids, but there is nothing better when they are all in school and the parks are all to yourself. My favorite place I have stayed would be Wilderness Lodge.

Hi, I am a swf, 45, from extreme se MI (there is about 50 miles south of Detroit before Ohio). I have 2 boys at home 8 & 3. I just went on my first solo trip to WDW in Dec.'06 and it was ok. We are going as a family again in June '07. My favorite park is EPCOT and my least favorite is MGM. My grand passion is music and if it's Disney music - perfection! I would love to have a copy of the orchestration from POC II autographed by the composer:hippie: .

The trip was just too weird without my kids. I have been a mom since I was 18 and am very "lost" without my kids. I'm having a difficult time switching from "mom" to "woman". It may have something to do with burying 2 of my children in less than 3 years. It's something I have to work through, but it would be nice to have someone help.:hippie:

I know what you mean about switching from mom to woman, I'm going to try hard to get down to the World with a friend of mine here and the boys will stay at home. Even though they will be 18 and 19 at the time, we have always gone together, so kind of weird to leave them behind. I tend to feel guilty because we have always done so much together, esp since divorcing years ago, we have been the best of friends, so I understand how hard it is to switch gears. I am sorry to hear about your losses, it must be hard at times. I hope your next visit to the World is ultra magical Midge! :grouphug:

Okay, my turn to jump in! :)

My real name is Debbie (a huge difference from my DIS name, right?), and I'm a 26-year-old SWF from Southern NJ (Cape May County for those of you from Voorhees!). I'm an Elementary School teacher (I'm bouncing between some long-term substitute positions, and I'm hoping to have something permanent in September).

1) Which park is your favorite? Epcot, hands down. Much more adult-oriented, which is why it's my favorite.

2) Which is your least favorite park? Honestly, I can't say that I have a least favorite.

3) What is your favorite ride? Tie between Splash Mountain and Soarin'.

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? Rock-n-Roller Coaster.

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? I love traveling to WDW during Flower and Garden Festival (Memorial Day weekend) and New Year's (I know, I know, the most crowded time of year, but I love it!!).

Debi: I know Cape May County only from going to Wildwood, NJ with my first ex-girlfriend in the summers of 2001 and 2002. We took Delsea Drive (Route 47) all the way from Pennsauken, passing Rio Grande before hitting the causeway to the Wildwoods.

DisTeach: I know that there are a lot of teachers on these boards. I've never dated one, but I don't have anything against teachers. Because I don't drive, I find it far easier to stay home than to date.

Which park is your favorite? I love Epcot the best. Prob followed by MK, then MGM, then AK.

Which is your least favorite park? prob one of the water parks although i've never been ot any of them.

What is your favorite ride? def Soarin', but i love TOT, EE, and POC.

What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? the tea cups!! don't like the spinning...

Where is your favorite time and place to stay. i'll stay anytime, but i love christmas the best. beach club villas are my fave!!

Favorite Place to eat: oh god, i love to eat anywhere, anytime. but i do love the fish n chips in epcot! tradition now to always eat there my first night!

Favorite Place to sit, have a drink and conversation: anywhere with the world showcase in sight if at epcot. with the castle in sight at MK.

In my experience, I've found that Elementary Education is a predominently female profession. The school that I'm in now has only one male teacher out of 30. It's hard to meet men with these types of odds. :) Since I have very little free time, it's hard to go out to meet men in other situations.

Ah yes, I agree. Luckily, I am high school so we have a bit more to choose from. My dilemma is I work in a huge school in the English department (another primarily female dominated arena) so it is basically the same predicament. My school is fairly new and we have a really young faculty for the most part, but the whole trying-to-find-a-Disney-fanatic amongst the crowd is always a miss. lol I have to keep my Disney conversations between myself, my girlfriends, and the DIS! :dance3:

After all, that's what I keep telling myself as each birthday comes around to remind me that I am still single when nearly all my friends are paired off, and my younger sisters (who are 9 and 10 years younger!) are now dipping into the same pool of eligible bachelors as me... *sigh* Now if only there were more male Disney afficionados (or at least more men) who didn't look at me really weird when they learn that I really do love Disney and found my recent trip to WDW to be like a homecoming. Ok, I'll jump in...

