There was a lot of interest in finding a roommate for this trip to help cut costs. We now have a thread where you can post and try to find a roomie.
So all those who were thinking about it, now's your chance to make it happen!!!

Calling all the wild and crazy, or just Disney lovin, ladies!!
It is time to mark those calendars for the 2nd Annual Ladies-only WDW trip!!!!:woohoo: :yay: :cool1:  :cheer2: :dance3:
Our first trip, back in Sept. was a blast!! We had over 45 awesome DIS ladies attend and we are more than ready to do it again. And we want you to join us!
This years dates will be November 1-6, 2007 and we will be staying at the Pop Century Resort. :yay:
Now just to clarify, Ladies-only means no men and no kids (under 18)! (Sorry guys and kiddos, not this time.) ;)
So if you love Disney, if you are a lady (well, if you are female, you don't have to act very lady-like), if you are ready to have fun and make new friends who share the same interests you do, then please think seriously about joining us on our next adventure!!!
If you are interested or have any questions just ask away and either myself or someone from the original trip will be happy to fill you in on what you need to know. (so far for this next trip we only have dates and a resort planned though)

It is a lot of fun! Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it this time around. Although we have some ladies who, to cut costs, are not coming for the whole time, and some who are sharing a room. Also we are planning to do lots of counter service as opposed to table service meals, so that should help as well.
Trust me, if you came, you wouldn't be the only one on a budget.
Anyways, maybe you can find a way to make it work. If not, then yes, we'd love to see you in '08!! :thumbsup2

Hi there!
I don't think last time we had anyone from Boston but this time you never know!
Have you seen the thread on the CB? http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1311267
There is some good info on there especially this post:
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=16178840&postcount=160
We also have a Chat thread on the DIS Meets board. It's very long, over 9,100 pages, so just skip all that and jump right in on the last page if you want to chat with some of the ladies who are going.
I would check out that CB thread and then if you have any more questions please feel free to send me a PM and I'd be happy to help you out.
I will say last time was alot of fun and it's something you won't regret!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Month end?? Forget that! Call in sick! We didn't get to see you last time! :guilty: Maybe you could find a new job?? I mean what's more important, work or vacations to Disneyworld?? :rolleyes1 ;)
The Blue Goose is the name of the official drink of the Ladies only Trips. It's Grey Goose vodka mixed with the blue slushie from Pop. :thumbsup2
What if you can go but cant stay at POP
That's fine. You don't have to. Last time we had voted on Coronado Springs Resort but by the time the trip actually arrived we were divided up between CSR and Pop. We also had one or two scattered at other resorts.
It was just decided that it's more fun to stay all together. Alot of time was spent in the late evenings, after the parks closed, hanging out by the pool, chatting, drinking, :rolleyes1
But we already have one person booked at the Beach Club so I am sure not every one will end up at Pop.
Also we have some coming in early and some leaving early so if you can't make it the whole time or those exact dates, that's fine too. You won't be the only one. :thumbsup2

This sounds like so much fun :goodvibes After 10 trips, 6 of them solo, in the past 6 yrs, I'm looking at 2007 as being a year without disney :scared1: My daughter is getting married this year :goodvibes so I have to pay for that LOL. I also turn 50 this year  so am planning something special...my birthday is hurricane season so I am planning to put off the celebration a bit and am planning on a cruise in 2008. So no disney in 2007, but gee, maybe I should celebrate my 50th birthday(in Aug actually) before 2008 by taking a short vacation in Nov:confused: Does any of this make sense  Am I serious...I really don't know but you have me thinking...it would have to be on a budget...so...some of you women shared rooms and had never met before??? Please, tell me a little bit more...

