Calling all the wild and crazy, or just Disney lovin, ladies!!
It is time to mark those calendars for the 2nd Annual Ladies-only WDW trip!!!!:woohoo: :yay: :cool1:  :cheer2: :dance3:
Our first trip, back in Sept. was a blast!! We had over 45 awesome DIS ladies attend and we are more than ready to do it again. And we want you to join us!
This years dates will be November 1-6, 2007 and we will be staying at the Pop Century Resort. :yay:
Now just to clarify, Ladies-only means no men and no kids (under 18)! (Sorry guys and kiddos, not this time.) ;)
So if you love Disney, if you are a lady (well, if you are female, you don't have to act very lady-like), if you are ready to have fun and make new friends who share the same interests you do, then please think seriously about joining us on our next adventure!!!
If you are interested or have any questions just ask away and either myself or someone from the original trip will be happy to fill you in on what you need to know. (so far for this next trip we only have dates and a resort planned though)

Okay this is our current chat thread. It's long, but please don't let that scare you! :lmao: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1045076
That is actually the thread we all started chatting on last time around. You'll see the start date on that is March 3. If you want you can skim through it to see how things progressed last time around, or you can just jump right in and start chatting on the last page with us. :thumbsup2
The only other threads we had going was one with a list of who was signed up for what ADR and which tour, etc. Nothing that would really be of any importance now. And those are gone now anyways.
If you or anyone has any questions you can ask here and I will answer them OR you can always send me a PM and I will be more than happy to answer anything you may want to know.
Thanks and I hope we get lots of new faces to join us!!

love an all ladies trip... what a great and novel idea....
I have a ladies group that meets every Sunday just to get away from kids & hubbies. we meet 2 hrs or so each week and once a year we go away.
we are planning on a trip to NYC end of this month
Your trip might be a great getaway for us but have a quick question? Why a value resort? is is to keep expenses down.
I know my gang will want a hot tub and a place to get a massage.
just asking

Hi there. Last year, which was our first time, we took a poll and ended up at a moderate (Coronado Springs) but as the trip got closer some people couldn't afford that and a large number ended up at POP.
It just wasn't as much fun with the group divided up at different hotels, so this time around those who went on the first one decided it would be best to pick one hotel and everyone stay together.
In order to make that feasible for everyone we choose a value.
So yes, it's basically to make sure everyone can afford it. :thumbsup2
And trust me, if they hang around with our group, they won't even want a massage. They will be too busy having fun. :rotfl:
I hope you have a great time in NYC! And we'd love to have you join up with us in November. :cool1:

Just to add to this, just because the group decides to stay at Pop doesn't mean you guys can't stay wherever you want, we get a grand gathering number, so wherever you decide to stay, just add it to your ressie !

Oh yes. That is absolutely true. If you have DVC you want to use or always stay at a certain place then of course you can do that and we can all just meet up during the day. That's not a problem. :thumbsup2
We just wanted to pick one place that was fun and affordable for all. :)

