My boyfriend and I will be visiting WDW in February and would like to hear some suggestions on some of the restaurants and bars in the resort that tend to be more gay friendly.

:wave2: I think there is a New Years thread below that has some useful info for you re: Pleasure Island. The board has been a little quiet lately -- but there are a couple folks here who live and work @ WDW -- I bet they'll have some ideas to help you out when they pop in next.

I don't know quite how to answer this one. I've found all the restaurants and bars in the WDW resort (overall) to be accepting. We've never had a problem in any of them.
We have our favorites, but that is based on food and atmosphere, not on acceptance.
For a very warm and obviously inclusive atmosphere throughout the parks, try to visit during Gay Days. Everyone is wicked cheerful and happy to have us there! :cool1:

You will find all of the Orlando area pretty friendly and accommodating, especially Disney. If your looking for a night spot or something in Downtown Orlando PM me.

We need a sticky thread for the GLBT-centric and/or friendly things to do at Disney. :wizard:

I recently read somewhere that the Orlando/Kissimmee area now has one of the top 10 highest gay populations of any metro area in the country. Finding gay-friendly stuff isn't much of a problem :goodvibes

Well, duh, not hard if you live the area. My problem is dragging my carcass off-property to go searching. What should I do go to a gas station and ask where I can find friends of Dorothy? :bride: :cutie:

We've never really had any issues at anything in the park area. But you could try some of the downtown Orlando stuff. Most of the restaurants downtown are usually pretty full of gays and lesbians.
My fave restaurants are:
Dexter's of Thornton Park
Hue
The Globe
We had friends in town this weekend and tried out two new gay clubs/bars:
Lava Lounge - it was great. Good music, nice atomosphere, not crowded. No dancing really. It's just more of nice place to get a drink and chill
Savoy - I didnt care for it and we left right away. It seemed....I dont know...trashy to me. Could be the gogo boys. That's not really our scene.
These are both on Orange Ave in the downtown area.
Also try:
The Peacock Room (on Mills)
Parliment House (on OBT) - although I dont really care for this place
Pulse (on South Orange Ave.) I have not gone yet, but it seems to be very popular
Well, that's a good start. I hope someone can fill in some more for you.

Pulse tends to be what a friend of mine used to call "S&M club." The S&M stand for "Stand and Model." A lot of people standing around trying to look pretty. Music here is good, and there are places to dance, but boring if you go alone.

I'm looking for smoke-free gay clubs/bars in Orlando. Are there any?
