pictures into movies

Can someone help me - I would like to take my pictures and make them into short movies with music. I have seen people mention Windows Movie Maker - is that a program you buy or can you download it? Also how easy is it to use?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. If anyone goes to rosie.com she (rosie o'donnell) does alot of movies with her pictures and would love to do the same but have no idea how to start!!

not sure if you mean slide shows from still photos? or actually making movies where people move and stuff from still photos? do you have any imageing software? i know photoshop elements helps you make slide shows if that is what you mean and you can add music etc..I have a windows movie maker on my windows xp and i think it was just standard with the xp...it should be under accessories in the all programs on xp. i also have windows photo story 3 which is probably a free download from the windows website..never used it but it says you can add panning etc to photos
