Hi everyone!!! Can you believe it's already 2007? Time to meet those New Year's Goals you've set, get organized, and get those pictures scrapped!! It's a good way to have fun and less stress. . .plus it makes those memories even more special!!

I am determined to make time to scrap each month, but I know my two good months of the year (October and December) are far away! :rotfl2: We're going to kick this year off right, though!!

Who's in?? (In case you're not familiar with this, you just count your number of completed pages with journaling that you've done for the month. You can post daily, weekly, all at one time, or whatever works for you!)

I just finished my first two!:cool1: I am determined to stay on track with my daughters twirling album. I am almost current, one more layout and then I can start working backwards. If I didn't go to Disney five times a year, it would be a lot easier to keep up!:rolleyes1:

:woohoo: :woohoo:

You are on the board!! I'm impressed that you already have 2. My family albums are always behind (I'm stuck at March 2006, and I just put 2004 & 2005 into slide in albums where you could journal on the side). What am I working on, though? Disney trip albums!! That's how I get behind!! ;)

I'm in, for the first time. The mini albums I made for Christmas presents were a hit, so now I've been assigned the task of making D-SIL a wedding album. I have all the supplies (except the photos :rolleyes1 ) and I will attempt to do some of my own stuff as well.

Nancy, I've got you and B&MB signed up!! What a great secretarial job you did!! I'm looking forward to this month--with all of the organizing everyone is doing, the scrapping should be rolling right along!! I'm impressed, Nancy, that you're taking apart all of your sticky books--that's so cool! :thumbsup2

what the heck count me in

I did a total of 174 pages during the year 2006 (completed 2 books one 73 pages and one 36 pages) both for other people.

I also completed 23 swaps totally over 200 spots I think.

I'm determined to complete 4 books for others (3 I have been working on for 3 years) plus do 5 disney albums and 2 disney cruise albums (as you can see I'm behind on my disney albums LOL)

Count me in again. I'll probably have a slow month since we've got a couple of weekends out of town, but this thread is great for motivation!

StitchIsOurHero...you rocked out at the end of last month. :thumbsup2 I was so jealous as I sat at my parents' house with lots of free time and no way to scrapbook.

StitchIsOurHero
01-01-2007, 09:45 PM
New England Eeyore, jennyL, and luvmy2sams--welcome aboard!! I can tell we are going to be great support for each other to scrap as well as swap! You all have to make sure I do at least a few during the month--scrapping is my stress-reliever, and sometimes I put it on the back burner (sometimes. . .that is to say all of 2004 and 2005! :rotfl: )

Nancy--look at you! On the board already!! I worked on my paper sorter tonight, and then DH said "Will you be scrapping any tomorrow since the swap signups are going on?" I thought, "Yes, I will, because that is the goal!! More scrap, less swap" I think he doubts me!!

Happy scrappin', everyone, and thanks for joining!! :dance3:

Well, I got 10 pages done over the course of the day. I was having issues with my Cricut tonight, so i quit before I started to get too frustrated. I am finding that my mat isn't very sticky anymore, and so when it starts to cut, the paper moves. Is there any way to make the mat re-stick, or should I just buy a new one. Anyway, I am now scrapping April 2006, so not bad!!!:thumbsup2

BernardandMissBianca
01-02-2007, 12:41 AM

Add me in! DH is back to work this afternoon so I might get a few pages done. I'm back to work tomorrow  and we've got people coming this weekend, but I'll try to get going. I've been scrapping one year and one month, and I've completed 5 albums and 3 CM picfolios plus one small swap. So how come only vacations are up to date?

lewdyan1
01-02-2007, 06:04 AM

01-02-2007, 08:02 AM
I would love to join in this month. I didn't get many pages completed in 2006 and now I'm even farther behind. I am going on a weekend scrapbooking retreat in two weeks so I'm going to be working on getting organized, etc. for that. I may not have numbers to post for a week or so but this has got to help get me back on track.

MazdaUK & TammyNC--welcome!! :yay: More successful 2007 scrappers!! This IS going to be a great month and a great kick off to a terrific year!!

B&MB, littlelambie, and lewdyan1: I'm impressed! I'll get your totals updated! Today is my last day off from Christmas Break, so I'm hoping to get some scrappin' done!

littlelambie, my Cricut mat does the same thing sometimes. I just have to push on it to get it to stick, and then sometimes, move the blade down the page. It sort of pins the top in before it starts cutting--does that make sense? KAMommy has a craftrobo, and she can use painter's tape to anchor the paper to the mat--I haven't tried that on the Cricut, but I think it would work as long as you move the blade down past it. Good luck! :thumbsup2

pjilla--I don't know if we posted at the same time, or if I'm just crazy, but I missed yours somehow! Welcome aboard!! :yay: Swimming sounds like fun--and lots of picture opportunities, which means more scrappin'!

