I posted this question in a previous thread so I apologize in advance if this is redundant.

I just got off the phone with Disney Dining after I tried (and encountered the rudest CM - first time this has ever happened) to book an adr for the Hoop De Doo. She indicated that I could not have a Category 1 seating because I'm on the Dining Plan? :confused3

This makes absolutely no sense to me. Perhaps it is my inexperience booking ADR's and there is a rational explanation, but I don't see where I'm a Disney guest I should not be given the opportunity to book the best seats. Are the seats for handicapped or guests that pay extra?? If so, I totally understand that, but she made no effort to explain, just said no.

Could someone shed some light on this for me? thanks so much!! :)

When using dining credits for dinner shows you must book a Category 2 or 3. This changed for 2007 along with the implementation of pricing tiers.

Thanks, that's all she had to say or even direct me to their new policies. I was just so surprised at her rudeness, as I had never experienced that before. The CM's are typically so nice. She must have been having a bad day...we all do. :)

Wow, that sure does seem like a lot of money. YIKES!!! I'm pretty sure DH wouldn't go for spending the extra money to get a seat up front.

If my memory serves me correctly, the last time we were at the show we were seated smack dab in the center. I presume that is Cat1? We were also seated directly next to the kitchen door. I don't want to make a production out of this thread...it's really not a big issue.

Amazing I can remember 17 years ago but I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning.

Last time we were the we were seated in what would be considered Category/Tier 2 now, the seats were still great, don't worry, just go and enjoy the show.

Just so you know. Your paying for HDD out-of-pocket & not using credits from the DP.

I find it a better value for my money to pay oop for the Hoop dee Doo. It just seems to work out more in our favor. We'll be there the 26th of January!

quick question ... if I book an ADR for HDD and want to use my dining credits, do they still charge my credit card and then refund it? That wouldn't work for me because I'm Canadian and our "refunds" to our cc's are at a lower exchange rate than our purchases ... so I'd end up losing money. Or do they note the DDP, but still take my cc in case I don't show up? :confused3

Thanks in advance ...

If you book using DDP your card number will be taken to reserve the seats but you will not be charged. However, if you do not cancel within the appropriate window (24 or 48hrs) or you don't pick up your tickets from the front desk and have them deduct your DDP points, your card will be charged.