Hi there!
I think you should definitely celebrate your 50th in November! :thumbsup2 And we will help you!! ;)
The first ladies trip was last Sept. '06.
I came up with the idea last year around the end of Feb and posted it on the CB. There was alot of interest, so we started planning.
We have a thread on the DIS Meets board that has all our planning on it from the first trip and is now used as our chat thread. So it's quite large. Over 9000 pages. lol
But anyone is welcome to hop on and start chatting with us.
When we first started planning it last year none of us knew each other. At all. But over time you find certain people you click with for one reason or another.
Even if it's something as simple as being from the same state, or having kids the same age, or both snoring really bad!! :rotfl2:
We ended up picking roommates and over the months before the trip we all chatted so much that by the time the trip came, no one really felt like we were strangers anymore at all.
Everyone had a great time and got along really nicely.
There was such a large group that you can hang out with different people all the time, or even take some breaks and go solo for a bit if you need to.
Also there is almost always someone who is willing to try a restaurant that you want to try or a tour or a ride, etc.
We had some ladies take the Keys to the Kingdom tour and some did the Segway tour.
We'd usually meet up for meals and then split off into smaller groups depending on who wanted to do what.
Um, we have several people who have just joined up for this years trip so we have a few "newbies". It's not like we are all old friends and anyone new will feel left out. Also I think this group of ladies is just wonderful and are very welcoming of new ladies who want to have some fun at Disney.
And by the time the trip comes, if you keep chatting with us on the chat thread, you won't feel awkward at all.
As far as budget goes, we are staying at a value so more people can afford it. Many are on a tight budget so you wouldn't be the only one. A few are only coming in for part of the time. Some are sharing rooms to cut cost. Alot of us are cutting back on table service meals and doing alot of counter service.
The Food and Wine Festival will also be going on at that time, which is alot of fun with a group of ladies.
I'm not sure what else I can add right now.
There are some links in my sig, you can check those out. And there are some links in post 5 that are worth reading as well.
If you have any other specific questions feel free to PM me and I'll help you out!! :thumbsup2 :confused3
ETA: I see you are from Canada. We had two from there last time and one is going again this time.

Well, maybe you can skip a few....:rolleyes1 ;)
I have to say that last year's group of Ladies were lots of fun to chat with after I decided to go.
I just wish I had spent more time with them.
Anyone sitting on the fence about going should really just jump off and join the fun.
Wish I could go this year but I'll be there Feb 2-7 and Dec 2-12. That only leaves me with a few more days of vacation time.
Maybe if I win the JACKPOT I'll come on down with you.
I miss chatting with all you wild ladies!

I was looking through some of the trip pics from Park Fare and I saw you in one!! I was wondering how the heck you are doing?
I'm sorry to hear you won't make it with us this time around. It would have been great to spend more time hanging out. But you are always welcome to come and chat with us, whether you are going or not. :thumbsup2

That's too funny! :rotfl:
I am about 25-30 minutes away from TC. LOL Hmm, small world after all, as the song says. ;)
Most of the people from MI I meet on here are usually from down state, like closer to Detroit or Lansing. That's where the others ladies are near.
We've only been here since summer of '04. DH and I grew up in SoCal and are not really liking these winters!! :scared: :lmao: (although this one has been nice so far!!) :rolleyes1
We'll be moving to Vegas this summer. He still has family in SoCal and Vegas will obviously be alot closer.
Well, I hope you decide to join up with us! It will be a great time! :cool1:
There are some other threads out there with info on them.
The link to our chat thread and reference thread are in my sig and we have a thread on the CB. The link to that is in post 5 I believe.
If you have any questions just let me know! :)

Beth, what a small world, what town are you in , because heck 25-30 min away is still this area isn't it, lol?
I'm originally from Palm Beach Gardens, FLorida and moved to NC then TX now here to stay, I love the seasons and love the snow but love the great summers here too.
Been here 4 years now. Love it, my teen sons love it too so I plan to be here a while!
So you guys fly down, what city do you fly out of , TC? or downstate?
Wow we will have to talk more, you are the closest person I've ever met on the Disboards , I'm so excited, lol!!!

I'm in the Lake Ann area. My DH works at Munson. And just about everything we do is in TC.
So you moved from a warm climate too huh? I think you adjusted better than I did! LOL
My kids really like it here but after growing up near Los Angeles, it's just a little too quiet for me. It's a beautiful place and we'd definitely come here on vacation but it's not someplace I see myself all the time.
Plus, I am not really into outdoorsy activities and as you know, that's what abounds up here. Lots and lots to do and see, just not really for me. Sledding is about all I've done. I got on a snowmobile once and never again!! :lmao:
I will miss the Fall when we move. And the rain. I love the thunderstorms!!! And the leaves changing. Oh, that I will sorely miss.
And the snow is really pretty to have over Christmas, although it was MIA this year, but after that it can go! :rotfl:
As far as flying, last time for the trip I flew out of the Cherry Capitol Airport in TC. Changed planes in Detroit. It wasn't bad. No delays. Not like in Chicago. :sad2:
I agree, we should talk more!! Feel free to PM me when ever! Catch ya later.