Ok, you all have inspired me. I worked this afternoon on some more of the June 2006 WDW album, and the pages I had planned out. I got 17 done (it makes up 1 day of the trip). I feel like I will never finish this album--slowly, but surely I guess I'll get there!

I get so upset..with the photos.. I wished I had for years ago.. "I'm like, why in the world didn't get I get a picture of all of us in front of the tree?".. Hello, and my first tree in our family album.. could someone say, butt ugly... Hey, Buffy, I must have donated your lonely ol' tree to the previous owner..because I have a picture of it in my house!!

Nancy, when I went back through our Christmas album from all of our other years this year, I kept saying, "I don't remember us looking like that." and "Why did we hang that decoration up?" I guess that's the fun of a Christmas album!! :santa:

Just got back from Disney on the 22nd Dec 06. Got LOTS of scrapping. Done my first 6 pages for MGM. (kinda used up a LOT of my scrap stuff that i was keeping. (reciepts, stickers, park tickets etc.)

So where do we display our pages?

PrincessNancy96
01-03-2007, 11:10 AM
There is a sticky at the top of the page for our virtual scrapbook. You can display them there.. Or some posters post a new thread to show their work..either way works well!!!

Congrats and welcome!!!

I'll join! This sounds like fun!!!

Couple questions.
Do I need to have journaling on each page
Do I need to post the page or just the number of pages?
If I need to post, where do I do that?

K, new timer here but love to scrap!

StitchIsOurHero
01-04-2007, 05:48 AM
Wow, Nancy! I'll get you updated! Great job!!

pixieshouse--welcome aboard! I'll get you added to the first post. To answer your question, the pages just have to be complete including journaling--I am a journaling freak, so most of my pages have journaling on them, but some of them do not (just b/c it doesn't need it, you know?). So, I guess it's what's "complete" to you! :thumbsup2 Here you just post the number of pages. If you want to post a completed page, you could post it in the thread at the top (the virtual scrapbook thread), or some people have started their own threads with their pages--either way works great! :yay:

I'll play. I've completed 7 pages so far. I don't expect to get a huge amount completed this month, but I my goal is to make steady progress throughout the year. Usually I'm gung-ho for a few weeks and then nothing for months. I have so much to do and I know I'll never get caught up, especially with another baby on the way. But at least I should make an attempt.

If my Tivo didn't take 3 hours to hook up I would have had more done.
I'm mad cause even after 3 hours the tivo won't work where I was putting so I had to disconnect everything and put it back in the box to start all over tomorrow on another TV. LOL

The GREAT news is hubby finally goes back to work after being off for almost 3 weeks so I get to scrap early so be prepared to update again LOL

So, did no one notice my new ticker?? We just found out we are expecting #2!!:cool1: We were slightly shocked!! Not really an accident, more like a surprise. Anyway, that is why I have not done any scrapping all week!! My nights have been kind of shot. I am so tired by the time ds goes to bed, and I start to feel a little crappy after supper. OK, so now knowing I will have a whole other person to scrap book in September, I need to get caught up!! I am on April of 2006, so not that far to go.

You ladies are all doing great!! Have fun, and keep scrapping!:thumbsup2

WooHoo!! Were you trying?
YAY!! Another DIS baby, I can't wait! I love being an Auntie!

LOL!! Not really trying, but not stopping it either if that makes any sense. Ds is 5, and I want him to be the 1st to know, so we are keeping it a secret for now. We will probably not tell him till about 12 weeks, and I am very newly pg, so it will be a secret for awhile. I am looking forward to scrap booking a new baby. I have so many more ideas then when I did ds, back when I had just started.

Thanks for your note!!

Good morning, everyone! We have certainly been productive here!! It looks like the New Year's resolutions/goals to get scrapping are working well!!!

rlovew, Nancy, LisaB, honeybehr1, and pixieshouse, I'll get you updated!

rlovew--we did that same kind of thing in September when we went for my 30th birthday--but it was my 30 things I was most looking forward to at WDW. It was fun to get pics of all of that, but I can't imagine coming up with 30 things I hadn't done before! I'd love to see your list!

MazdaUK--you can count your recipe swap pages if they are completed pages. Any completed pages count! :thumbsup2

ImADizneyNut--I LOVE my TiVo!!

LittleLambie--I hadn't noticed your new ticker until now. CONGRATULATIONS!! That is so exciting to have a new princess: or pirate: on the way!! I hope your pregnancy is a happy one!!