thanks for the invite. I will talk to them this Sunday.
A few weeks ago we went to see Mary Poppins on Broadway. Totally awesome show!!
Funny, our room with tax is probably about $300 per nite versus one nite at Pop during that time which I presume will be about $100.
there are 9 of us. maybe we can swing it if we start saving next month.
thanks again....btw,,,,what is the age range. I am the oldest one in our group ....is it in 30's, 40's or above?
don't really care just want to see how much running I really have to do:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Here is some more info from a PM that I sent out to a lady who was asking about the trip a few days ago. Maybe that will help some of you decide if you are interested or not.
Hi there!! I saw your post on the thread and thought I'd send you a PM to maybe address some of your questions.
First, I guess I'll give you a little background just so you know what you are getting yourself into. lol
My name is Beth and I am a SAHM of 4 kids. Last January (2006) I got the crazy idea of taking a solo vacation to WDW. Like you said about your DH, mine is not very into Disney. He'd be happy going once every couple years!!
I casually mentioned one day to my DH that I should start a thread on the CB to see if anyone would be interested in meeting me in WDW. He pushed me to do it and so I did!!
The response was pretty cool. Lots of interest.
We did polls to pick the dates (our first trip was Sept. 27 thru Oct. 2, '06) and we did another poll to pick the resort. It ended up being Coronado Springs Resort but by the time of the trip we were pretty divided between CSR and POP.
Then we started a thread on the DIS Meets board which became our chat thread. That's where we hung out and got to know each other. As you can see it's still going strong. lol (over 9,000 pages now)
So that's how the whole thing started. We ended up with about 45 ladies total, some DISers and some just friends and family of DISers. It was alot of fun!!
Now, let me see if I can answer some of your questions:
How many "ladies" are going?
Well, like I said last time there were about 45 total. This time around who knows? There are about 15 or so of us who post on that thread on a regular basis.
Are you staying at POP?
One thing we learned is that it's much more fun to all be at the same resort so this time we are all planning to stay at POP with the exception of maybe one or two.
Are you sharing rooms?
Last time some of us hooked up with roomies and some went solo. I am guessing it will be like that this time as well. Probably once we get closer to the time to make reservations that will be brought up again.
I had a roomie that I met here online and loved her. We got along great. I know many others had the same experience.
Where are you eating?
Last time we went there was the free dining going on and so we had alot of ADRs for sit-down meals. I think this time, since there will be no free dining (as far as we know) we will do more counter service.
Some people didn't like the way so many ADR's ties you down as well. They prefered a more spontaneous way of eating. I do know Spoodles was a hit last time with some of the ladies, so I am sure that will be one of the places we will eat at.
We also ate at Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Prime Time Cafe, Park Fare, Donald's Breakfastasaurous, Earl's of Sandwich, Sci-Fi Cafe, and a few other places.
This time we won't know till later, but just about anyplace is up for discussion.
Do you have some sort of schedule?
Since there are so many of us, what worked well last time was to break off into smaller groups. For example we'd all meet at the MK for a breakfast at Crystal Palace (about 30 of us) then after the meal we'd split off into smaller groups depending on what people wanted to so.
Another fun thing we did was the Keys to the Kingdom Tour which doesn't allow kids under 16. There was about 9 of us who did that tour together and it was awesome!!
And another small group of ladies took the Segway tour around Epcot and really enjoyed that as well.
Hmmm, what else....
Oh, about telling the kids and DH. Well, none of the ladies really had a hard time with that. I think most of the husbands were pretty cool with it.
And I know for myself when I told my kids I was going to WDW without them, they were upset. Then I told them I was going with a bunch of ladies from the DIS and they were so bored with it. :rotfl: They said to me,"Mom, all you are going to do is shop and eat!" :lmao:
Um, sure, yeah. We'll let them think it's totally boring. ;)
All the ladies are really nice and very normal. Well, sometimes. :rolleyes1
We range in age from 28 to mid 50's. (I'm 35) Most are married and have kids, but some don't. We all love Disney though and just wanted to have fun!
Anyways, I hope that gives you some idea of what to expect. We'd love to have you join us. I know the thread is a little daunting but please don't let it scare you away.
And if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. It's not a bother at all.

Wow! That would be pretty great. I was already planning on being there because my husband has a conference at Coronado. So if all goes well I could be there (with no husband) for the first four days! I'm not the most outgoing person (a little shy at first) but I LOVE disney and love that all the DISsers "get" that LOVE. I am marking it down as a big possibility! That would be two trips for me in a year!

I'd love to do this! I think my husband would look to have me committed, however! He thought it odd enough to meet up with a diser when we were on vacation--but to actually plan a whole vacation with a group of my cyber friends?! Wow.
What is the word on rates at Pop for that week? Will the gathering qualify for a group rate?

LOL That's what alot of us thought too! But so far no one has been committed and we are all pretty normal so you can tell him he has no worries. ;)
As far as POP, if you check out the Disneyworld website you can get a quote for that time frame. Also if you have AAA you can get a discount. And I'm sure as it gets closer there will be discount codes coming out that will make it a much better deal.
Last time everyone made their own reservations which worked out well. We used a Grand Gathering number to keep the rooms close together and some of the ladies hooked up and shared a room to cut costs.
Hope you both can make it. :)

Hi there.
Well, in all honesty, at 19 you'd be the "baby" of the bunch. ;) I think last time the youngest lady we had was 28 and she was married with one kiddo.
Over all we range in age from 28 on up through mid 50's.
The average age is probably mid 30's. Most are married with kids, although not all.
Hope that helps!

For the baby of the group, I may join in and I am 23 (though divorced with no kids unless you count a furbaby!!!)