I sent you some info in a PM. :thumbsup2
Not everyone stays the whole time. We have some come in earlier and some who leave later. Some only come for a few days or the week-end. It just depends.
We have some who are talking about coming in earlier and going to Halloween Horror Nights over at Universal. They went last year and loved it!! The last day for that is October 31.
As for touring, it's kind of a mix.
We would try to meet up for the meals and then kind of split up depending on what people wanted to do. Some would go shopping, some to the faster rides, and some to the slower rides.
That's the nice thing about it. You have so many women there that there is always some one who wants to do what you want to do. And some of us took tours as well.
About the ADR's that was kind of a hassle last year!! :lmao:
It was during the time of free dining, and we had way too many meals planned. It kind of felt like we were scheduled around the meals every day and always wondering where we had to eat next and when.
No one really like it so structured. So this time, I think we are planning less table service meals and more counter service.
Also Food and Wine Festival will be on then. There are alot of great counter service places especially in Epcot.
Then we will plan a few TS meals to meet up at, like maybe Spoodles, House of Blues, etc.
And most likely we will all head to the Adventurers Club one night (or more) as a group. We did that last time and it was alot of fun!

Thanks for the info Beth. The only place I really try to eat each time is LeCellier, usually lunch because I just love the pretzel breadsticks and cheese soup there.
I have never been to the Adventurer's Club. Or Jellyrolls. Would be fun to do adult stuff at night, lol.....

I have really only used these boards for info for family trips, etc.. but this post caught my eye. I could really use some fun without the husband and kids! Sounds like everyone had fun last year. I am a 38 yr old mom of 2 young boys and I just dont do enough for myself anymore.. I'm sure a lot of you can relate to that. I would love to do a trip just for me where I could really let my hair down and have fun. I do like to party and have fun and I was wondering if any of the others who went last year, or are going this year are the same way. I would definitely be up for some late nights of dancing & drinking.. Guess I just want to know if there are others in the group who like this kind of fun too.. I dont go on vacation to go to bed early! lol

Okay well, I won't make you since it's over 9,000 pages!!! :scared1: But the answer is a resounding YES!!
See that goose in my sig?
That is for the official drink of the Ladies-only trip. It's called the Blue Goose and is a mix of Grey Goose vodka with the blue slushie from the POP food court. :thumbsup2
And those shoes? The official stripper shoes of the Ladies trip. Notice the DIS lime green. ;)
Everyone there is alot of fun. And you won't have any trouble letting your hair down and having a great time.
I do want to say though, for anyone else reading this, that we have a nice mix of ladies of all ages, backgrounds, shapes, etc. LOL
And that includes the drinking. Most of them drink, but some don't.
So if you are interested in coming but not into hard partying, that's fine too. There are so many of us that you won't ever feel left out. I promise. There is always someone up for whatever your idea of fun is, whether that's a night of drinking and dancing, or a nice dinner and some shopping.
So everyone is welcome!!!! :yay: :cool1: :thumbsup2

What is this wonderful thread I happened upon? A trip to disney without kids or husband with other women who share the same love for disney so cool! I think that us mothers and wives deserve a trip like this for all the hard work we do all year long. I am a party person, of course in retirement because of children but I still love to have a good time. Wine, dinner, dancing, of course after a little more drinking. I am a little bit of a shy person but once I have acclimated myself with a crowd I am a pretty fun and outgoing person. (I sound like I am writing a personal add haha) I am definitely going to consider this. Hopefully I can get to know some of you great women a little better. A lot of my friends are not quite to the kid stage of their life yet so its harder to hang out. It would be nice to meet people who also have multiple kids(I have three) and also share the same interests. Most of my friends are not disney fans like ME. I have friends who have only one kid who also don't understand how difficult it is when the children out number you. Well enough venting hope to get to know you guys. Anyone from the great state of Maryland?