Thanks so much for your note. I am due in Sept, and ds will be 6 the end of Nov. I am a bit worried about how ds will react, all of the sudden having to share his space, and mommy, with someone else. Plus I am due the middle of Sept, about a week and a hlaf after he starts kindergarden. That is a lot of changes to handle!! Was your ds excited by the pg? Feeling the baby move, ect? I am anxious to be able to share it with ds. Thanks again!!

We had to tell him right away because I was high risk and Ds loved to give these super sonic running hugs right into my stomach.

He was thrilled about the pg and went to alot of the appointments with me. He was very involved in picking things out for him and such. I wanted him to be involved to cut down on the jelousy but there was very little.

I did have the new baby pick a few special presents out for his big brother which helped with "why does the baby get so many presents but nothing for me" Also a couple of people actually bought a gift for Ds as well as the baby which was very nice.

It worked out very well for us. Plus the older son is so very helpful because I was on bedrest throughout the last 4 months. And he is still very helpful.
They share a bedroom by choice and they love it. Of course there are the normal sibling fights and such but they are not jelous of each other - they play with different toys because of the age gap.

Plus one will be out of college before the other one starts which is a plus. There werent two in diapers. Only one on formula.

I love your pages! And bonus points for actually *using* your swap items. Some of us (okay, me) simply like to 'collect' them. ;)

After looking at your pages, I finally understand what a license plate is! I love yours - they're too cute!

Okay, so at the end of the first week...

I've...

- Reorganized my scrap space a bit
- Pulled out photos from Spring Break at DL from 1995
- Shocked by how faded two rolls of film had become (the place that developed them used Konica, and there was a real difference between the 3rd roll and my DH's rolls which were Kodak)
- Found negatives for rolls to reprint them
- Pulled out pictures from first WDW trip in 1995
- Realized I have park maps and stuff that I need to find

Pages scrapped: Zero!

Maybe next week will be better

Nah, Hubby works nights, my 5yo goes to bed by 7:30 so I scrap from 7:30 to around 10.
And sometimes hubbys sleeps during the day (while son is in school) so I scrap then.

I know a few of you asked about my list of 30 things- keep in mind I have been to Disney many times and there are few things I haven't done that I want to do other than a lot of eating places. Some of the things are fairly insignificant.

1. Got a birthday button
2. Watched the chef at Fountain View during breakfast
3+4. 2 Exhibits I hadn't done in Innoventions: Opportunity City and the new one with the Molecules- I will get a picture when we are there on January 20th.
5. Eating at Coral Reef
6. Having Birthday Dessert at Coral Reef (which we weren't charged for)
7. Jingle Jungle Parade
8. AK decorated for Christmas
9. Chartacer Trails at AK
10. Everest at night
11. Evening EMH at AK
12. Staying at Coranda Springs (DH didn't like it)
13. Breakfast at Kona Cafe
14. Being in a park on a major holiday(Thanksgiving)
15. Eating at Pepper Market
16. Visiting Old Key West
17. DTD at Christmas
18. Spent a long time with the Incredibles(no wait and no one else around)
19. Dinner at O'Hanas
20. Comedy Club at PI
21. Adventures Club at PI
22. Akerhaus Princess Lunch
23. Seeing the British Invasion
24. Yatch and Beach club resorts
25. Dinner at Beaches and Cream
26. Dancing Osborne Lights (we have seen the lights before)
27. Seeing the Illuminations globe opened and out in the middle of the afternoon while they worked on it in the lagoon.
28. Illuminations Cruise
29. Holiday Illuminations
30. Nemo Musical

That is my list that I am creating the album around. It has been a lot of fun.

We're iced in this weekend, and DD doesn't have school again until Tuesday. Hopefully we won't lose power, and I'll be able to scrap the weekend away. :cool1: Why do I need power? Good morning, everyone! I think I have us all updated in the first post! WOW, there's a lot of scrapping going on this month, and we're not even halfway through yet!!

luvmy2sams--your little boy is adorable!! And I love that lion on the page, too! I hope you don't lose power this wknd so you can scrap to your heart's content!!

rlovew--thanks for sharing your list!! It was similar to the one I did for my 30th b-day...just things I'd never done that I wanted to do! You'll have to show us some pages from the album when you're done!!

hopemax--for me, the title page is usually the hardest. And I'm so "detail-oriented" (the nice word), that I HAVE to do it first!!

littlelambie--I was :rotfl2: about all of the zoo pages! After my b-day WDW trip, we had TONS of MNSSHP pics. I told DH that I didn't want to see Halloween stuff for a LONG time!!

dyjama--WELCOME!! Scrapping the trip is a great way to get through those post-WDW blues!! AND, it gives you all sorts of ideas for the planning of the next one!!

