Well its came all too fast ...our last day!!!
Way at the beggining of the holiday we said to Leigh and Erin that we would have to have breakfast one morning in IHOP. Conversation went a bit like this
Claire..."Mum we will have to take Leigh and Erin to IHOP for breakfast"
Leigh..."Whats IHOP"
Claire..."International house of pancakes they do wonderful pancakes and maple pecan syrup""
Leigh..."Oh we dont like pancakes or syrup""
Claire...."It doesnt just sell pancakes it does amazing breakfasts"
Leigh..."Oh well ,eh, we might give it a go"
So its our last morning and its something of Walker tradition that we go to IHOP for our last breakfast before heading home.So we say to Leigh and Erin that its ok we will go on our own and meet up with them later, but they say "oh no its ok we will come with you"but i knew really they were only doing it for us!
Anyway we walk in and get seated and
Leigh says"Oh what a lovely smell ,what is that?"
"Pancakes " replies Claire
So we all order
Claire... scrambled egg,sausage and a small stack of pancakes
Erin ...fried eggs,bacon,sausage and a small stack of pancakes
Leigh...."oh well i might give them a try"....fried eggs,bacon,sausage and a small stack of pancakes
Lorraine....Scrambled egg,sausage,bacon and an english muffin
So we all get tucked in and i am trying not to look ...but wondering what Leigh is making of the pancakes.
"Claire can you pass me more of that delicious maple pecan syrup" says Leigh
"Erin are you not finishing your pancakes" says Leigh
"No mum i have had enough" says Erin
"Well pass them over here"says Leigh
OMG....She has polished off her plate and then started on Erins!!!We were all in hysterics!!!Sorry Leigh but it was one of the funniest things you were so funny!!
Anyway breakfast over we went to Subway to get some rolls for our flight home then a last wander round wallgreens before being picked up by our *********** driver for the drive back to the airport.
Uneventful flight this time thank goodness!! plane was empty so we all got 3 seats and managed a sleep.
Got back to Glasgow in just under 8 hours where one of the grumpies was waiting for us to take us home.
Hope you have enjoyed reading these as much as i have enjoyed reliving the holiday.I have always enjoyed reading other peoples but thought i could never do one but i have really enjoyed it so next time will take more notes