I am a little bit of a shy person but once I have acclimated myself with a crowd I am a pretty fun and outgoing person. (I sound like I am writing a personal add haha)
I am definitely going to consider this.
Do you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain? ;) :rotfl:
We would love to have you join us!! :yay:
It's a great group of ladies and I am sure you'd fit right in! They all love to eat and drink which is perfect since the Epcot Food and Wine Festival will be going on while we are there!!
I have four kids ages 6, 6, 10, & 12, so I know how hard it is and sometimes you just gotta get away and bring that party person out of retirement.
If you have any questions at all please feel free to send me a PM and I'll help ya out. :thumbsup2

Oooh, I'm so excited. I might be able to actually do this! Whoo hoo! I've been wanting to go for so long with just adults! But, when I've looked at DH and I doing it, it just seems like so much for just two of us!
Plus, I just found out that my work has some really good discounts on tickets! Yay! Where should I be watching for more info?

Hi there! We'd love to have you come along!!
We have a Chat thread where you can see pics from the first trip on page one, and then you can jump to the last page and start chatting with those going in November. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1045076
We also have a roommate thread that I see you found. :thumbsup2
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1337867
And we have a trip Reference thread that is just for lists and other important trip info that you can keep an eye on. Right now basically all we are doing is getting the word out, and getting to know the new members of the trip. We have the dates out and the resort chosen (POP), and a few have made their reservations already.
You can see that on the reference thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1313752

Everything happens for a reason right??? Well, this thread caught my eye for a reason I guess! BECAUSE I WANT TO GO TOO!!!!!!!!!!And of course I need it, deserve it, yada, yada, yada....
Without going to the website to price it...what does the room and tix cost during that timeframe?

Hi there!! Yes, everything happens for a reason and you must join us! :cool1:
About the room, some people called and had a code they were able to use. Also if you have AAA then you can get a room only discount. There are lots of different ways to book it. If you think you will be going often, you could even look into getting an AP, and that will give you discounts on things too.
If you pop onto the chat thread there are some real experts there who go to WDW all the time, who can help you out. :thumbsup2

I just priced it through AAA, and with 6 day hoppers, 5 night hotel, and the DDP, with tax, I get a total of $921. They said the room portion of that is approx. $425. I'm looking to split the cost with 2 or 3 other people, to bring that portion of the cost down. I'm not absolutely married to the idea of the DDP, I've also considered switching to come in on Friday, instead of Thursday to cut down on costs. I really want to make this happen!

For those looking for a roomie, the best way to do it, is to just get chatting on the main Chat Thread. That's where you will get to know more of the ladies and perhaps find some one you click with and would like to room with.
Last year we were all new so the ladies signed up and I matched people up. This year because we are staying at a value resort, alot of the ladies from last time are staying solo or are matching up with the same roommates from last time.
I won't be trying to match people up this time. We have the roomie thread where you can post that you are searching for a roomie.
My advice for the newer ladies is you really just have to get out there and start chatting and once you do that, I guarantee you will have a better chance of finding someone you'd like to stay with. :thumbsup2
All of our threads are on the DIS Meets board, so they are pretty easy to find. And it says in the title what each one is.
If anyone has any questions or needs help with anything just let me know. :)

zoe, if you drop the ddp, which is about $40 per night, you could drop that price down another $200.
if you buy the hopper tickets from an outside source such as underground tourist, maple leaf, etc. you can get more of a discount on the tickets.
split the room with one other person and that would be $214.50 for the room for 5 nights for you. that would be a good deal for you.
i think that the value resorts rooms are a tad small for 3 women to share.
but then, there might be someone on the threads that would think it could work out fine.
i am never in my room except to sleep basically. i don't spend time in it during the day. if you could get a couple of gals that leave the room in the morning and return later at night, that could fly if all they wanted was a bed.
i always stay solo, my sleep habits are not good. if i can't sleep i get up and read or i turn the tv on at night which would be a problem for a roommate. i get up early every morning around 6 and out of the room by 6:50 each morning. i return between 11:00 - midnight on most nights.
it is rare for me to be in the room early in the evening unless i am completely worn out.
and then when i return home, i need a vacation to recover from my vacation..........
