ESPN Weekend

Anyone ever go when they are having the ESPN weekend? That is when we will be there and dbf is excited about it! Just wondering what crowds are like and any other info that you could give me! :)

I'm starting to wonder if anyone has gone during this time that is a member of the disboards...maybe it will only be us there! LOL (somehow I don't think that is true!)

OK ladies... we were there in 2005... they had it end of February....

the crowds were good but then again it rained all morning and was an overall crappy day.... we traveled from WI to be there so we went regardless.... MGM has a good area to keep the ESPN activities in their own area so if your there to participate in that... there was more crowding in that area.... if your there to do the normal MGM activities then you wont even realize all the ESPN caos going on. Back by the rockin rollercoaster area they had a fenced in area set up where you can compete in some little sport type things... my teenage boy competed in a free throw contest that they were giving prizes away for... he won a IPOD.... my other teenage boy played a golfing game and received some food coupons to use that day at different booths....

They had a lot of stars (athletes) there I guess... I never saw them.... they have a HUGE screen showing the ESPN showing and whats happening there but I dont know where they had some of this hidden cuz I never stumbled on it. They were suppose to have a nice parade with some of the ESPN announcers and athletes but I guess they have a weather clause because they didnt have it because it wasnt "suitable weather" according to the CM's we spoke too....

my sons, my husband and my dad were not impressed overall BUT again the weather may have been that reason it wasnt what we expected. PLEASE come back and let us know the experience you have with it because I would like to know....

we caught this last year, and my kids (6,9,13) all LOVED it. there were tons of activities and freebie give aways that the kid could "win." There were autograph sessions with athletes, which we didn't participate in. I'd definitely say that if we were there again during ESPN the W/E, we'd make a point to check it out. Thanks for sharing the pics! We actually avoided MGM during ESPN weekend last year since I wasn't sure whether it was something my kids would enjoy or not. I think we'll go ahead and check it out this year... looks fun! :)