25 year old female from White Bear Lake, Minnesota (Twin Cities).
Looking for my true prince charming, or beast, or Aladdin, or whatever...

1) Which park is your favorite? Magic Kingdom, it really says Disney to me. But I love Epcot, MGM and AK a lot as well.

2) Which is your least favorite park? I think my least favorite park is Animal Kingdom. I love AK, really, but if I had to pick one that would be it simply for the sheer exhaustion at the end of the day.

3) What is your favorite ride? I LOVE the mountains, but my classic fav would have to be either WedWay or Dumbo.

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? Dinosaur-it jerked me around too much.

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? I love to stay at SSR and BCV, my home resorts for DVC.

Hi everybody

My name is Shawn(real original user name, I know..)

Little bit about me. I am a 26 yr old SWM from Canada, about 3 hours, north of Minot, ND

1) Which park is your favorite? Epcot. But I have to admit, when I saw MK for the first time, my jaw dropped

2) Which is your least favorite park? Sadly,I think its Animal Kingdom. Parts of it are really cool, but for things to do, it really didn't bring a lot for me

3) What is your favorite ride? Three Way tie Soarin, R n R Coaster, and Tower of terror

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? Small world

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? Have stayed twice at POR in Dec, and May, staying solo at Pop in May. Favourite time to go. hard to choose. December was really an experience but May was kind of nice with the weather

Wow, maybe they should rename this the "younger" Disney Prince and Princess's thread. :rotfl2: Like DJ, I am slightly older than most of the Disney singles on this thread. Maybe I am supposed to remain single. :rotfl:

Well, I am more partial to our thread that we are normally on DJ and DDave. But that is because of the info, playful banterings and friendships that are there.

Just got home from WDW and am going to take a nap.

Better late than never in joining in.

43 Female from Chaska, MN. Used to be an AP holder for both parks, now just for DL. Was at DL to celebrate all the 50th milestones.

1) Which park is your favorite? I like each park for different reasons, however the one I spend the least amount of time in is AK.

2) Which is your least favorite park? Does a water park count? I'm not a water park person.

3) What is your favorite ride? Expedition Everest, Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain...

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? The silly boat ride in Mexico.

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? Early December would be my favorite time. Resorts would be Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness Lodge.

Work in Risk Management and looking for someone to share my interest in Disney and life.

Hi everyone I am a single 21 female from Texas. I currently don't have a job but am taking online courses (I don't consider myself a student because I don't go to actual school). I joined Dismates not too long ago (ChemicalsReact). Hope to meet new people soon.

It looks like all the single disney loving Canadians are hanging out on this thread! I'm a 27 year old female from Regina, Saskatchewan. I have no children. I love Disney World, but most people around here just don't get my obsession! I'm hoping to meet more like-minded individuals.

1) Which park is your favorite? Epcot - There is just so much to see and do there!

2) Which is your least favorite park? AK - I often only spend half a day there during my entire trip.

3) What is your favorite ride? I love the thrill rides, but I must say I'm a huge fan of Spaceship Earth. Something about that rided gives me goosebumps everytime I ride it, lol.

4) What, if any, ride did you get off and say that was the last time I'll do that? None, I love them all! Each one is a different experience.

5) Where is your favorite time and place to stay? I love going down mid-november. The weather is nice, the parks are quiet, what more could you ask for? We usually stay at either the All-Star Resorts or Pop Century. I love being surrounded in the Disney theming. We debated Coronado Springs this time, but ended up chosing Pop Century in the end.

Hey, there 's a single male poster on this board :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: who loves Disney, I don't know if you could handle the compitition of Perla and Suzy (you know he's thinks their real).. He spends a lot of time at the World following all the characters around begging for pictures, they run because their so scared of the creepy man following them. :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: They know they are supposed to do their job and be nice to all but sometimes when the same creepy guy comes up wanting the same ole picrue and then he wears a shirt that says "I'm there little baby" what do you think they should do, you run as far and as fast as you can.....

Looks like we have a bored little :stir: in our midst.