Happy, happy scrapping, everyone!! I hope all of you have a relaxing, productive Sunday!! :dance3:

Just back from a four day scrapbooking retreat weekend. I got so much accomplished and completed everything that I wanted to over the weekend. I finished up a 2001 Disney trip that DH had started and stopped half-way through, completed our 2006 family album, completed my Christmas album for 2006 (except for my title page for the year and putting the photo Christmas cards we received in). Once I finished those it was Sunday morning so instead of starting another scrapping project, I cropped about 1/2 of another Disney trip. My Disney album that I did complete went great because I had prepared about 50 page layouts before I went.

I did 101 pages on my trip, so my total for the month so far is 108. I'm so excited to be feeling more in control of my pictures now. I have lots of other projects to work on, I'm going to finish my 2 Christmas pages hopefully before bed time tonight.

Thanks! It was a VERY productive weekend. I do have to say that I'm tired this morning. I'm looking for an idea I saw for my Christmas cards and then I can finish that album.

Wow that is unbelievable. I have wondered if I would find a weekend crop productive or not but you certainly did. Maybe I wil spring for one at some point. Did you go with friends or just by yourself? I am worried that if I was to go with friends I would get more talking than working done.

There was a group of approx. 50 ladies that went. We were at a retreat center that holds conferences, etc. We had 3 rooms full of scrappers, there were a few of my close friends there and my mom then lots of other really wonderful ladies. We had a 6' table each with plenty of space, we were able to set up and leave it out all weekend. This place provides 3 meals a day and you don't need snacks in between with the meals they prepare. This place has no TV in the bedrooms or telephones, it is in a slight remote location. A perfect weekend away to rest and get lots of scrapping done.

I have also gone to the beach with a few girlfriends and we can get lots of pages done there too.

I do know that doing the page layouts before I went helped a lot this time.

I didn't get anything done this weekend--lots of being a slacker and lying on the couch! :rolleyes1 Tonight, we have a far away ballgame, so I am spending the night at my mom's after it (she lives in the town where I work). No scrapping tonight. I hope to get a little bit done tomorrow night, but it may be this weekend before I can get a few more pages done. Only 58 days until our WDW trip--must get June 06 and Oct 05 scrapped before then! :dance3:

Last night I spent a couple hours making a mini photo scrapbook for an internet friend. I've never met her in person, but just like here on the DIS after a while you feel you "know" the people you post with. Her son, just a few months older than my 2yo, has been in the hospital since Dec. 27. Actually he's been in and out of the hospital his whole short life with issues stemming from his premature birth (29 weeks). It's heart wrenching to hear all this little boy has been through in such a short time. The other day his mother posted she's trying to take as many pictures of his now as she can because with all that's just recently gone wrong in his little body there's no telling what the future may bring. I found a few pics of her little boy where he's not hooked up to all kinds of tubes and wires and put them into one of those BBP mini albums along with some stickers, rub-ons and quotes. I left lots of room for her to add other pictures - she has 2 other sons, 3yo and 9mo - or to add comments as she wishes. I just hope this brings a little smile to her face whenever she looks at it.

Another 5 pages down for me, bringing my total up to 52 for the month.

We're iced in here with another forecasted storm on the way. DD8's been monopolizing DS3 during the day, so I've been scrapping my afternoons away. Poor DH stopped by the store on his way home from work and made the mistake of asking if I needed anything. I was almost out of adhesive so I talked him through the store. Talk about a man lost...he would have been more comfortable in the feminine products aisle! :rotfl2:

We've got snow/ice outside and the roads are a mess. Schools closed all over today. Hopefully DS2 will give me a chance to do a little scrapping, but he usually gets mad when I sit down to do that rather than play with him so we'll see.

It's going to be a loooooong day around here, but the worst part is I won't be able to send off that album I made the other night. (The little boy was airlifted to a children's hospital the other night so the family is split, mother at the hospital with K and father out in the sticks somewhere with the other 2 kids.)

I didn't quite double my total, but I did 11 pages today!

I started DSIL's wedding album. It's 11" x 8/5" (so the long direction is horizontal, not vertical). It's different from what I'm used to, but so far so good. It is actually a little easier than I was expecting because most of the pages have been covered with photos. Still nervous though because I don't know if what I like will be what she likes.

EDIT: I did 2 more pages, so that makes 13 total for the day, and I DID double my monthly total to 26!

