WE'RE ALL HERE!! Sorting Friday (March 2nd) and they'll go in the mail Saturday, March 3rd!

Thank you all for signing up for this swap! :dance3: Here is our progress thread. I know it’s about 7 weeks until our due date, but this will give us a chance to monitor our send/received stuff.

Please remember, our due date is February 28th. That is the day I need to receive your package. Please mail by February 21st. All packages will be mailed back to you on or before March 5th--they will definitely be going home to you by then, so we can go to WDW!

I bought some paper and I am beginning to play with ideas. I really want to do some kind of a layered mountain to go with Everest and i feel like I will need to play with that for awhile before i may be happy. I did get paper and embellishments for Discovery Island in my trip into town yesterday.

I finished my prototype of my Tree of Life paper piecing. It came out better than I expected!

New tool: I normally do the PP by hand (lots of tracing). This one I decided to scan the pattern, then I opened it up in Paint Shop Pro. I duplicated the image, so I had one layer per color. Erased the parts that I didn't need on each layer. Printed each layer on the color cardstock (no need to do definition lines, because the computer/printer did them), cut everything out and assembled.

It's so exciting to be working on swap stuff again!

Do not put adhesive on them and then cut them out! I did that and ruined 3 letters. I wonder if I can buy replacements????

no mine make a cracking sound and are fine. I replace mine when you start getting impressions on the new paper from other letters that you previously cut out. I also cut on 1 side only, when it got bad I flipped it.

Unlike Mickster, I've been thinking about the Epcot swap for so long, that I'm now scared to work on it! What if it doesn't turn out like in my head? So in a classic case of avoidance, I did the AK group, less pressure.

I think the calendar was a huge success. It gave me an idea of what I wanted to join, and I started thinking about my ideas ahead of time.

Since I know it'll be a while before I join another and when, I can spend a little bit more on the embellishments of the current ones. Which is cool. If you don't find my style suits your book, you can take my stuff apart and use the good items. And you still like me. :cutie:

Buffy, I "third" the greatness of the calendar (if AWM seconds it, then I third it, right?? ;) ). This helps me space out when I need to work on stuff, what I need to do, and it makes me able to do swaps even though I'm back to coaching. The calendar is awesome!

I got some paper for this tonight--not sure if I got enough. I ran (really, not a pretty sight) into JoAnn's before we met my parents for dinner. I had 5 minutes to get whatever I could find that I needed (I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted) and then get out so we wouldn't be late.

I think I have everything I need. I'm going to try to get some time Sunday to assemble these!

It's hard to believe that our due date is a month from this Sunday! January has flown by!! :)

I can't claim the Xyron purchases, but if you had been at our Joann's, it probably was me that knocked you over! :rotfl2: I knew I had to hurry, hurry, hurry, and as I was walking in, this woman was pushing a cart in. It was one of those comical things where no matter where I tried to step, she stepped in front of me. At one point, I was almost running alongside her, trying to get around. I know she thought I was nuts!! :)

I started yesterday cutting out the EcoAfrica Paper. And I use the term PAPER very loosely. I knew it was plant fibers, but man what a mess to cut. Little fibers everywhere, kinda like glitter. And it is made uneven. So as long no one minds, I'll finish using it. But I'll make a piece or two using really paper too for the Safari group.
The dinoland one has ideas and paper and embellishments purchased. I should have all of these finished up this weekend.

Sounds interesting.. I don't mind uneven.. especially if it's due to the paper used (speciality paper).. besides I think a little uneven-ness gives it character because we aren't all perfect!!! :)

Okay, this swap is finally done! I don't know why but I really struggled with this one. I guess I just wasn't feeling my inner Lion King. I did and re-did and threw out my tags a total of 4 times! They were giving me fits! Finally I just said pick another element before I go insane! Because I'm not crazy about any of my elements I did one extra one - my set will consist of a matted lyric, 2 journal boxes and 4 squares (except they're circles.)

I'll be sending this out today!

I was having swap block on my Asia pieces. However, while I was at JoAnn's this morning, the store that normally has nothing, had the Far East DCWV paper stack. And it was on sale.

So I think I will be able to be unblocked this week. Having the right paper or embellishment can make all the difference.

Ugh, (I really do say that out loud by the way) I have to decide what to do this weekend. My ILs are expecting me to drive down this weekend since my oldest has off on Monday. But with the white stuff due here on Saturday and no above freezing temperatures before who knows when...I'm hesitant to drive that far. Going South is easy. It is coming back that worries me. I'm not the best driver when the weather is nice. And they won't tell me to not come, they miss their grandchildren (only). Guess I'll just have to put my big girl panties on and deal with it. Thanks for the well wishes. I've decided to not go down tonight. I will wait until after the snow leaves and then just do a regular two day weekend trip, down one day-back the next. My DH is their only, so these are the only grandchildren. My parents however only see my boys twice a year, maybe-because I'm the one who left home and never came back. So :hug: to you and DH.

So instead of driving south, we went a little north tonight to JoAnn's. Sweet DH let me get two cartridges for my Cricut. I had a 40% coupon via email and another one snail mail. So I am the new proud owner of Doodlecharms and ZooBalloons. :rotfl: So much better than driving in bad weather.

I was just getting ready to email my coupon, but my DH thought that they had specific bar codes. I check one that was being offered on another group and her bar code is different from mine. I know Gymboree does that and the first person to use the coupon gets the discount, all other "copies" don't.

Since I already did use mine, I don't know if it still good. If you wish I can still send it and you can try anyway. Let me know.

Hey Rebecca, I know SIOH is at work and can't post, so I thought I would chime in...our plan is to mail them together if there is any way possible. With what I have so far, I don't think there is any group that would be so bulky it would require more than the $4.05 postage. Hopefully that will work out for those who are in both swaps.
