Hi, we have just booked to go to the Disneyland Hotel 26th Jan, my son will be 9 while we are there and we are planning on keeping this trip a complete surprise until we get there. We have never been to DLP but have been lucky enough to have visited WDW Florida 4 times now. I want to do something special for my sons birthday, any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Looking through the threads there have been items on a Birthday Tea Party. Also if I book a character dinner for his birthday would it be better in the Parks or the hotel.

I'm sure you will have a great time especially staying at the DLH.

You could do a character birthday tea at Plaza Gardens. You could also do a character dinner at Cafe Mickey in Disney Village or Inventions in DLH. If you didn't want to do the birthday tea then you could order a birthday cake when booking your character dinner. There were quite a few birthdays while we were there at Christmas and one table even had gifts delivered with the cake.

You can order a Birthday cake at most restaurants, we had
ours at Cafe Mickey.
It's a lovely surprise, the CM will bring the cake to your table when you indicate you're ready and the characters, CM's and most of the guests in the restaurant will sing Happy Birthday.:)

Hi, thanks for the replies, the character dinner at Cafe Mickeys with birthday cake sounds great, would you suggest I book that now or would it be okay to wait until we get there.

What would you suggest if there are only adults on a birthday trip?

The tea party is only fun if you have children! ??? :confused3

What else could you do as an adult to make this day special?