Add 8 for me! PLus I sorted out all my paper stash and pulled out stuff for the cookbooks (mostly checks - I thought they looked sort of homey!) AND made my first batch of serendipity squares. I went to a crop yesterday and got 10 pages done.

It would have been more (should have been more!) but when I got there my CM coordinator was having a huge sale (she just moved and was doing a big clean-out) so I spent an hour shopping, then I sat down to unpack and couldn't find my pictures! I searched both bags and they just were not there, so I had to drive home to get them. Thankfully I live close, but it still wasted time. When I walked in DH said "Was it canceled? You can't be done?" and when I told him I forgot my pictures he just laughed and laughed. The sad part is, this is the not first crop I've been to where I forgot my pictures! Oh well, at least I got some pages done, had a few laughs, and bought some stuff at a deep discount :)

11 more pages today.

I was hoping to finish the wedding book today, but no such luck. Unfortunately, DFIL is in the hospital. He's a diabetic and has always been stable, but the last couple of days he's had extremely low blood sugar and this morning things escalated a bit and he was admitted. So not the best atmosphere for scrapping because DH has been worried.

But I have everything done except the reception, so about 3/4ths done, and I should be able to finish things up tomorrow. I've been using the Bazzill BLING paper, and I give that paper two BIG thumbs up. The shimmery stuff is really pretty with the "dressy" photos. Very classy.

I finished up the 7 pages from this weekend that I couldn't count before because they needed titles.

Unfortunately, it's going to be another night in the hospital for DFIL. His blood sugar crashed several times last night, so until they can get that stablized he's not going home. :sad1:

I also remembered, that I still have some photos to edit, print and scrap for this, so I won't be done today or tomorrow. :P DSIL had a luau for the reception so I have pictures of them preparing and burying the pig and pulling it out of the ground, but I want those to be small (2 x 3) so I have to resize them, put them in one file so Costco can print them, and then get over there to pick them up. However, those will be 2 two page layouts, so once I do get them, it should be quick to get them in the book.

Fran98765--I have stuff from a swap for an ABC album, but I haven't started it yet. I would love to see pics of yours after you work on it! :thumbsup2 I keep wanting to start it, but I am so far behind on everything else! :sad2:

Happy Thursday, everyone!!

I have them up on my server to share with my family and friends, so you can spot them at http://home.insightbb.com/~baity-scrapbook/disneyatoz.html. I got the intro page and A done. It was done digitally. Maybe I'll do B today. :)

On topic, I got another 1 page done yesterday.

5 more for me from yesterday. Chacha was down which sucked because I didn't make any money, but at least I invested the time wisely in scrapping. ;)

Grand total....a whopping 13.

I would love to join in....my May 2006 Disney vacation scrapbook and previous scrapbooks was put on hold last year as I was elected to do a scrapbook for our parents 50th wedding anniversary....that took me 250 pages and several months to finish...I have now taken my break from scrapbooking and ready to join the band wagon again.....this is just want I need for motivation

That's great, Mazda! (The pages, not the shakes! ;) ). I'm about like you. I've been working on swap stuff and then stuff for work, so I haven't done any of my pages in a while. I must do that tomorrow!! :)

Woohoo! I got another 4 pages done tonight - 2 for my CJ and 2 for someone else's. I think that brings me up to a whopping 11 for the month. I may be able to squeeze out one or two more by Wednesday night, but I'm not counting on it.

I know I won't be working on it this month, but I decided I really need to make an ABC album for my son. He's 25 months old and pointing out letters to me all the time now - and he's never wrong.

I've done 24 2 page layouts, so far. So,

48 pages in January, so far

3 more pages done today - DS(13) 1st day at school, so I'm getting there! Only another 9 1/2 years til I'm up to date. This thread has been really helpful motivating me to get my stuff out for even just an hour or so at a time:thumbsup2

Could we start an annual thread just to keep track - if whoever hosts each month can keep two threads up to date at once:angel: it would be great to see our progress over a year as well:cool1:

Ooh! I like that idea Mazda! I would be happy to start an "annual" thread--whoever wins each month could do the monthly thread, and I could just add in the updates (as they're posted on that thread) to the annual thread. Does that sound good to everyone? I'm like you--I'd like to see our progress over a year!! :thumbsup2

To make it easier, you could just do the annual thread after each month is completed. Maybe in Dec could do it more often since it's the end, but make it easy on yourself the rest of the year! :)

That would be easier! I could just update at the end of each month--I think it would be cool to see how many we get done! :thumbsup2

I love the idea of keeping up with annual totals. I have some smilies I made for a scrapbooking forum on another (now defunct) message board that people could put in their signatures if they wanted, too. Or maybe use them to group scrappers by total pages completed or something.
