Epcot Elements Sign-ups!! Closed but ACTIVE!!

Due date is February 15th (that is when I need to receive your package. Please mail packages out by February 9th with DELIVERY CONFIRMATION. I will wait be mailing them back out on February 21st. This is firm because this in the middle of basketball season for all 5 kids in our household so we are going to be busy!!

The "rules" –
1. Choose a group. There are two (2) to start with a third group will open if there is enough interest! One group will be Future World and one for World Showcase. For starters, please limit yourself to one group, so that everyone interested can swap. If I have extra slots, I will, of course, open them up.

2. Choose two elements for each slot you select – see the list below. Post your choices of elements. It will be fine if some of the elements duplicate within a group

3. PM me with your DIS name, name, home address, email address, and phone numbers. Email and phone numbers will only be used to follow up if I have not heard from you. Please PM me regardless of previous swaps since I don’t have numbers and emails. THANKS!

4. Post your weekly status on the Progress thread - which will be posted after the slots are filled.
You must check in 2 weeks prior to the due date. If I have not heard from you by then I will send you a pm or an email. I WILL ANGEL YOUR SPOT IF I DO NOT HEAR FROM YOU WITHIN TWO DAYS OF THE PM OR EMAIL.

5. Check the progress thread for your status - it will be updated with ship info and received info.

6. Packing Instructions - use a Ziploc for each person and put everything for that person into their bag. Please label each bag with your name so we know who made each element. You‘ll have 12 bags to enclose in the larger (gallon size) Ziploc bag for each group you are in - be sure to include your name, your DIS name and your group number. Include $4.05 for postage (or stamps if you don't want to send cash) to return your items. Delivery Confirmation is $0.50.
Please don’t send metered or click-it/ship-it postage – some hostesses have had issues with these.

7. PM me if you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.

8. There will be 12 people per group. There will be a total of 2 groups. (A third group of anything goes will open if enough interest)

1 Topper - 8 inches wide
1 Borders - 2 vertical, 11 inches in length/width
2 journaling boxes - (double matted and embellished) 2 per person; double matted and embellished, at least a 3 x 4 writing area
4 Embellished squares - (double matted) 4 per person
2 Tags - (double matted) 2 per person; Must include either fibers or eyelets in the holes, no smaller than 2x3.
2 Slide Mounts
1 Box n Tag - (1 of each- Above rules apply)
1 mini file folder
1 library pocket and tag
1 Shaker Box - (1 per person)
1 Paper Piecing - (1 per person)
1 Matted Poem or song Lyric - (double matted and embellished); At least 4x4 space (no handwriting please)
Eyelets/brads/buttons/charms AND fiber/ribbon - (6 per person AND 1 yard)

Yep, they went back Tuesday. Today was DS5's short day though so I didn't get much done. I walked 2 miles today. I thought about trying to walk miles to WDW but from now til our trip I would need to walk 19 miles everyday. That ain't gonna happen LOL So 2 miles it is. And I took all the wreathes off the house. Now to dismantle the tree.:scared:

I have an idea I've been wanting to use for forever, because the Land is really the only place left that uses the old pavilion symbols.

Epcot swaps are on my "approved" spending list (DH and I got to keep a couple things were were planning pre-cruise, mine is Epcot swaps and an ATG tape gun, have you guys seen those things?)

Just wondering..........While I absolutely LOVE 'Soarin' and "Honey I Shrunk the Audience", how do people use those swap elements in their books when photos can't be taken while the films are being shown? Other than taking a photo of the signs and a description of the attractions, I haven't been able to think of a way to use those items. I know it's also true of some of the other rides, but I've always managed to take a lot of pictures even though I wasn't supposed to! :rolleyes:

I noticed -em, picked journal boxes, which is good because you can always write your thoughts about the ride. Photo mats or frames might be something, that is less useful. Depending on the sizes of the elements, and what they end up looking like, you could maybe make a person's "favorites" page (more for Soarin' than HISTA). Or maybe for a "land" page, that has a little bit of several different places with photos of those random area shots that are hard to give their own layout to.

I'm just mostly guessing, cause it's not like I've USED any of my items yet!

Going back to the earlier question about rides that you can't take pictures on - that is something that I initially wondered about with my first ride swaps but I found that I will inevitably use most things. My DH likes to take a picture of the family in front of the sign for the ride if we all ride together. And if the building is interesting looking, I take a picture of that.

I did a layout for Mission Space that used a tag and journalling boxes with a picture of the building because obviously we didn't have any pictures of us riding it. I used the boxes to talk about how my DsD reacted riding it for the first time.

For HISTA, I almost always take a picture of us in the preshow area wearing the 3-D glasses. I do that for all the 3-D shows, I confess. And for Soarin, I like the signage, and I like the CM's uniforms. But I admit, the queue area and pre-show area doesn't lend itself to pictures. But it's my new favorite ride so I will for sure want to incorporate it into my scrapbook somehow!

For Soarin', I figure photos can also be taken of the gliders and friends and family in them really quickly before and after the ride is finished. I always wish I could take photos of the show because it's so spectacular, and the same with the Lion King movie at the Land, but the CM's just wouldn't appreciate that. But, yes, I do take photos of the signage and buildings, etc. Thanks for the other tips!

I was looking at the stuff for the Universe of Energy. We have so many pics of those dinos...I'm a sucker for topiaries, LOVE "EM. Just was looking at that and the sign too. I didn't see the show because DS got scared and RAN out of the theater, and the doors shut between us... AND that was when I met my first unhelpful cast member....the doors shut and he went :confused3 ...I said "YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!!" I was going to have a meltdown all over him..NOW WHO WAS SCARED...:rotfl2: I got the backdoor tour to get to DS...DH and my older DS saw the show and said it was great...

Anyway, not sure what else I could do for that one except those dinos...LOL...

The part of the ride you missed was mainly all dinosaurs. The other part of the pavilion is the Ellen jeoprady game preshow and the ending of the show at the end of the ride(at least since it renovation). Other neat things about it- those big theatre seats run on a very small wire/line to keep them on track- also the pavillion actually has solar panels on it that they use to run one part of the ride/show.

I was looking at the World Showcase Passport last night with all the paper charms, etc, and thinking that it would be really good if someone did a World Showcase theme that I could use that for. I guess it was a group subliminal effort!

And, I hear you on the stepper. I commented to my DH today, before I did my exercise tape, "Why does it take an hour to work up to something that takes all of 20 minutes to actually do?"

I'm no help! I'm the same way with the treadmill!! Yes, there is a TV in front of it, too. Being winter, it's dark enough without having to go down to a dark basement to use it. Plus, there's probably a boogey man down there!! :scared1:

My Test Track elements are a paper piecing and a topper. I just designed the piecing. If it doesn't work out well enough when I cut it I may change again though.
